When I moved to Seattle from NYC and saw this place across the street, I was pretty amazed it existed. In New York we have small hardware stores, but Seattle is such a driving town you would think everyone would go to home depot. This store competes on excellent customer service. Every time I have a household issue, I cruise on over and get some pretty amazing advice. I have never been there and not found what I was looking for. Great shop! read more

We've used Pacific Supply for years in our apartment buildings. They have everything the older buildings need to stay well maintained. I particularly like their drain product, called Hair Away. This is the only place in Seattle you can buy this product, which is safe for older plumbing. We use them for period wall sinks, lights, bathroom fixtures, you name it, they've got it. Super friendly and they'll deliver. Parking can be a hassle, but you'll find dedicated spaces behind the building where you'll have to navigate a fire escape style staircase up to the retail level. A great local hardware shop that is not evil. What more can you say other than avoid Lowes like the plague.

Skip the drive in your gas guzzler to the mega mall. They may not have everything due to their smaller size, but they can order anything. The staff is ever courteous and attentive if you need help finding something. This store makes me feel at home, and there is no stress because I can ride my bike there. read more

I Had a great experience here in the middle of a rough day. I was trying to replace my license plate on my car: two screws to undo, so should take 5 minutes. the screws were ancient and rusted (or maybe bolted from the other side?). I ripped one of them in half, but couldn't get the other. I was trying to figure out what to do and the staff was very helpful. in the end one of the employees (manager?) told me to pull up my car, helped me get the second screw out and then drilled a hole into my new license plate for me so i could mount it. It's nice when they spend 30 minutes of their time to fix your project-gone-awry so you can drive off safely. 5 stars in my book. read more

This place is pretty convenient, and does have an impressive variety of goods. I have no idea how the prices compare to other hardware stores, but it saves you the cost of paying for the Light Rail. I was served by a younger man who was pretty nice and tried to help me, until a pretty grumpy older man asked him was he was looking for, then gruffly said "We don't have it" and walked away. It would have been nice if he had suggested where I could have gotten it, or simply tacked a "Sorry" onto that statement. But, the Seahawks had JUST lost some important football game so everyone in Seattle was in a bad mood. I won't hold it against him. And they had the other thing I was looking for. read more

This is such a cozy little old-school, neighborhood hardware store. The guys who work there are very helpful and also cute! When I went in yesterday they had a box of Krispy Kreme donuts on the counter for customers, which was definitely a plus. read more

My friend recently opened a business in Capitol Hill and we have to make a lot of trips there for little things like nails, markers, tools, etc. They have it all and the people that work there are SUPER helpful. Best part is they are super conveniently located. read more

These jokers wouldn't copy my key because it says do not copy on it. Last time I checked, any hardware store will do this. Didn't believe that I owned my new address? Wasted a bunch of time looking it up online, so I finally gave up and walked out. I'll be avoiding this place from now on, what a bunch of newbs. I'm so happy to have a hardware store in Capitol Hill. I much prefer going here to schlepping out to the horrible box stores. The prices are great. If they don't have what I need then they are willing to try and order it. I'd much rather wait a couple of days and have the convenience of picking stuff up near home at a good price. Nice little local hardware store with friendly and helpful staff. I ran over here a few times during our remodel because they're in the neighborhood. It's not fair to compare it to a big box hardware store because it's small, and in my neighborhood. But do expect to pay a bit more, and for the selection to be a bit limited in comparison to the chains. Great to drop in for small, everyday things, but not as helpful for bigger, more specialized projects. read more

They have a true sense of service, good knowledge of what they sell, and don't hesitate to educate the ... more innocent customers among us: a RARITY these days! They consistently go out of their ways to make things work for us.They seem to enjoy taking time to personally connect, from human to human, if time allows - I have enjoyed interesting conversations, similar to the European impromptus I am familiar with. I live across the street from this hardware store, so I'm there at least once/month. The guys are helpful - especially when you need DIY tips and product advice. If you don't find what you need, they have a web site that delivers orders to this store every Tuesday. I get all my garden supplies here. They copy keys & have a good selection of kitchen, cleaning, painting, plumbing, lighting and hardware. I'd rather spend at a local business than going to Lowe's or Home Depot where it's tough to find products & they offer little useful advice. read more

Not a bad little store for your basic hardware needs. Don't look for some kind of Walmart rock-bottom low price guarantee here, but it definitely isn't an arm and a leg. Tons of replacement things like doorknobs and light fixtures. And not to mention screens for old windows, that's why I went there. Was only $10. read more

I was just in the store on my lunch break and watched one of the store clerks yell at 2 customers and tell them to "get out" after they questioned why the service was so slow. They were two men of color and probably were trying to make a quick purchase and then grab lunch. They left immediately without saying anything and the store clerk continued to yell about it to another clerk. He was swearing and calling the customers names. My friend and I were so uncomfortable with the interaction that we just left. This seemed to be an example of a microagression and I felt very bad for the way the customers were treated and then continued to be treated after they left. read more

The first time I went here they did not have what I needed, but the staff was very friendly. The second time I went here, the staff was also friendly, but suggested an item that did not work for my wall hanging needs (damaged the wall). I called to ask about an alternative and the man answering was slightly rude. I walked in about 10 minutes later to hear the same man making fun of my questions across the main entry of the store to the clerks at the register. He later asked me if he could help, and I somewhat snidely said "yes I am the girl you were just talking about." This went over his head. He continued to be condescending and kept correcting my 'hardware vocabulary.' I commented on his rudeness, and he said nothing. He did the whole pause, look at me with a condescending expression, and smiled somewhat smugly when I asked if what he suggested instead was the right size for my hanging. He assured me it was and would not damage the frame, and said he had used it for the exact same product. Later, at the register, he actually mocked my earlier purchase for the same job. The clerk at the register stood up for me saying it had been his suggestion. Forward to me arriving home with the 'expert's' suggestion. The nails went through the frame by a couple centimeters. Bad day for the employee? Hopefully, because I have never been treated so poorly at a hardware store, and to boot I now have a damaged frame, damaged wall, and the hanging still can't go up because the nails simply slide out of the hard plastic material (Again, the same material I showed him). read more
