Ok so this was my first visit to this place and I guarantee it will NOT be the last. For context, I was camping with my son's boy scout troop on Silver Strand and it was hot... really really really hot. I wanted to grab some delicious and refreshing treats and found this place on Yelp with incredible reviews and had to give it a shot. First of all, you'll need to resist the temptation to order EVERYTHING on the menu because you could easily eat and drink your way through the whole thing. I went with the mangonaeda and bought one for me and one for my son. The nachos looked awesome and while it wasn't exactly in the "refreshing" category, a boy's got to eat right? The fruit was delicious and the chamoy straw is always a treat. I'll be honest, I almost didn't make it back to camp with the second drink because it was that good. Now let's talk about the nachos. Don't you hate it when you see an incredible pile of nachos and all the topings and goodies are on top and they're virtually never and more layered throughout the chips and by the time you get to the bottom, you've just got dry chips? I hate that. Well apparently these fine folks didn't read that recipe book and there were so many jalapenos and so much cheese I actually ran out of chips before I ran out of the toppings. Winner winner! I found my acai bowl in the South Bay! My favorite is in Senior Mangoes in North Park but it's too far now and parking is too hard. I've been looking for a place that has the simplest acai bowl with the classic toppings. Bananas, strawberry, mangoes, granola, coconut flakes and honey. **February 2024: Monday Morning Visit** I hadn't eaten a lot of fruits and veggies on this San Diego trip so when I saw this little shop down the street I decided to pay them a visit. The store is really colorful on the inside and there were a couple of chairs/tables for patrons to dine in. I was very curious to try their chamango and other Mexican treats, but I was thirsty so I opted for a fresh made to order smoothie. I ordered a medium Passion Berry $6.30 which was a mix of all things berries (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries) and my friend got a medium Dragon Fruit (with strawberry/bananas) $7.30 (premium drink). So I haven't been here in about a 5 years since my bro moved out of the apartments across the street, but damn! This is still my spot. I got the chicken sandwich, which comes with fruit and a lil mini salad and it is delicious. The meat, veggies and fruit are all on point. My girl got a turkey torta (which does not come with the fruit and salad, just a heads up) and she was not disappointed. Trying to find a Chamango in the Bay Area is hard enough (we have Mangonadas, which are similar, but different). I figured since I was in San Diego, there would be more places around me that had it. After checking on Yelp, I found one. And with 5 stars! I was skeptic, but still wanted to give it a shot. Luckily, it was also down the street from Tacos El Gordo, which is one of my usual stops when I come back home to visit. The place is in a small strip mall. There are a few tables inside (but no public bathroom). The counter and kitchen is all sealed off, with just a small window to place your order and to pick up your order. The menu is actually fairly big with a lot of choices to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Of course I went with the Chamango, and I even went with the large. Glad I did. Not only was it huge, but it was THE BEST Chamango I've ever had. It was super smooth and it tasted really fresh. It had the perfect amount of chamoy and seasoning. They also chopped up fresh mangoes and put it on the top, so when I was done with the smoothie, I had a nice treat of mango chunks. My only complaint is that they need an extra large size! LOL! Lastly, the ladies who work there are super duper nice! As busy as it gets, they are always super friendly. Definitely, one of my first stops when I come back to San Diego! read more

I also order their beet juice with tons of lemon my brother and I are obsessed with it and it's always fresh to order! We where craving fresas con cream and found this little shop. We ordered fresas con crema Escamocha Esquite The fresas and escamocha were delicious but the esquite had so much water it was like soup.
