He installed two can lights and a dimmer switch in my home office and a dimmer switch, wall sconce and an art light to illuminate some pottery on a shelf (see photos) in my living room. Professionalism - I've had contractors in the past who may have done reasonably good work but we're unprofessional. Jeff was just the opposite. He came to my home so he could more accurately quote the job instead of simply asking me to send photos like some contractors. I was glad so I could point out and discuss things that might have gone missing in photos alone and get his expert advice. He was prompt each time he came out and responded to texts. Some contractors are technically skilled but lack good communication skills. When I asked questions, he was able to clearly answer in a way that I could make good decisions, even changing preconceived notions, and not left wondering if the job would be done haphazardly. Workmanship - I selected Jeff because in my interaction with him, I felt confident that he's highly experienced and knows what he's doing. He did exactly what we agreed on with a clean installation of the lighting and didn't leave a mess. Another example of what I appreciated about his work is that in all the places he had to make cut outs in the wall to run wiring, he replaced the drywall cutouts and recessed the screws to enable the drywall person to do a cleaner job of plastering (see photo). He is very meticulous and it shows with the finished work as it looks brand new when he's done. The most recent work he did was to re-texture and re-paint a ceiling that was damaged by an upstairs shower leak.
