Marc and his team are amazing! I hired them to do my lighting for my wedding at Calamigo Malibu- Garden Patio (Ranch venue). The lights really made a difference in the room and brought the whole ambiance together. They helped me light up my dark ranch (reception room) into a glowing romantic glass house. Pacific Event Lighting added the perfect backdrop to our Hollywood Wedding. Maggie and Marc were amazing! We wanted to create a custom Gobo for our dance floor and the logo they came up with was so great we ended using it as our wedding monogram. We initially chose them because they gave us a package deal with our DJ and have worked with our venue before but, we didn't regret our decision for a minute. The lighting concept they designed for our outdoor space as well as the reception space was absolutely amazing and complimented our theme and décor perfectly. Marc and the crew did an excellent job for my wedding. The crew spent half of a day setting up spot lighting and market style string lights under a tent. They also added some accent lights to our cocktail area. Jeremy was our onsite tech and helped us with a few power issues, as we had a number of vendors using electrical throughout the night. He was able to make sure that the DJ, restrooms and caterers were able to operate without an issue all evening. read more

I was very disappointed with the customer service in the aftermath of my wedding. Marc schmoozed us at our venue's food tasting and vendor showcase. We really liked him and were not sure if we wanted any lighting but eventually decided to get a few chandeliers and some bistro lights over our dance floor. Leading up to the wedding the customer service team was easy to deal with and nice even though I figured we were not a huge client for them. Now, I wouldn't have written this review at all had I not encountered horrible service in the days after my wedding. First, there were some minor things that went wrong on the day, as I'm sure happens at all weddings. The ramifications were exponential however but I would not place blame on PEL for all of that. When the wedding was over, we got an email ASKING US to provide feedback about how they could improve. So, I did just that. I said that overall things looked great, but 1 thing seemed to be missing, and they disregarded my wedding coordinator's timeline. They finished their set up and left before the venue allowed her to even get there. The day before the wedding, our coordinator confirmed with PEL that they would arrive to set up when she got there at 3:30, but since Marc had a relationship with the venue, he went behind her back to get his team there early and they were completely gone by 2:45. As a result we did not know where some light switches were, some things weren't turned on, etc. It took time to figure it all out. I suggested in my email that they could improve by following the coordinator's timeline, communicating better with coordinators and that there is a trickle down effect and consequences to their actions. I was met with a condescending, aggressive response from Marc advising me to, "focus on the fact that you had a great weeding and try to remember it for the positive things. Im sure your on your way to some amazing exotic location for your honeymoon, so go enjoy, good luck and congratulations." Look - You asked me for feedback and I gave it to you. I don't want to write negative reviews but don't punish me for doing what you ask. If you don't actually want to know how you can improve don't ask. As for anyone reading this, just think about the kinds of people and energy that you want around your wedding and go from there. Even though vendors do hundreds of weddings for those of us getting married we only do it once and it is nice when our vendors at least pretend like they care about our business and our day. read more

Marc and his team did a FANTASTIC job turning my wedding venue into a dream wedding!!! He was able to beat a competitors price on string lights and paper lanterns while providing reasonable pricing for uplighting. I was married at The Athenaeum at Caltech University in Pasadena and Pacific Event Lighting set up string lights in the courtyard with paper lanterns just the way I had asked. Also Marc suggested carmel uplighting to accentuate the columns in the courtyard, I was not sure how everything would pull together but on the day of the wedding myself and all of our guests were amazed by just how beautiful the space looked. Instead of the 1920s garden estate I'd planned on, our new venue was very industrial. Pacific Event Lighting came highly recommended and exceeded our expectations. They worked within our budget (stretched thin from the surprise venue change) and transformed the museum into a magical place. When I first entered the reception area, their work blew me away! Strands of golden café lights crisscrossed the room set off by softly lit round Chinese lanterns. Marc and his crew are terrific. The way they lighted our venue - the banquet room at Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, really set the scene and tone of the entire event. When the event was over at 11 p.m., his crew was back to take down the lighting because the venue was having another group in the following day for another event. Pac. I went to an event that Pacific Event Lighting was involved with and it looked really good. When I called them for a quote to do my own wedding they beat around the bush to give me an actual quote. In fact, they never actually gave me a real quote. When I explained that all we needed was the string lighting for our event, they refused to give me a quote or even communicate any further since our DJ was already doing the uplighting. If I hadn't told them that our DJ was doing the uplighting then I don't believe it would have been an issue. I don't think that the way they handled it was very friendly or professional, and it was just a way to get out of doing a "small job". Either way they would have gotten paid, but apparently it wasn't worth their time. Not very good customer service or communication. read more
