Update: Now I'm starting to get involuntary spasms in my chin, making it look like I'm about to cry. It's also very uncomfortable (like a Charlie horse in your chin). I looked it up and this happens when the mentalis muscle isn't properly injected with the neurotoxin. Yay. Hoping this stops soon and isn't a long-term side effect. read more

I came in for fillers and LUKE was very kind and informative. At the beginning of my consultation he explained what would look better for me. He was very precise through the process and did an excellent job on my face. He improved my symmetry and nasolabial folds drastically. I went to Dr Berkeley Skin -- I believe now called Pacifica Medical Spa -- for Coolsculpting with Sonja and I have to say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I'd been considering it for a while so I got a consultation, and she walked me through everything and answered TONS of my questions. I got an amazing deal because of a special they had that month, so I got enough for 3 treatments that I did over 4-5 months. During the actual Coolsculpting procedure Sonja was SO COMFORTING, like she genuinely cared if I was comfortable and feeling okay. The treatment is non-invasive but it is freezing your fat so it can be uncomfortable for the first few minutes and at the very end. While the machine was on me I literally watched TV on my iPad and relaxed. Sonja checked on me throughout to make sure I was all good. Sonja did all my treatments, and now I'm sad I used them all because now I don't get to go hang out with her! She and Theresa both called to check on how I was doing post-treatment. (Pro tip: Wear Spanx that cover your treatment area for like a week). My before and after photos don't lie. I was initially hesitant to post this review because now people will know I got Coolsculpting done, but whatever, IT WORKS!!! There is a visible difference that only got more noticeable over time. It does take a few weeks minimum to see any sign of results but there will be results! If you're curious just get a consultation with Sonja and ask all your burning questions. Do Not Go there. Totally screwed and robbed me. I wanted fillers for my smile lines but the nurse there told me she has to inject it in my cheek bones to pull it up. Afterwards I had 0 results. Then I was told your skin is too deep you need more than one syringe. OK? but you couldn't tell me this before? I was robbed over $640.00. I spoke with another RN and she told me that in order for her to pull up my smile lines filling in my cheek bones I would need at least 4 to 5 syringes on each cheek. Lets see $640 x 5 = $3200 per cheek. She should have been honest and said that's what it will take instead of taking my money. Or she could have told me she is not experienced to do this. I was literally robbed. Don't go there unless you have tons of money to spend on their experiments. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a customer. I visited Dr. Berkeley's spa for a facial just before my wedding day. The aesthetician was very friendly, but she was aggressive in an extraction right on my cheek. I left with a big red spot on my cheek, which by the next day turned into a large and hideous scab. By the wedding day three days later, the scab was as big as ever and impossible to cover up no matter how much makeup I tried. I am not especially high-strung about my appearance but this was pretty upsetting--I spent $150 to get my skin glowing, but instead I was left with a big black scab front and center on my cheek. Before the wedding one of my friends actually asked me if I had skin cancer. Yikes. But the worst part was yet to come. The day after my wedding I went back to explain what had happened, show them my scab and my awful wedding pictures, and ask for my money back. The receptionist told me "we don't give refunds." I explained that I thought this was a special circumstance, and asked if she would please bring this up to the owner and call me back. I got no return call so I followed up myself, and was told again that they would not give me a refund. They had the audacity to leave me a voicemail explaining that "your skin must be really sensitive"--basically, they told me it was my fault. (I don't even have slightly sensitive skin, and in any case I had told everyone in the spa that I was getting ready for my wedding and the aesthetician and I spoke the whole time about the wedding coming up in a couple of days.) Finally I resorted to asking my credit card company for help. They negotiated a refund directly with the spa--although Dr. Berkeley was still so cheap they insisted on only refunding $125 of the $150 (my credit card company was nice enough to apologize for them and offered to pick up the remaining $25). I was shocked that Dr. Berkeley refused to make right on a horrible service that ruined my skin on my wedding day. This happened several months ago and I still have a prominent scar from the scabbing this caused. I understand that it was an accident but I couldn't believe the owner did ot immediately apologize and refund my money. Amazingly bad customer service. There are plenty of other day spas in the area so save your money and your skin and head elsewhere. read more

Good products, but this people have been trained to get as much money out of your pocket as they can, even if they have to use shady techniques. They got me into a special promotion rebate... and made me believe I could send the paper on the mail after the dead line date, as long as I got the treatment done on time. So I did.. and never got my $100 rebate! When I went back to tell them in a very polite and peaceful way what it happened, the manager basically offered me another promotion that they offer to everybody and in which I would have to end up paying $200, and try to make me beleive that it was just for me, to make up for the other rebate.... Gosh! Their attitude is too arrogant and, like car dealers, trying to sell you anything, and insulting your intelligence! Again: good products, bad attitude with customers. I came here for the first time to get a micbrodermabrasion. The esthetician (Mariyeta) was super nice and explained the whole process thoroughly. The room and equipment are very clean. There is very soothing music playing in the room and the lights are turned down low to ensure complete relaxation. Being the first time, I really didn't know what a microderm would feel like. This little vacuum type of thing strips away dead skin. There is no pain at all. Then you'll get a couple of masks put on, which might burn. The last mask soothes your skin so you don't walk out of there looking like a tomato. The whole day my skin was very sensitive and I had to avoid sun and make up. It's the day after and my skin looks good, but this isn't a miracle. I can tell the first layer of skin will slough off. I will be going back a couple more times to get my skin glowing :) read more

I'm one of those people who apparently was in the "no brow" line instead of the eyebrow line and by the time I realized it, all the nice eyebrows were taken and I've had to make do with the measly ones in the "take 'em or leave 'em bin." So, I've had to make do by enhancing them with eyebrow pencil for all my adult life. And let me tell you, I became pretty adept at doing it too! But, lo and behold, I found the Fairy Godmother of eyebrows in the the AMAZING Jackie Hoylrod, at Dr. Berkley's Skin and Body!! This lovely lady is indeed a master of her craft and she has the certificates to prove it too! Whether you want to enhance what Mother Nature blessed you with or start from scratch, the micro blading technique that Jackie does is in my opinion, hands down, the way to go. I've gone here for several years to have laser hair removal on my face and neck area. After trying out several places, I settled here for several reasons. First, they have great equipment. It's hard to find places that have the best lasers and know how to properly treat people of color, and I think Dr. Berkley & staff does an excellent job. Second, the atmosphere is great and I've always received good customer service. And third, I think they have really great prices. I pay significantly less here than what I paid in Texas. I had my first visit for lip fillers last month. It was my first time ever getting anything done, I was so scared as to what I was getting myself into I just really knew I wanted them. Everything from the consultation to booking the appt was a smooth experience the front desk Diany was extremely helpful and made me feel so comfortable she knew what she was talking about and was so knowledgeable. This review is for both Jackie Hoylrod and Sonja Jackson at Pacifica. I am not a big Yelp reviewer, but these ladies are so outstanding, I must spread the word. First, Jackie: If you are even mildly considering microblade for your brows, know that Jackie is the real deal. To be honest, I went to her because her Yelp reviews here were so amazing. Jackie is a true artist. If I were tech-savvy enough to send a pic of my brows, I would. You would be blown away by how natural and beautiful they look. I am a 53-year-old and former chemo patient--my thick, dark brows never grew back. I'd resigned myself to a life of bad brow makeup...until I found Jackie. Now people look at me and say, "What did you DO?" Ha! I don't do much (see below re Sonja). But the brows make me look--I kid you not--5-10 years younger. One last note about micro blade: Ladies! Don't freak out! The first week is flat out weird! Your brows look clownish and it's kinda not fun--not gonna lie! But just be patient. Within 7 days everything mellows and your gorgeous brows will reveal themselves. OK. Onto Sonja. Sonja is magic with a needle. I don't do a lot of injectables--just once-a-year under eye fill and a few times a year neck. That's it. (I like my face wrinkles--go figure!) For years I went to a prestigious center in Beverly Hills, but I decided to check out Pacific because it's very close to me and the Yelpers were on high. Wow. Sonja! Not a bruise. (Sonja says bruising isn't about the administrator, but I'm not so sure. I always bruised...until Sonja.) She uses just the right amount. Since the laser place that I use to go to closed down, I've been treking to the valley for my treatments. A friend recommended this place. I read on their website that it's owned by a doctor so I felt comfortable getting my treatments from them. Nurse Sharon has been doing my laser hair removal treatments on my arms for a few months now and I'm very happy with my results. She's gentle yet very thorough with her work. I also get Lipoplex injections and I've gotten their Myer's IV cocktail a couple of times now to help with my hangover. The staff is very friendly and they have free parking. read more

Freddy is the BEST. I always come here for anything I need and I always go to her. She is exceptionally wise on what I should and shouldn't do. She helps and recommends the best products to use and is an angel when working with a specific budget that you may have. Besides being an absolute joy to be in the room with, she does her work carefully, and beautifully. The picture below are my lips before and after. I also go to Freddy for smile line fillers. At a younger age and already having smile lines I've always been soooo self conscious, and after getting them filled I have a new confidence I never knew! You can trust her to be very honest with you about if something is too much. The spa is going through a change of ownership, which can be confusing. It used to be "Dr. Berkeley's Spa"; now it is called "Pacifica Medical Spa." JACKIE Holryod did micro blading for my eye brows. A consultation prior to booking is free. She took her time showing me what she would recommend and explained everything. She was calm, patient, professional and kind. I booked for the procedure which is two appointments, one month apart. Everything went well both times and I am thrilled. If you go, follow the aftercare procedures she recommends. When you leave your first time, ask for a little numbing cream. You can put it on prior to your next appointment so you can go in on time. I came to Jackie for permanent makeup. Eyeliner, eyebrows, lip liner. She is very professional. She has a big heart and just goes out of her way to make you happy. I'm here to tell you I AM HAPPY! The last time I saw Jackie was just a few weeks ago. I asked her to tweak my eyebrows and lip liner that she did in December of last year. She had no problems with that and did not charge any more. It is just part of her wonderful service. I have had other people in the hair/beauty profession that say Jackie did a terrific job and it is so realistic. When others in the industry compliment you, you know Jackie is amazing. I have referred people to her - hopefully they will go. All I can say is I am Jackie's customer for life! As an aside. Sharon was very helpful, informative, gentle and very good, I loved the results without question, However there was an older lady with brown hair working the front desk who was VERY rude, 1. She spoke very loudly and rudely over clients and doctors in the front reception area because they were quietly conversating and they "dare" disturbed her while she was on the phone (She interrupts and speaks rudely on the phone to clients btw) 2. She asked me what gratuity id like to add when she rung me up for my Botox procedure (didn't know you're supposed to tip your doctor????) tacky tacky A. If u have to ask the clients to add gratuity on top of a medical procedure, the doctors arent getting paid enough @ that facility (doctors don't equal waitresses, strippers, massuses etc. right? Doesn't a decade in medical school / college earn them a salary that shouldn't require it!!!!!) 3 . When I asked how much the usual tip is for this type of procedure since I had never done it before, she got really flustered, annoyed, took a condescending tone with me, and made me feel very awkward and super uncomfortable. This is just a nutshell of awkwardness and Ew this lady added to my experience The last thing you want to have happen after getting needles poked in your face is to deal with a pompous, disrespectful, person, Great results like I said, but if I could offer 1 piece of valuable advise to this company is to take that mess away from the front desk. #bad for business read more

She did nothing but insult me the entire time and I left much more tense than I arrived. For me, the goal of spa services is always to relax. So sad to have to update my review and change it to one star. Mainly because of Christina. Tot I have been coming to Dr. Berkley for many years now. I'm 43yo and decided I was going to go around with Valuma. I'd noticed changing in my upper cheek area. I scheduled the appointment with Debbie (sub for Sharon) when she walked out and I saw her face (Chipmunk cheeks) I started to cancel the appointment. I decided to move forward with this procedure after two long years of research and thinking it through... Not to mention some hesitation because the balls of my cheeks are already so pronounced. I specifically stated to her that I did not feel I needed any more volume in my cheeks because I didn't want to look like a chipmunk....She went straight for the balls of my cheeks any way! She injected more in one ball than she did the other.... This caused my face to be lopsided. Not only that, there were small lumps in The sites where she injected. One of my clients is a plastic surgeon...she took one look at my face, did some feeling around & informed me that Debbie had injected in the wrong spots... And that one chick is bigger than the other in the ball area. "This Debbie lady clearly took zero measurement of your face. There is ZERO product at the hairline area where you need it the most" My client stated. I did have a few other consultations and that's what I was told as well...I Thought about it for a minute no she had not measure..She also didn't massage the product nor did she sculpt it in. I could no longer smile. When I did, my cheeks pushed my eyes closed...my face just looked fat and distorted. This is a nightmare, as you can imagine, we are talking about my face here! There were dents on one side under my eye....still are... Flat on cheekbone area... Chipmunk cheeks (I already had) now even more pronounced. Just like Debbie's. A total disaster. I called Dr. Berkley and requested to speak her...the staff do not want to allow you to speak with her. But this was definitely something she needed to know about, seeing as though, I send a lot of my clients her way... Nonetheless, I still have not heard from Dr. Berkley personally...and I've left 2 messages. She has called me back in the past. She is gr8! Someone was also supposed to call me back to schedule with Sonya, they never did so I called again. I scheduled an appointment with Sonya... whom I love..,in an attempt to fix the problem. Sonya tossed a few options at me and one of them was to dissolve in one side. Really? I spent upwards of 2600. Sonia also managed to get a complementary syringe of Valuma for me. The lumps were still there three weeks after Debbie had injected 3 syringes. Now a 4th was being added by Sonya. I'm not sure where all this product went. Maybe It's just bad product...Sonya tried to fix the botched Job that Debbie had done. I went about my business and once the swelling dissipated from the repair work Sonya has preformed )her side was perfect) and the other side was even more noticeable. Now you can totally see the difference. One side of my face looks popped forward and the other side is completely lifted and perfect (Sonya's side) I am in a full on panic at this point. I had been b I called last week, left a message for Sonya and did not get a call back. So I called again over the last weekend and got her on the phone. She said she would resolved and she will contact me on Monday. It is Tuesday now so I called in to speak with her today. I was told by Christina (Rude) that sonia will not be in until Thursday and she's booking up. Well I have an event on Saturday. And someone was supposed to have called me back yesterday. I cannot go any longer with my face distorted like this. I told Cristina. Then I asked to leave a message for Dr. Berkley. She did not want to do that at first. I told Christina that I'm very concerned because my face is clearly not right! Christina proceeded to just talk over me, In the end saying "2:45 tomorrow Dr. will see you then OK goodbye" and she then hung up. I'm sorry I didn't ask for a 2:45 appointment...so I called back. First she did not answer so I called back again. She answered and asked me to hold on and I said yes because 2:45 is not working for me. As I was speaking she again, rudely spoke over me "THANK YOU" and placed me on hold. I held on for about 5 minutes and then I hung up. Called her back to let her know that I did not want an appointment at 2:45 and that Sonya does not need to contact me. (They clearly aren't delivering messages anyway) Christina said "all righty" and hung up...:/ I won't be going back there EVER again!!! I do not recommend injectables there unless you have Dr. Berkley do them. I do appreciate the attempt by Sonya to fix this problem. I did pay extra for the juvaderm tDebbie listened to me...and took the time to Measure my face, draw a line or something on it...we wouldn't be having this issue. A bit overpriced on perm makeup, The machine hurt big time, I couldn't take it, and the results are gone after 2 years if that.

After doing extensive research and consultation on stylist that does permanent makeup, I decided to go with Jackie who works at Dr. Berkley. I had previously got my eyebrows done many many years ago but it has since faded and a few places I called refused to take me in b/c I had it done at another place already. But Jackie was really nice. She wanted to see my previously done eyebrows to see if she can help me. After the initial consultation, she said she can help me. She also asked if I want my eye lining and lips done also. I had seen other people with pretty pink permanent makeup tattoo lips before and was thinking about it. She pencil in my eye lining to show me what I would look like with and without and ask me to think about it for a few days before I get back to her on what I want it done. After much consideration, I decided to get brand new eyebrows done and add eye lining and lips. After 2-3 tattooing in each area, I walk away sooooooooooooooooooooo happy with her work. Jackie has been amazingly friendly and professional and was able to work with my odd schedules. I'm so happy and would definitely refer friends to her for all permanent makeup needs. I don't know about any other bad reviews on here but a skim through them shows all great reviews for Jackie. If you do go, ask for Jackie. :) read more
