They originally came out to my office in Waipahu. After the initial visit, they were accommodating for future adjustments in mask/nose pieces and eventually a new mask. I eventually needed a humidifier as my nasal cavity was really dry in the mornings. Unfortunately, they are not open on Saturdays, so I had to take off work to go down to their office. I got a new hose because it had a chip attached to use with the humidifier. read more

I've had an extremely frustrating experience with Pacific Island Medical (PIM) Inc. When they initially came to my home, the convenience was great, and I expected the rest of the process to be just as smooth. Unfortunately, everything after that went downhill. I confirmed that they can bill my secondary insurance (CHAMPVA) even without a contract, but they repeatedly chose not to. I emailed Emma (the manager) and left multiple messages requesting a call back--no response. Since June 2025, I've gone back and forth between my insurance company, PIM's front desk staff (including Shayna and others), and their billing manager (Cassie). It is now November, and no one has returned my calls or attempted to resolve the issue. I've had to call week after week with no progress. I provided PIM with the exact website and billing address required to submit the claim. CHAMPVA accepts claims from any licensed provider willing to submit them, yet after months of communication, PIM ultimately decided they did not want to process my claims at all. Unfortunately, they can operate this way because there are very few CPAP supply companies on the island, leaving customers with limited alternatives. However, there are companies in Honolulu that are willing to bill CHAMPVA. With many years of experience in healthcare administration, I never expected this to be the outcome. We always submitted claims to show patients that we tried, and if coverage was denied, we discussed payment arrangements. That is basic customer care. This shows a lack of regard for their customers. Before obtaining any equipment, make sure your insurance is contracted with PIM. Otherwise, you may end up responsible for the full cost because they refuse to bill insurance--even when they can. I did not understand what she was saying regarding My deductible when I tried to ask her for additional information she kept saying that I already told you the way she was explaining it sounded like I was gonna pay more for it if I went through insurance versus buying it outright, I tried to get them just to give me some straight figures and then they refuse to talk to me. She just wouldn't even ask me even though I had calmed down and tried to get more information. Very disrespectful would never recommend this company it is not a good place to go. read more

My moms dr faxed an RX to Pacific Island Medical (PIM) back in May and PIM claims they never received it. PIM is not a store so don't expect enter one. It's a warehouse with an office upstairs and you are not able to enter the building at all. I would highly recommend you calling PIM to make arrangements for pickup and payment so that will make your wait shorter. Whatever happened to me today was not at all funny. First off, they told me my item was mailed. I said how can you mail my item when I was told that it has to be paid before it ships? ‍ after much digging, they told me it was the wrong order. Then they couldn't find my paperwork. Whatever the problem was, it took long. And they couldn't tell me what the problem was but leave me waiting outside in the heat. So I drove off with my dog to grab done lunch . When I returned (it wasn't more than 10 mins). I was standing outside again being ignored. So, I acknowledged the worker and said hey, where's my order? So he starts looking for it again. And goes up to the office and doesn't return. Long story short, I ended up getting my money back. Loved the location of the other provider (CMS), but tired of being bombarded with phone calls to reorder supplies to the point that I had to block their calls. Pacific Island Medical is locally-owned and the aloha and service show it. They will make HOUSE CALLS to get you into your new CPAP machine! So don't let their Kailua location deter you from giving them a try. Pamela came to my home in East Honolulu, was personable and patient. Forms that I needed to sign that weren't provided at the time were quickly mailed to me. Jackie has been so pleasant over the phone, explaining insurance compliance requirements. I needed some supplies for my CPAP machine so I called them up. I spoke with someone who asked me if I'd like what I ordered before. I thought it would make it easier so I said yes. What I got in the mail was everything I ordered with some duplicates. Anyway it wasn't a big deal since it was under a $100 but the chin strap I wanted to return because I had no use for it as it was flimsy and maybe lasted for two months. I went back to the store to return the item and my new receipt was almost $300. I asked how the bill went from $100 to $300 after returning an item. They gave me some BS about making an error on their side. I now make all my CPAP purchases through Amazon.com or FSA store.com so I don't have to deal with human error. I commute between Honolulu and Long Beach. I've been with PIM since 2014. They've always been very accommodating in sending my supplies where I'll be. I retired from my job as a pilot for United Air in 2020 and didn't think I'd need to see my prescribing Dr. anymore. I was just offered a job and needed the data from my machine. I do very well with airplanes, but not so much with CPAP machines. I thought instead of carrying my machine back and forth, I'd just bring the SD card. DO NOT DO THIS!! I had my Dr. visit and uh oh, only the last data showed up that was on my Hawaii machine, the FAA needs 360 days of data to confirm my usage. I left and immediately drove to PIM. I'm so grateful that I was able to meet with Jessica. I was distraught and sure my blood pressure was soaring. She calmly helped me and explained how to have my wife back in LGB set up a new card. The card arrived, I took it to Jessica and no data. Once again in a calm way she explained what I needed to do. Mahalo Jessica, I thought my dream of this new "hobby job" flying wasn't going to happen. Thanks to you, I'm heading back to take my FAA physical. My doctor prescribed me oxygen for an non-life threatening, acute condition. He told me that insurance probably wouldn't cover it. I called about five medical supply companies and Pacific Island Medical was the only one that would rent me the oxygen without being covered by insurance. It was surprisingly affordable. I only needed the tank for a couple of weeks. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the process of getting the tank to my house was fast. Hopefully, you won't need oxygen but if you do, consider this company! read more

SIgh. had a prescription for a new cpap to replace my ten year old model several months ago. I called and they said they have the presecription and just stop by. I couldn't get there for various reasons and a month later, I called to ask if I could still just stop by and was told rather gruffly that it doesn't work that way, I explained what the previous person had told me and the new person said, "oh no, that's not how it works. When the prescription comes in, which I see it just came in today, we will contact you." It is a month later and I still have not heard back. Fortunately the ten-yr-old machine is still more or less working, kind of. Will call tomorrow. This was supposed to be done months ago and has turned into a bit of a fiasco. read more

Excellent customer service. I had to reschedule my appointment no problem. Scott was the technician that delivered my machine. He was clear, patient and thorough about how to clean and care for the machine and parts. He was very helpful and personable and I didn't feel rushed as he went over the directions on how to use the machine. There is a lot of paperwork that needs to be filled out and Scott provided a folder for paper work and handouts regarding my CPAP device. If I could give a negative rating, I would. I faxed the prescription to these people over and over. Wendy never knew what was going on. For over a month they kept asking for more information just to fill a CPAP mask order. They demanded a complete sleep study analysis, with notes prior and after the study. They demanded patient "particulars" but refused to say what those "particulars" were. Lisa once called, after hours, and said "call me back" and that was the extent of her information. So for a month these people kept me waiting for a CPAP mask. After a month, Wendy finally told me "We don't have a contract with Medicare for this prescription." Well, I guess I can figure out why Medicare won't sign a contract with them. Just horrendous!! read more

Do your homework before going to this company for a CPAP machine. Call your insurance carrier and get a price quote on your co-payment part before you get to your appointment. I paid out $160.00 on initial visit and $55.11 for the next 3 months before returning the machine. I bought a new machine on the web for $250.00 from a CPAP supply company and it was the same exact machine. I was supposed to pay $55.11 for 13months and then I would own the machine. I should have done my research before going. They told me the machine cost about $1200.00. I would have paid out a co-payment of over $700 in the 13months. A lesson learned. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. The billing is totally insane and inconsistent (when I even get a bill). And when I call to talk to them about the bill, I get the run around. Nobody seems to be able to answer simple questions -- like what the various charges mean. What is the difference between "submitted charge," "insurance payment," "discounts/adjustments," "invoice balance," and "your portion." And why did the charge for the CPAP machine suddenly jump $20.06 each month? It's the same machine that I've had, so why suddenly am I being charged more for it? It's not as if I got an upgrade! I got a CPAP machine from them November 2017 the technician came down to my home and showed how to use a care for the machine which was great. But 3 month later when I needed supplies I got an automated call followed the prompts and waited for the supplies to come in, none. I called in April to find out where's my supplies, they tell me if I wait till May 7, 2018 I could a full resupply instead of a partial supplies. The person said as soon as May 7, 2018 comes they will send out the supplies. I got another automated call for resuppy on May 13, 2018. I called today May 18, 2018 and they still have not sent the supplies they claim some items were backordered but came in. So I told the person I'm not satisfied with this service and answers, she told me "you like the supplies or not". I don't need that kind of unservice, and will change vendors soon as I can find out how to do this. Looking at the Yelp reviews this company is not doing it's job of equipment service for long term medical supplies like items for CPAP machines. read more

I've been a customer since before 2000, using their equipment and supplies for CPAP. The technical staff have always been highly efficient in providing me with the necessary equipment for my sleep apnea along with any supplies when I need them. They also provided setup of other equipment for oxygen for my father when he was diagnosed with cancer, setting up his breathing equipment to be comfortable at home before he passed on. It was comforting to know their staff is hard working and respectful for the patient and family. I know they are always take care of my needs. The administrative staff are most helpful whether it be for coordinating supplies and billing. If you have need for medical CPAP or oxygen equipment on the Windward side, I would highly recommend them and I do believe they cover other parts of the island as well, since I live on the Leeward side of the island.
