Hitting is hard. But hitting at Pacifica Cages is great, with L-screens, Tanner tees, a folding chair, a bucket of real baseballs (!), and a 3 dial hack attack machine in every cage (except lane 4 for pitching). I play mens league ball and hit 4x/wk for a 100$/mo membership, which is about $6 PER HOUR!! It's a 15 min drive down scenic hwys 35 & 1 from me in the Sunset, and the cool air and scenery come in handy after reviewing my gawdawful swings on video sometimes... I've always been a mediocre hitter, but now I can finally get the reps I need to build some new muscle memory and start hitting better. read more

Super friendly staff and a great place to get some solid practice in. My son and I really enjoy coming here to prepare for his baseball games--it's become part of our routine. The only small suggestion I have is to find a way to keep the cord securely connected, so we don't have to keep reconnecting it during sessions. Otherwise, this place is awesome! read more

This is a great place to take your kids to improve and hone in their skills... I been going there for couple years to just use their cages and pitching machines. But recently I started working with one of their coaches Joey and it has been great... he was working with my 13 year for a few sessions and he was really enjoying himself and was improving... I decided to have him work with my 10 year and he also really enjoyed himself... all I have to it's a great place to help teach your kid or if you needed extra assistance you can count on their coaches... also I'm from the city and it's worth the drive!!! read more

Pretty great experience at Pacifica Cages - reasonable hourly rental prices for batting cages! Also, bought a pair of batting gloves / they have some related equipment available for purchase. I have mixed feelings about this place. This review is only for the batting cages. First, I'm not a fan of shagging my own balls. Secondly, the bats and helmets they have available are pretty worn down. Some bats barely had any grip. Third, I wish there was an extra staff available to show us how to work the pitching machine. It took awhile for us to adjust to the right height and speed. I do appreciate that they use actual baseballs instead of the softer balls. If you plan on coming here, might want to bring your own bat and helmet. read more

Interesting set up of this facility... When you walk inside you walk into a store. This is where they sell baseball/softball stuff --- gloves, bats, uniforms, etc. We wanted to go to the hitting cage which is through a hallway on the other side of the building. You pay by the hour. For the most part, one cannot go alone. Here, you have to shag your own balls. One could dump all the balls in the feeder and then run off to the plate to hit. We had to calibrate the machine to get the right height on pitches and the feeder wasn't working, hence my suggestion that you can't go alone. My uncle stood behind the net and kept feeding the machine balls so we can hit. Of course, they provide helmets and bats. I prefer the token approach so we weren't having to chase balls but I was with family and we had a great time together. We ended up going over our time but they lady behind the counter didn't mind that we overstayed the welcome we paid for. It's a fairly clean facility that offers baseball and softball cages. There's also a dirt mound where legit pitchers can practice. read more

This place is my spot for improving my baseball game. There are a handful of great instructors who can help you work on your game, no matter your age or experience level. I did a few lessons with Cade and it really improved everything about my swing. I just purchased another round of lessons to improve on my throwing technique. I wish I had a place I could go to like this when I was younger, playing in youth baseball. The pricing here is super inexpensive, especially if you plan on purchasing a monthly or 3 month plan. I take may take advantage of my membership a little too much; getting in at least an hour a day during the week. Some of my favorite perks about this place are the fact that you're hitting actual baseballs (not plastic balls), so you can actually feel when you make good contact. There are tees set up in each cage. This has been huge for improving on my swinging mechanics and learning where to hit each pitch. You can set up the machines to your preference; right hand curve, left hand curve, fast ball, change up (whatever you want to work on). If it's slow, sometimes the instructors will offer to throw to you. It's great getting live pitching, instead of exclusively hitting out of the machine. The facility also sells all of gear you need, including all types of bats and gloves. They've also got a couple couches and a television, if you want to just hang out and catch a game. I believe they also sell alcohol, if you're trying to get real comfortable on the couch. read more

My boyfriend and I had a blast! We were running late for our cage reservation (do you even call it that? lol) but Ryan still managed to get us in. Once we got there, he was super welcoming and helpful! I had a bad knee injury and wanted to switch from hitting right to left. I used the yelp discount to get a 3 lesson package with Jason. He was knowledgable and helped me improve my hitting on both right and left sides. Well worth the money. Bad thing is they do not have a slow pitch auto feeder. The cages are like new and very well kept though and they have had someone who would feed me balls so may be more a personal preference issue. read more

We also really like Pacifica Cages. My son attends the Monday night hitting class for 6-8 year olds. Instruction includes tee work, soft toss, some group instruction and individual pointers to the kids. Coach Alex is knowledgeable and most important patient with such young players. The amount of instruction varies with that nights attendance, some nights your child will get more at bats ..its all dependent on the night. I have seen anywhere from 5-9 kids. Never in my life have I paid for a batting cage where I pay $$$ to run around and shag my own softballs. That is completely non-customer friendly. There is no batting cage in San Mateo County that makes a customer run and collect balls. Especially for the price that we are paying for your service. I think if we have to run around and gather lie own balls for batting practice you should have a front end person and one in the back available so that pie batting practice can be effective and we get our money's worth. read more

I was very impressed with the place, as well was my 9-year-old son. I went in to just have my son practice batting and ended up deciding to get a half hour batting lesson for him. All I can say is, that it was money well spent, I learned a lot too. If I only I could get my kids to listen to me so well, but I guess that's something all parents have to get used to. If your kid is playing baseball get him a few good lessons. My son learned as much in 30 minutes as I've taught him in 5 years ( I'm exaggerating just a little bit, says my ego) I don't know these guys from Adam, But, being a fellow business owner and understanding the importance of reviews. I've got to comment on these last two poor reviews staring me in the face. Yeah, we had to pick-up our own balls which took all of about 2 minutes if that. But, that was fun in itself, we got a system down and my son learned a little more coordination. If given the choice I'd rather gather my own balls than rather than not. As far as the atmosphere and "people hanging out on the couch. This is a place with a family atmosphere, it's not Nordstroms. I think it's cool that, kids can go hang out there. As far as attitudes, they go both ways. I doubt this guy's making a fortune running a batting cage business and contrary to belief the customer is not always right. Rather than see or hear any bad attitudes while I was there for a few hours yesterday and then again, today. I am writing this review because I was so impressed with their good attitudes ( we must have dealt with 6-7 different employees and or owners) both with my son and with me. I also question why the only two 1 star reviews these guys have, were posted on the same day about similar issues. 1-star reviews are for business's that don't deserve to be in business and get an attitude with their customer's when they've screwed, up rather dealing with it. I run a adult co-ed Slow Pitch softball team. Due to the weather, we've been unable to get onto a field and hold an actual practice. I was referred to these cages from an ex-teammate, so I figured why not try it out. I was amazed. The people who run these cages are awesome. They let me and those who were with me know what time we'd be able to get in for a cage that was set up for slow pitch. We were in there for about an hour and we managed to use that hour up fully. They also had a nice little waiting area with an XBox 360 set up, so that if you were waiting for a cage, you still had something to help kill time with. I would definitely come back here again. Reservations aren't necessary, but recommended on rainy days. read more

This review is long overdue. We have been taking our son to the cages for the past several months. We couldn't be more pleased with the staff, coaches, and facilities. All of the staff has been extremely accommodating and supportive of my 9 y.o. son. If he has any questions, they are happy to help. Riall Moore has been an amazing coach! He's knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. The monthly memberships are definitely a good idea and deal. As far as shagging our own balls...I don't mind at all, and I think it instills a responsibility to clean up after yourself. And it takes max, 1-2 min to do. Sometimes we make a game of it, and see how far we can get back and make the balls in the bucket. It is what you make it. I highly recommend Pacifica Batting Cages!! read more

My son has just started his 2nd month here at the Cages and it is really starting to payoff. Last tournament his on base percentage was .765 as the lead-off batter. Whether it's T-work, soft toss then Live or getting in some bullpen while a lane opens up...there is always room to workout. Coach Gentile and staff are always quick to address our needs and goals. Had a surprise party for my husband here, and it was the perfect spot for it. Staff were so helpful in planning and setting up the party. During the event they did a great job working with the kids in our group, especially. Everyone ages 6-66 had a great time. There's plenty of room for food and mingling in the observation area outside the cages. The staff were so helpful with every request we had. Definitely recommend as a party spot for baseball fans of any age, or just a great place for batting practice. read more
