Several weeks ago, we replaced our 15 year old dishwasher. As the installers removed the old one, they told me that we needed to have a GFI electrical outlet installed under the sink for the new washer. We called HG Electric, who had done some work for us before, but they were out of town for a few days. So I called another electrical contractor who could come out that same day. After they installed the outlet, I had the dishwasher installer come out. They installed it, and pushed the d/w start button and the GFI tripped. I called the electrical contractor and they sent the technicians back out. They poked around in the attic, and told me that the breaker panel needed to be rewired. They did it, but the GFI tripped again. They told me that they needed to rewire the wiring through the attic from the kitchen to the breaker panel for another $2500. I was uneasy since we had never had any electrical problem. Greg from HG Electric called and said that he had been out of town. I asked him to come out and verify that the kitchen needed rewiring. He came out the next day, examined the dishwasher outlet installation, the breaker panel, and climbed into the attic to examine the wiring. His diagnosis was that there was nothing wrong with the installation or the wiring. He said that the dishwasher was already on a separate circuit. We cycled the dishwasher power several times and never received another GFI fault. Greg told me that sometimes the GFI will trip for no apparent reason, and for me to reset the GFI should that occur. I have confidence in HG Electric and its owner Greg for any electrical work that we might need. read more

I made a request for a quote for a service 6 days ago - specifically wanting a quote from them because they had such good reviews. Ultimately, I didn't get a quote from them in time - while many of their competitors reached out to come check out my situation and give me an estimate. Today I finally hear back from my quote request with a response of "other; unable to service." I'm pretty disappointed with them for a few reasons: 1.) it took them nearly a week to get back to me; 2.) they could have given me more info after making me wait almost a week instead of what looks like just clicking some button. It really just struck me as a company that doesn't care if they got a new customer - and to me... that seems like a company that doesn't really care if they get return business from a customer or referrals from a previous customer for good work done. I would highly recommend HG Electric for any electrical work you may need. I had an issue with a circuit breaker panel at the house. When Greg initially came out, the outlets the panel was connected to suddenly started working after being down for a few days. Because of that, Greg couldn't troubleshoot and fix the problem. He didn't charge me for the visit and he let me know to notify him when the outlets were down again. He came back when the outlets were down and was able to fix the issue within 5 minutes. I highly recommend Greg. We had an issue with our living room & dining room ceiling lights both not working. I described to him on the phone how it happened, and he seemed to have an idea of what the problem could be. He arrived I and gave him a quick spheel of our place and the lights. Right away he went to work on our dining room lights and within MINUTES [when I say minutes, I mean maybe 1-2 minutes. Maybe less because I was multi-tasking with work] he figured out the issue and the lights turned on. Turns out our dimmer switches were crap. Similar with our living room lights - again, it took him mere minutes and the living room lights started to flicker on again. Didn't take long at all for him to replace our switches and ensure our wires were secure sense our living room light had a loose wire as well. He was done with everything in about 40 minutes. Greg and HG Electric team are the BEST! Greg went above and beyond (x10) in helping us get our new home setup and fixing numerous things we needed to have done. The list was long but to name a few: we had 2 fans put in with wall remotes, every outlet (plate and receptacle) in the house changed, power updated for a fridge, stove and hood we had replaced. He fixed every bathroom fan and light in all 3 bathrooms and hallway lights. Plus lots of outside outlets and GFCIs we needed in the kitchen and backyard. Really, the list goes on and on. He even made sure to note where we needed an additional fire/smoke detector and offered to put that in (but we are having home security system come and they will provide that additional detector) and he made sure that all of our outlets were child proof too! Greg and team also put up 2 flush-mounted lights for us (in a dining area) that I purchased on the internet and once the lights were up I realized were too small, so he kindly took them down and he will be returning to hang the new larger ones (and a 3rd fan) once those have arrived.
