Avoid San Remo Dental in South El Monte, CA -- don't waste your hard-earned money! I brought my wife here on January 24, 2025, to get a new set of dentures. After several appointments over the next few weeks, she finally received the dentures on February 24, 2025. From the start, the dentures caused her severe pain and discomfort. They were too large, poorly made, and completely unusable. She couldn't eat, speak, or wear them comfortably at all. When she returned to complain, the staff told her she just needed to "get used to them." That response was dismissive and unprofessional. On March 20, 2025, I went back to the office and returned the dentures because they were not usable. I also formally demanded a full refund at that time. We paid almost $3,000 for those dentures, and as of June 10, 2025, we are still waiting for a refund. They have refused to return our money, despite having the product back in their possession. This has been an incredibly frustrating and upsetting experience. We feel taken advantage of. I have receipts and documentation proving everything I've stated here. Where to start, well little about myself. After 2 kids and not taking prenatal vitamins my teeth suffered the aftermath. Self conscious about my smile, covering my mouth when I smiled or laughed. Day of my appointment I get greeted by lovely ladies in the front, fill out necessary paperwork. Get called to the back, X-rays done and then I meet Dr. Lugtu. He introduced himself, so polite and respectful. After general dentist questions he asked if I had any questions for him. I just responded with" help me smile again please". Warmth of his smile he said "Of course" After learning of the extensive work I needed to get done and literally thousands of dollars it was going to cost me. I was on the verge of tears. Thinking I can't afford that. Then Carmen front office calmed me down, and said they offer financing! She broke down the details of payment options for me. The best part no credit check! I had an emergency and this office schedule me an appointment that same day, while other offices I called couldnt squeeze me in on the same day. I arrived to the appointment and they took me in right away. Dr. Erchante was very through on my exam, he explained in detail what I needed. It turns out that the pain I was having was because I needed a root canal, he was able to do it that same day and it was painless. I also need other dental work and have scheduled my future appointments already. The entire staff was kind, understanding and professional. They also accepted my PPO insurance and they didn't charge me my deductible or co payment. I have found me a new and great dental office that I highly recommend. read more

When I came to the office I loved that they greeted warmly, the front office staff were professional and kind. I was very scared at first, I can not stand the dentist and would get very anxious very quickly but the staff reassured me that I would be okay, throughout the process. I came in for a check up on my teeth since I hadn't gone in about two years, (I know, disgusting ) on the bright side I take cake of my teeth and came out with 0 cavities . In the past week I had a lot of pain on the right side of my mouth and I let Dr.Green know where the pain was and he quickly recognized that he could remove the wisdom tooth that was bothering me (Saved me the trip to a specialist ) the procedure went very well and I experienced little to no pain So apart from doing a great job, this place has affordable prices (They also offer some great payment plans ) The ladies up front are all very professional and courteous! Well my review is way over due now, and I have been bringing all my kids in for cleaning and check up some regular basis, from the time you sign in the manager always greet you with such professionalism and always with a warm and welcoming greet.. as for the assistants they always make me and my kids feel so at ease and comfortable. I take really good care of my teeth, and I have very nice teeth and when I first visited San Remo I was a cash paying customer. the second year I visited the office I had dental insurance. once they discovered I had dental insurance they did a deap cleaning on my gums which I didn't need. As a cash paying client they had quoted me $200 for a deap cleaning. When I discovered the charge to my insurance, they charged my insurance $1,180.00 for the same 15 minute cleaning. Came here for the second time and I was really disappointed. My appointment was at 9 and ended up leaving almost at 11 when I only came in for a check up/ cleaning. I wanted a cleaning done and was told I didn't need one because I didn't have tartar even though it's been almost a year of not getting a cleaning done. There was a problem in the back office and the lady in the front was being so loud and rude to one of the assistants in the back, to the point everyone was able to hear. Really unprofessional and once I got my exam they kept insisting I get everything on the treatment plan done after I told them I was going to think about it for now. If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. I came here after my wife was given a flyer ( I later found out this was at the local swapmeet). They say they can offer cheap rates, but these are for cash payments, your insurance pays full price. My personal bad incident is when I went for my 2nd and last procedure. I informed them the previous time that I was swapping employers and my insurance would only be valid till the end of the month. They agreed and said they would take care of everything. I get a call a week into the new month from them stating that I owe them ~$72 dollars, due to THEIR clerical error and not charging the insurance. I went on to clarify this and even asked to speak to the office manager, who reassured that she would take care of it. It was not till a year later while doing my yearly credit report that I see that they sent off the $72 to collections. Add to it the fact that my new dentist stated that there was no need to do some of the work that they did, especially given the application ( using epoxy filling due to the aesthetics, even though it is not recommended by the manufacturer in a high stress area).
