I contacted Yarrow since they were the only company with all 5 star ratings, others were good but there were a couple of ratings by people who didn't receive 5-star service so went with Yarrow and now I understand WHY they have all 5-star ratings. He (a veteran so I was happy to support him!) responded, booked and got to my place quickly after 1st contact. He was respectful and diagnosed the issue quickly, thought it was another issue but when he came back to install and pulled the washer completely out, he realized it wasn't the issue & had the parts to put swap out some little motor which he said "This will be cheaper" and I always respect service providers who are honest. He could have easily installed the valves he originally thought the issue was and charged me for that AND told me about the other issue and fixed that and charged me more BUT he was honest and saved me some $ and fixed the issue!! I will always call him in the future!! He also helped to clean out the dryer vent as much as he could and recommended Firemen Dryer Man to clean out the rest - love that business and happy to give them my business. read more

Mr. Yarrow cannot come more highly recommended; I may be singing his praises for the remainder of my life and recommending him to absolutely everyone with ears. We called him this morning because our freezer was frozen over and the gasket was not making contact, he came out the same day and walked us through the basics of what was the cause and did not upsell or over charge us for one thing! He even counseled us on some do's and don'ts with our current washing machine and dishwasher. My icemaker stopped working. Jeff, whom I had done work with in the past, quickly got me scheduled, he gave an accurate time window, texted me to confirm my staying available before showing up. While on-site, he was quick, professional, respected my space, quickly diagnosed a few aspects of my fridge and suggested a repair which I accepted. He ordered the part, and we got scheduled 2 days later. Unfortunately, the part turned out not to be enough, and it appears the issue is a lot larger than anticipated. Without asking for a refund, I was gracefully refunded my repair and parts (part alone costs around $190 online, I checked for the lowest cost) charge. So, while the issue was not resolved in my particular case, Yarrow Appliance Repair stood by their guarantee and without hassle nor us asking, we got refunded promptly and now we can save up for (possibly) a new appliance. I had a problem with my washer, which required a part replacement, and he fit me into his schedule the very next morning and was in and out in about 45 minutes. In addition to his expertise with repairs -- and the way he explains, in detail, what he's done to fix the issue -- he's extremely knowledgeable about appliances in general and is more than willing to share that knowledge (in a helpful, efficient way). Nothing but good things to say about my experience here. My practically new washing machine was completely dead. I called Jeff and he very quickly came out on a Saturday and accurately diagnosed the issue. He couldn't get parts on a weekend, but had them the next business day and got my washer back in business. We had Jeff Yarrow over to look at our ancient Kenmore kitchen range on which one of the igniters, serving two burners, had ceased to work. We looked inside and saw evidence of a resident mouse, which we suspected might have chewed through wires. Jeff examined the stove with a practiced touch and declared it not worth fixing, and why, but in the process of examining the stove, wiggling wires (and identifying a loose one), voila! the malfunctioning igniter started working. I've done enough electronics and small appliance repair myself to know that sometimes, all that's necessary is to take off the cover, look (usually in vain) for the source of a problem, and put the cover back on, and the problem has magically disappeared! I call it releasing the evil spirits. Well, Jeff had the touch, and we paid him extra for his visit for "wizarding". While he was here, he gave us a master class in the current state of the home appliance industry - what's good, what's not, and why, and what brands and features to avoid, and which to look for. We'd have him back for appliance repair in a New York minute! His price was quite fair, and the education he gave us was doubtless worth more than we paid him.
