Read the reviews for here. Let me tell you, what you read and what you get are two different things. Called and got a quote for plugs and wires. Ian ask year, make, model, cab size, engine size. Told him all of that. He quoted me $400 stating the price is due to the hours involved to do the work. Fine, scheduled and appt. for 9:00 am the next morning. Showed up, Ian on the computer. He's inputting into the screen, talking to me, asking if I want to add this or that or do this or that or how it might affect the work. I told him no to all of his questions. Now he needs the vin number. Goes and gets it. Puts it into the computer and then tells me my price is now going to be $230 more than originally quoted. I took my key and left. I then checked the local dealer, Bickford Ford for the same pricing with the vin number. Their pricing was $130 less than my final price. This company can eat garbage all day. I wonder if this is reflective of the owner? No company should do business like this. read more

I had an appointment in the morning to get an oil change and filter. I waited 3 Forking hours just to get an oil change and filter. When they were done, I got the bill for $193.50. WTF, let me break it down for you. $155.00 for Labor, $100.00 for parts, $15.89 total fees, Subtotal $177.04 and then there's tax of $16.46. Grand total $193.50. Almost $200 for a FORKING oil and filter change. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They will rip you off. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. read more

Every single time my family takes a vehicle to Lake Stevens automotive, something wrong ALWAYS happens! Incidents include one of our vehicles breaking down in the middle of the road bad enough that we had to push the broken down vehicle with another vehicle another half mile to our house to waiting for more than a week just for a vehicle to be fixed. I would keep going on how many times something wrong has happened every time we bring a vehicle to Lake Stevens automotive but I lost track a long time ago. I don't recommend taking your vehicles here! I personally would rather go to Everett to the car dealer to get my car fixed when needed. read more

I used to come here all the time. The owners were friendly and fair. Sadly, things seem to be quite different now. Last week the maintenance minder on my Honda gave me a message that it's time for a transmission fluid replacement. My last couple of experiences with their "service advisors" had been negative, but I figured I would give these guys one more try for old times sake, and called for an estimate. I mean, draining and replacing fluids is a pretty simple and standard service, right? I gave the person (Dan?) my make and model information and he said I had to bring the car in for a "diagnostic" (which is now standard with them, and which they charge for) before they could give me an estimate. I said there was nothing wrong with the car, I just wanted them to drain and replace my transmission fluid. Was told that they couldn't tell how much fluid they would need and the cost could be anywhere from $400 - 800 (or more)! Seriously? Now in fairness, I understand the need to charge for diagnostics (why tell someone what's wrong for free, then have them decline service and do it themselves, right?). I also understand they might not know exactly how much fluid, but they should be able to ESTIMATE by looking up the make/model and checking the specs. Finally, labor for this type of service should be a flat rate/book value, so easily quotable. Yet the best he could do was tell me anywhere from $400 - 800 (or more!!!) and the DEALER charges less than half his LOW estimate. I have held off adding a review thinking my last couple of interactions might have been one-offs, but after comparing my experiences with the other negative reviews here and elsewhere, it's clear to see that this not an exception, but is instead a pattern. I will never go there again, and recommend you do not either. read more

Monday morning I was driving into work when I heard a belt squealing. My van does that so I goosed the gas and it stopped. I looked down and the battery light had come on. Looked up and my dash lights and headlights were dimming. I was 45 minutes from home. My boss recommended Lake Stevens Automotive. It took time to find a tow but once in they were able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed by end of day. Thank You to the Guys that helped me out! I had a great experience with Lake Stevens Automotive. I came into the shop for a transmission fluid change and some other trouble I was experiencing with my vehicle. Kylar helped me turn my usual stressful and time consuming chore into a service that was quick and easy! He was very knowledgeable and helpful! I also loved that the billing was transparent, I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge. I have no doubt that I will come back again! I had a starting problem on our 1999 Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer. The local Ford Dealer was booked for the week, but the service mgr. Directed me to Jon at Lake Stevens automotive. He sure knew his stuff, a clogged mass air unit. Fixed it in one day and cleaned the sunroof drains as a freebie. Runs like a champ and the price was right. I took my car in Wednesday afternoon - to be inspected and fixed on Thursday. They didn't have it ready for me until Friday before close (rushing it out - because they don't work weekends). The check engine light came back on Saturday after driving it for more than 20 mins. They partially fixed the issues (check eng. light codes), taking them 2 days to half-ass the work that needed to be done. After diagnosing my car on Saturday, post check engine light coming on (codes P0011 & P0014), I ended up fixing the remaining issues myself. Additional con's: they aren't open on the weekends, and their costs for two oxygen sensors replacement was $663 - simple fix (like changing two light bulbs). I don't plan on going back. Mind you - this was only my experience. Pro's: The mechanic Josh was a sweetheart, and office lady Brandi was very helpful w/ excellent communication. read more

I can not say enough about the service, quality and professionalism they have. My 2014 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi had a flashing engine light and come to find out i needed to replace my engine. The team jumped on it and found me an engine and all the components and had my truck back to me in less then 30 days and under my budget. They did find evidence so i can take this a sue the dealership that sold me my truck. So Thanks to all the guys for an outstanding job. read more

Without the opportunity to read prior reviews or ask around, I dropped my son's car off last night for a water pump/hose repair. The shop didn't even know my plan but we were desperate for a last minute repair and my neighbor had told me he'd "heard" good things. Not only did they call me first thing in the morning to ask permission to make the repairs before doing it, they had the job done and ready for pickup just FOUR hours later!!! I'm assuming the price was right but again, we had no other options. What I do know is that they are professional, prompt and considerate. Although I hope to never need there services in the future, we'll be back for sure if that time comes. PS. Check their website out for an oil change coupon. Doesn't include disposal fee or tax but after all that you're looking at $29. Nice that they even offer such a thing. read more

I researched local automotive shops for my scheduled routine matinenance for my vehicle, and this shop has excellent reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I came in on Nov. 1 to schedule an appointment for an oil change, transmission fluid change, and rear differential fluid change. I provided my vehicle info including the VIN, I was given a quote, and an appointment was scheduled by the friendly woman at the front desk for the following Tuesday, Nov. 5th. I work graveyard shift, and my plan was to drop off my car in the morning, Uber home, and sleep, then Uber back to pick up the car after I woke up in the afternoon. I arrived just before 8am (my appt time) on Nov 5th. The male who assisted me was grumpy, and very unfriendly. I get it was early in the morning, but no excuse to be flat out rude. He pulled up my info on the computer and then proceeded to inform me that they do not have the transmission fluid needed for my vehicle in stock. I was quite frustrated, given that I had provided ALL my vehicle info days ago when I had scheduled the appt. I had incorrectly assumed they would have ensured the necessary supplies would be available for my appt, and I was frustrated that I had to change my plans now. The guy said he would call me when the supplies were available, as he had to order it directly from the dealer & have that fluid either delivered or go pick it up. He also informed me that the cost of the service would now be increased by about $100 from the original quote. I wasn't super thrilled, to say the least. So I went home to try to get at least some sleep, got a call from the shop around 11:30am that the fluid was now there, and dropped my car off at 12pm, they said they could get to it around 1pm. I Ubered home, slept some, and Ubered back when I got a call around 4pm that the car is ready for pickup. The same grouchy male took my payment and I don't think he once, in any of our exchanges, looked me in the eyes or even expressed any form of apology in any way, spoken or otherwise. I can say without hesitation that I will not be returning to this shop for any of my automotive needs. I was treated like I had done something wrong, and my day was disrupted despite careful planning to get this work done. Huge disappointment, and I was kind of happy at the beginning to be working with a local business for my car service needs. read more

My wife has been a loyal customer since around 2018 and this trip will most likely be the last. When a loyal customer offers to pay you over the phone and lets you know she cannot make it until around 5-10 minutes after 5pm and the manager scoffs at her saying the owners may be in a hurry to leave ya just have to think for a second, do I really wanna give this company my business. Nope. Not anymore. She needs her car by early Tuesday LSA, your lack of customer service will cost you. 1. Figure out a way to take payment over the phone or email or text the invoice for payment. 2. Don't scoff at any customer let alone a loyal long time customer for any reason. 3. Remember this, it's far more cost efficient to keep a customer than it is to gain a new one. Worst place ever! Do not trust them with your car, my 19 yo son went here and they basically charged him $331 to put in a new battery and not address the problem. The problem he went in telling them existed. When I called and spoke to brandy today she told me that it worked when he left, yes it did but Bz the problem isn't fixed the extremely expensive battery is now fried like the 3 before it. They didn't listen then or now and Brandy had the nerve to say it's like going to the store for a sweater and being mad i bought one Bz now I want jeans. Uh it's nothing like that. The kicker is they want to charge a whole other " diagnostic fee" just to re address the same issue. HORRIBLE PLACE. Horrible service and smart ass staff. read more

I've had Lake Stevens Automotive service my three family vehicles for 7+ years and would highly recommend them to family and friends. Finding a good mechanic you can trust is precious. I love the fact that the educate me on what needs to be done to my vehicle to keep it going so I can plan for maintenance expenses and downtime. They recently diagnosed and fixed a warning light on my dash that came on and would not go off. Nice to know they have a high moral compass as well as I feel like I'm never taken advantage of. It's hard to trust a mechanic with your car. They can generally tell you anything and unless you know something about cars, you just have to believe them. I know a little bit... don't tell me my headlight fluid is low, I did take 2 years of auto shop in high school, but cars are so complicated now! So it's a relief when you find someone you feel you can trust. Especially when your pickup is 16 years old. Someday I will get a new truck, but while I'm still nursing this old thing along it's good to have people like these folks around. Being a woman, it's not always comfortable going to the mechanic. They treat me like a... woman. LSA treats me like a PERSON. I don't hesitate to call or stop in when I need something. Normally I make my husband do stuff like this because I just don't like doing it. If you see my face walk through your door, or hear my voice on the phone, you know you're doing something right! I took my 1995 Ford F-150 in for a brake light. Ended up with 5 pages of estimates, everything from tires, to fluids and even an engine change quote! Which would have been fine if I had asked for that. I was quoted 950.00 dollars for the front brakes, they said my rotors were bad and my calipers were leaking. I decided to do the work myself, found the rotors had been replaced recently, not a groove on them, both calipers, were also clean, no sign of leakage or wear. I replaced the pads for 32 dollars and two hours of work. As a licensed mechanic for 40 years, I understand about liability and such, that go's along with brake systems, but I could not be more disappointed in Lake Stevens Automotive. My wife and I have brought our vehicles there for years. Unfortunately this time I felt they were just trying to make money off of us. Too many other shops out there to deal with this kind of customer service! read more

My husband has had a fierce loyalty to this shop since he moved to the area around 2006, they have always been more than fair and reasonably priced to boot. A couple years ago, we had a vehicle in around Christmas break, scheduled while we were out of town, and got a call, asking us to pay before the new year books, which we had no problem doing. My husband was shocked to get two "diagnostic" charges, which were about half a shop hour each, but it was hard to deal with while we were away. One item made sense, the other was for a belt we specifically asked to be replaced. When we got back into town, he chatted more and they were able to come to a compromise on the surprise charges. Since then we have been more likely to get routine things like brakes and alignment done at a big chain, but still considered Lake Stevens our shop. Recently, I called for 3 items needing repair on one of our vehicles. I was informed of new diagnostic charges, which are now in effect. Over $161 per individual issue for diagnosis alone. One is a broken rear wiper motor assembly and another is a repair needed on a rear defrost. They are very straightforward, parts needed repairs. The other is an engine light, which would justify a diagnostics charge, but one set that high as standard is debatable. If an issue involves lots of shop time to track down, I am happy to pay, but it is an absurd blanket rate. If revenue is low, shops should consider raising their shop hour rates to a realistic level and/or charging complicated diagnostics by the hour. This blanket rate is very off-putting. I did not schedule the repair and after speaking with my husband, he is very disappointed and says his business has been lost. read more

I came here to get a diagnosis for my vehicle due to its brake warning light coming on and off. I dropped my car off at 8 am in the morning and waited till about 3:30 pm before I called to ask for an update. The mechanic working (I believe his name was Casey) advised me that they had discovered the cause of the brake warning light and it was due to leaking front calipers . When I asked how much it would cost to repair, he advised that it would be 1500 including the cost of the diagnosis. That number seemed astronomically high so when I asked for a breakdown of cost, he said that they would need to replace the calipers, brakes and rotors. When I asked why they needed to replace pads and rotors if it was just the calipers that were leaking, he stated it was just their policy. Yeah no thanks. I ended up getting my car towed all the way to Issaquah to my old mechanic. Not only was it just one caliper that was leaking not both, but he did the job for 380 dollars including cost of parts. Pretty disappointing considering all the 5 star reviews and me wanting to support my community's businesses. But my old mechanic who I trust, was in disbelief when I told him what I had been quoted. I will say Casey was super professional and polite. He also ended up not charging me for the diagnosis which was cool of him for sure. read more

This place is terrible. They flat out lied to me about when my daughter's car would be fixed. They told me the parts for her car would be ready on Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday, then Monday, then they were hopeful for Tuesday. I went to the driveline shop that was repairing the parts, and they told me they told them the part would take a week when they sent it over. Once this place gets your car they will tell you whatever they want to keep your car there. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO FIX YOUR CAR. read more

I dropped my car off without an appointment on a Sunday due to an 'emergency' issue that cropped up on the road. (ruptured axle boot, which dumped oil all over my catalytic converter - almost started a fire). Lake Stevens auto was able to take a look at my car first thing Monday morning and give me an assessment. The required repair was fairly major, and ultimately I opted to take it to my local mechanic who had the specific part I was looking for. When I picked up the car from Lake Stevens, they did not charge me for their time and they even cleaned up some of the dropped oil so it would be safe to drive the distance to my local mechanic. I wish I could have given them the business and maybe I will have the opportunity to do so at a later time. I think this situation says a lot about their integrity and how they treat their customers. Hopefully this review will help steer some folks their way. Five star! read more

I'm in sales and I do a lot of driving. Recently I broke down at a customers house in Lake Stevens. He mentioned a shop that he had used in the past and said he was treated fairly. I live in Bothell so this was more than an inconvenience. I dont like being vulnerable but with little choice, I went with his suggestion. Long story short...somethings came to light that would have been a payday for a dishonest shop and a four figure repair bill.
