CUSTOMERS BEWARE: Disorganized company, terrible communication, and worst of all the OWNER IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Find another local electrician! After a negative experience with the owner, Joe Casillas, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on 9/24/2025. As of 10/2/2025, J Casillas Electric is yet to respond. Problem: The owner will not honor their word or written contract with the customer. We have a written contract with Joe Casillas Electric (JCE) for them to perform work on September 24th, 2025, however JCE has refused to do so. Proposed Resolution: To remedy the situation, I am simply asking for Joe Casillas Electric to complete the work that we agreed to, with the materials that we agreed to, and at the price that we agreed to. The details are expressed in a written agreement dating August 21st, 2025. The agreement stipulates that 1 inch conduit will be used and that the price is $1,350. Additionally, the conduit should be metal, not PVC. Timeline: In August 2025, we receive a recommendation for Joe Casillas Electric from our neighbor. We call and schedule an estimate with Joe. Joe comes and provides an estimate of $1,950 for the job. Renee, a receptionist at JCE, calls us to ask if we wanted to move forward with the estimate. We tell her that we are seeking multiple estimates and that we will get back to them. Joe calls me and offers to price match another estimate. When I explain to him that another estimate is $1,350, he voices doubts about the validity of the estimate and says that the other company must be using cheaper materials like PVC conduit, as opposed to metal conduit, and that it is ¾" thick. He asserts that his estimate reflects metal conduit and that it is 1 inch thick, but that if I can provide a copy of the estimate that he would verify it and perform the same quality work that he promised at the price of $1,350. Of note is that in reviewing the first estimate that he provided on August 13th, 2025, there is no mention of the thickness of the conduit. On 8/15/2025, I receive the revised estimate and I see that ¾" conduit is listed as the material to be used. I call the company and explain to Renee the conversation that I had with Joe about his skepticism of the lower estimate and that it seems hypocritical to voice concern over another company using certain materials that you are using in your own work. Renee agrees and says that it must be a mistake that she made and that she would correct it. On August 21st, 2025, I receive the updated estimate and it reflects the use of 1 inch conduit. I agree to have Joe Casillas Electric complete the work and I pay the required deposit. We schedule the job for September, 24th, 2025. On September 23rd, 2025 I receive a call from Renee and she asks me if someone can come by in the next 15 minutes to measure to see what materials they need for the job. I speak with the workers while they are here and they mention that they plan to use PVC conduit, not metal conduit. I explain to them what transpired with Joe and Renee, and that metal conduit needed to be used. On September 24th, Joe's employees show up to complete the job and they bring ¾" conduit to do so. I ask them what happened and they said that Joe told them to get ¾" conduit. Being that this is not what we discussed or agreed to, I speak to Joe to see what is happening. He tells me that "we should be fine with ¾" conduit." I ask him to honor his word and our contract by using 1 inch conduit. Joe claims that he doesn't like my attitude, that he talks to a lot of people so he can't be sure of what he said, and that it would be best for me to find another company to complete the job. When I try to explain to him what happened, he hangs up on me. Shortly thereafter and still on September 24th, 2025, Renee calls me to return my deposit. I ask her what happened and said that I didn't deserve to be treated like this. She responded saying that she is "not sure what's going on with Joe." When I continued to express my frustration with Joe and what I've been told, Renee hangs up on me. read more

I just had my electrical panel updated to separate my stove and refrigerator breakers. The team that responded were on-time, very friendly, super efficient, and worked very hard to thread the wiring from my attic accross my vaulted ceiling that didn't have crawl space. They made a couple holes inside the cupboard above my fridge which is perfectly concealed. I feel very satisfied with their work and now at ease that my major appliances are safely connected and It's not a fire risk due to an overloaded circuit. Called to have electrical issues addressed. Explained that new GFCI outlets kept tripping. Electrician had told me that he charged $125/hr. Said he needed to run a ground wire approx 8 feet. Told it was quick and simple job. It took about 10 minutes. He went into check GFCI and was attempting to finish wiring. He cut our newly wired electrical inside by accident. He had to work into old junction box already there. I told him that I was not responsible for that new work he created. He told me that I would not be charged. Owner then proceeded to charge me $450 which included the extra wiring (mine) to fix his mistake. Bill never corrected. Took approx 20-25 minutes total. Let hot wires uncapped, sticking out of junction box, uncapped and no plate. I will be paying $150 which I believe is over paid. Spoke with owner who reluctantly agreed. EDITED:Now is lying, harassing me and treating me with court. Says it's not his company/worker. I have numerous pictures and video from before, during and after.
