Avoid this place at all costs. The front desk associate is the rudest customer service person I've ever encountered and an outright liar. This office lies about your care at all levels of their procedure. They withhold information and don't take patient care seriously. They will tell you they're waiving made up fees to gain your trust to screw you over later. They lied to me about my dental condition, insurance payments, my insurance approvals and the basic timeline of our interactions, hoping I'd never make calls to verify. For the conversations happening currently about health insurance companies v providers, where it's understood that usually providers are the good guys, this provider is an exception. These guys are the bad guys. Please save your money, your time and your good energy and go somewhere else. You'll be glad you did. read more

I had a horrible experience from the first day I came in to clean my teeth at this place. Dr. Mooradian said that I needed six crowns and that I had a cavity. I paid for the crowns upfront because of the Carecredit promotion. Dr. M made snarky remarks and was unprofessional, but I brushed it off. I came back for my crowns and I got my 2nd and 3rd one done together because it was on the same side. When I went in to get my teeth prepared for the crown, I had mentioned to her that my teeth were sensitive and have been sensitive for years. Even when I went in for my first visit for teeth cleaning, she brushed off my concern and still crowned my teeth anyways. I went in for another follow up visit a month later and mention that my teeth were still sensitive after crowning. They took some images and said that I needed a root canal on the same tooth that I had a crown literally put in a month prior. They sent me to Rootvision Endo to do my root canal and the doctor there listen to my concern about my other tooth sensitivity that was crowned at the same time. So instead of getting one root canal that day, I had to get 2..... I went back to Dr. M to get my crowns fixed again because they were drilled into because of the root canals that I got after the crowning... I spoke with Michelle that I did not want to continue my services there anymore and I would like a refund. I got the refund back for the 3 crowns not done. They gave me the option to get my crowns redone again but I told them no and that I would like a refund back for those 2 crowns that should've gotten the root canal first, then the crown but they refuse to meet me in the middle. During my multiple visits there, Dr M made horrible comments about my teeth and all around she was an unpleasant person. (Example: Dr M had mentioned that my teeth were big to her assistant in front of my face while I was in the chair). My first visit was at the end of October and my last visit was mid February. In that time frame, I had 7 dental appointments....Michelle is the person I have been speaking with about this issue and she has been telling me that she is going to have the Regional manager contact me and I have never heard from that person ever...6 months ongoing. I have called them multiple times to get this situated but all around this was just bad business. read more

Another awesome visit today. Even though I missed my regular dentist Ms Julius I was taken care of by Dentist Eddie! Super nice, gentle and informative. But the real show stopper today was Ruby!!! I have been coming to this dentist for about a year now. Prior to that I never stepped in one since I was 15. I was always afraid since I was a kid because they pulled off the the wrong tooth. My mother sued them for it & thankfully lost their license for it as there was other people that claimed similar experiences. At first, the reviews made me skeptical because they mentioned unpleasant experiences. When I first came here though I did have a unpleasant experience as well when it came to feeling a bit of pressure of having to do something I didn't want to do with my teeth since I was financially struggling at the time. But I did speak up about it with the manager & it was handled. I will say that the receptionist & everyone that works here are always really welcoming & friendly. They have the absolute best customer service here & I truly love them for that. Like any other place you have all this paper work you need to fill out. Some of the questions ask you about how you feel about dentists. Again, due to my history I put that I was really scared. But they were able to ease my anxiety by consulting me & assuring me every step of the way. With that being said, Dr.Julius is an absolute sweet heart. She always walks me through every procedure she does, is always patient with me, so understanding & easy to talk to. Honestly, I never thought I would ever be at the dentist in all my years if she wasn't here. She has made my experiences very pleasant. A while back I had a tooth that needed to be removed & I was afraid of the process & because of it I kept delaying it. But when I finally had the guts to go through with it, she made the experience wonderful. I did not feel any pain & 10/10 pulled the right tooth off too! Lol. Again, I know this place has some questionable reviews but don't let that stop you from coming to meet Dr.Julius & all the wonderful people that work here. As for the price, it can be pricey but you're paying for quality in the end & your teeth deserve it. read more

This place is dysfunctional and therefore causes patients to wait for long periods of time in the waiting room, or the chair, or not be seen at all. I have been here three times over the last year and a half, and I've experienced all of the above. I really wanted to give them a chance, hoping the next visit and the next visit would be better, but no, it just got worse. First time -- rude customer service from front desk staff, and I sat in the chair waiting for my teeth to be cleaned by the male doctor who was continuously talking about tacos to the hygienist while he worked on my teeth. Second time -- after X-rays, I sat in the chair for almost an hour waiting for the doctor to see me... She then proceeded to keep talking to me about her kid's school and asking me questions and expecting an answer while my mouth was open with tools inside. At the end, I realized she was talking me up to bring my LO here for her first dental visit. No thanks. This place is old and dingy... more on this later. Third and final time (today) -- I made this appointment to get my teeth cleaned 6 months ago. I waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time in the waiting room. Then they took the x-rays (by the way, the tech touches the button outside with the same gloves she uses to touch the piece on my mouth, and the X-ray apparatus, and the computer keyboard-- they do not even have the plastics around the handles for the light and then they end up touching your mouth? Gross.... ). After X-rays, I waited in the other chair about 15 minutes before pictures of my teeth were taken, then the doctor comes to examine me, and then the $ lady from the front desk comes in to tell me the cost of potential dental work. Ok, fine. But this next part is the worse-- she proceeds to tell me that all the hygienists are too busy to clean my teeth today. Over an hour past my appointment time, I'm told that I cannot get my teeth cleaned today-- the very thing that I had made an appointment for. What the heck? I commented to her how this practice of overbooking is unfair to patients and wastes their time. She cut me off and said it's not overbooking (as she proceeds to walk away back to the front so I follow her). She said she could set me up with a new appointment. No thank you. I would have appreciated being told over an hour ago that I wasn't going to be able to get my teeth cleaned today. But no... they decided to do everything else, then save the best news until the end. She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I won't be back. As far as cleanliness, this place is pretty gross. Buttons that aren't cleaned are touched with the same gloves that go into your mouth. There are handlebars (such as on the lights or X-rays ) that don't have the plastic that is disposed between patients so they touch it, they touch the computer mouse and keyboard, and they touch your mouth.... This place is also not inviting for children-- it is all brown, beige, gray and old. So, long story short -- if you don't want to deal with rude people, and if you want to be seen on time in a nice, clean, modern dental office with wonderful staff and doctors who treat their patients like they are valuable, this is certainly not the place to go. Do yourself a favor and save yourself time and stress -- read the negative reviews and believe them. read more

As a health care provider it is extremely important to have proper bedside manner and develop a trusting relationship with your patients. This was my first time, as a patient that my dentist has ever asked me what my goals are for my dental care. I was shocked and had to collect my thoughts simply because I speak to my patients in the same manner and set appropriate expectations for them. I also have a low pain tolerance so I appreciate the fact that Dr Julis and the staff took the time to make sure I was appropriately sedated before proceeding with any interventions. I've always been terrified of dentists, but Dr. Julius completely changed that. Front staff was extremely friendly, my whole experience was amazing! Nobody pushed me towards getting certain treatments done or spending more than I have to. ok. So Ive been looking like crazy for a good dentist. I went to this place in monterey park because they did not have any appointments in north hollywood which is where I live. I was in a lot of pain and needed to go in asap. The customer service was great. Staff was extrememly nice and the dentist is such a charmer. Yes, emphasize the word CHARMER. First his assistant showed me a book of healthy teeeth to unhealthy teeth as a scare tactic. It worked!! I freaked out! I was the only patient in there and so they were extra attentive to me. Finally dentist came out and looked inside my mouth for a few minutes, dentist chatted with me for a good 20minutes until his secretary came back with a clip board full of numbers. 2pages!! Dentist says, that i have gum disease!!! whaaat!!! plus 18thousand dollars worth of work done needed but with their discount 6thousand dollars and only $225 for monthly payments. Ummmm. so im freaking out even more because i felt my teeth were going to rott and fall out right that second if i didnt sign up to do all this work. I thought wow, they had a lot of time to add and figure numbers out. I told him I had my dental insurance but he came up with different excuses of how it didnt cover everything. I asked if we can only do a root canal and he said that was $950!!! I again mentioned that my insurance only chages me $350. he acted confused and beat around the bush to avoid completely answering that question and said "but it doesnt cover the medicine. " he actually tried confusing me while he was talking. I look young, but im not dumb. So then they decided to check if they can up my credit on my carecredit card and i was denied. Secretary tried convincing me to do the root canal and put it on what i had left on my carecredit and just pay the difference, I again mentioned to her that they use my insurance so why not use that?? she also avoided answering that question and shrugged her shoulders. I was soooo close to saying yes because they freaked me out on how bad my mouth is. I walked out of there feeling dupped because they were so nice and friendly but then realized that they were desperate for a sale and didnt want to take my student dental coverage because they actually loose money. 10 dentist chairs and I was the only one in there the entire 3hours. Im sad because i was pretty impressed with the fancy stylish expensive clothes wearing dentist and his charm(go figure!). When i felt they just wanted to scare me and it worked until i consulted with friends and family. If you ever go to a dentist, please take the paper work with you of exactly what your insurance covers you so you do not get denied. Also be aware of how busy the office is. If they are desperate for clients and money, you are going to get scammed and scared into gettting something expensive done. Like 6thousand dollars worth of work! Towards the end it felt forced on me to do something i knew was covered. Very dissapointed and have a sour taste in my mouth, besides my aching tooth. Yes, I was young and recently got CPA license so had a pay increase so was like ya, whatever I'll just pay it, but man that was $9K down the DRAIN!! Charged me a couple hundred for that, and then at the end of my invisalign, he said I needed veneers, are you fukin kidding me?? Dude, you're such a rip off! I should have gone to yelp to be warned about this dentist. They show you all these gross pictures of nasty teeth and say yours are bad too. OMG! And the best part, I really should have paid attention to HIS teeth, his were yellow and nasty! He closes his mouth a lot but wow! Ya, I should not trust a middle eastern dentist with those teeth! If I could give this place a zero star, I would. Be aware; only visit this clinic if you have too much money and want to give a lot of it away to a dishonest dentist and his staff. Long story short, like most reviewers here, you will experience a scare tactic at the beginning with good and bad pictures. Once you are psyched out and believe that you have serious dental problems, the dentist will offer you some ridiculously expensive solutions that you probably do not need. If you can't afford it, no problem because they can help you apply for one of their credit cards and put you on a monthly plan. Then they will also try to sell you their expensive dental cleaning kit to keep your teeth healthy, which probably cost no more than $10. And if by this time they have not squeezed every penny out of you, they will recommend other unnecessary work to be done in your mouth. I wished I had seen the reviews for this place before going in to have my teeth worked on. Even the dental work is poor as hell. The dentist called me and asked me for the reason I gave them a 1 star review. I was thinking "why didn't you read my review?!" I told him exactly what I said on the review. He hung up on me before I even finished. It just showed that they were not willing to change. My question is: are business owners allowed to contact their customers via phone after they learned that the customer gave them a bad review? First place that showed up when looking for a dentist with my current dental plan. The receptionist and everyone (including the dentist) seems nice enough. That is - until they tell you how much they want to charge you. My husband and I both went there and they tried to overcharge and overtreat us. Unfortunately, they gave my husband a filling and a deep cleaning using a laser that my husband DID NOT NEED and charged us $980. They never even billed our insurance!!!!! They got my husband set up with a credit card to pay the $980 without mentioning that we would need to send the bill to the insurance company. They are quite friendly until you figure out their schemes and tell them you will be going to another dental office - then you get a whole lot of attitude from them. Dr. Julius and the staff at Pacific Dental Group in Monterey Park have ALL been extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable, and patience with my elderly father at each of his 3 visits. Dr. Julius would come out to explain the procedure to me and also allow me to see the progress of the amazing work on his new dentures including the difference from his old ones (from another dental office) which caused him discomfort. She also explained to both my father and myself the proper steps for his continued oral hygiene, and answered and all questions we both had. Went there for five years spent over ten thousand dollars there. They said I had gum disease and I needed treatment. So, I went ahead. They gave me a treament and then two inlays. Then recently I just went there again and gave me another quote for three thousand and five hundered dollars. so, I finally went and get a second opinion and I ended up not needing eight percent of that quote. that the doc quoted me. Then gets worse I had an inlay that doctor Harmik Derhartounian gave me ended up breaking and had to get a crown now. I took to the quote that the doc from pacific dental gave me to the new denist that I choose, and he told me that he double charged me, and even worse charged me for teeth I did not even have. I just had my appointment today 01/18/2016 (went in for a regular checkup/cleaning) and had a bad experience- I have been going here for 2 years now and today all of a sudden I had gum disease and needed a $230 treatment (included a $50 discount). 2 stars because the Doctor was nice and had good bed side manner but the whole experience after I saw him went downhill. The Dr. told me I was doing a good job and had 0 cavities but that he had also done a gum check. Then his "salesperson" came by to tell me that I needed gum treatment which I declined. After her, came the second "salesperson" who showed me a folder with what would happen to my teeth if I didn't do the treatment- again, I declined. She insisted by telling me they could set me up with a payment plan. Again, I declined and said I would consider it in the next 6 months and asked for my regular cleaning. To my surprise- I'm only entitled to my cleaning if I do the gum treatment! WTH! So my appointment was at 4:30 and I got out of there at 6:16 and accomplished absolutely nothing!! (And mind you by the time I left, al the techs were gone so all along they knew my cleaning was not going to happen!! Ugh!) I will not be going back. read more
