I arranged for In Depth Home Inspection (IDHI) to inspect my Mother's home recently. It is actually…read moremy childhood home and Mom has lived there for 44 years now without an inspection. She wanted to get it done simply because one was long overdue. My Brother-In-Law had IDHI do a home inspection for a new house he purchased five years ago and highly recommend them. My experience with IDHI was nothing short of awesome! Greg is very quick to respond to emails, calls or texts and has all the answers. You can tell he has been doing this for quite some time. His knowledge of structures is only enhanced as he is a retired firefighter and spent decades working in and around all kinds of structures. On the day of inspection, he arrived 15 minutes early and we went over any prior areas of concern before he began doing his inspection. My Mom's house is a simply 1400 square foot single family home. Greg spent over three hours going over every square inch to include ALL attic and crawl spaces, the roof, and under the house (which I am convinced nobody has been under since we moved in in 1981. He has all his own equipment including ladders, stools, protective shoe coverings and overalls. In addition, he takes dozens of pictures and videos which he gives you on a thumb drive at the end of the inspection. He also goes over everything in detail at the end and I had an emailed copy within two hours after his departure. He even followed up the next day with another email to ensure we were happy and understood some of the deficiencies that need to be addressed. Greg also has recommended contractors whose work he has spent years inspecting on other homes, e.g., we knew we needed a new roof and he had a solid recommendation (again, he's spent years inspecting the guys work). Long story already long; I will continue to use In Depth Home Inspection LLC as long as I need inspections done and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone else.

As before, he was very thorough, great at giving the breakdown of all the inspected details as well as providing a summary at the end. I received the detailed inspection by email in the evening and it had all the useful detail I recalled from when he inspected a previous home back in 2015. I have a big-picture idea on what needs to be addressed right away, and what projects/services I need to consider for the long-run so that I can maintain this (potential) new home well. That's a great peace of mind to have, especially these days! If I were ever to go through a home buying process again, I would hire Lee again without a doubt. I noticed some of the lower-rated comments because I was genuinely curious why Lee didn't have 5 stars. To follow up on one of the posts, I never received spam from being placed on a mailing list. Yes, there is a service offer that comes directly from Lee (this is different from a list), but nothing outside of that. Like the other negative reviews, I would not recommend. He didn't follow certain requests, even…read morethough he said he would. He also tried charging me for something I didn't request. Since the inspection, I've discovered some pretty obvious defects, which a "professional " would have noticed. That's probably why he didn't meet me at the appointed time and went early so I wouldn't be a witness to his incompetence. He obviously is just going through the motions and doesn't take any pride in his work. Hire at your own risk.
