Great place to stop. Beer was great. Food was also very good. We were camping there that night on a motorcycle trip. It was very hot and we hung out most of the afternoon at the Brewery. Best place in Packwood to hang out with your friends. Folks working there were very nice even with a very steady amount of customers. If it is not as hot, there is an awesome outdoor sitting area with an Ice Cream stand. read more

Location was good as it was pretty much the only decent thing in town. Beers were pretty good. Nothing to write home about but decent. Chorizo Nachos were great and the star of the meal. Tacos were subpar and lacked flavor. We got the steak, chicken, and carnitas tacos. All were very boring and tasted like reheated meat with little additions. Chicken quesadilla was edible. Much better than the tacos. Moral is, come here for beer and ice cream. Get dinner elsewhere. read more

Fun brewery in a town in the woods. They have some seasonal beers which I always love to see at a brewery. And their pale is a pretty good beer and they're stout is pretty good. Everything else is kind of okay or at least my palate didn't like it that day. I think they're serving food now which I didn't know we were going out to dinner afterwards. I'd be very interested in that. As well as their renting the rooms above the brewery I think as an Airbnb style thing? The Saturday night we were there they had an amazing guitarist out on the patio who sang songs and was very entertaining was just enough entertainment to let you sit and have a good time but not so loud that you couldn't talk. Stopped in on our way back from a weekend trip. Guy at the bar was nice and patient. Love that this place has several different ambiances in one place. Have normal bar like seating, a homey area with couches and pillows and board games, and an awesome outdoor area where people can bring their dogs, there are fire pits and looks to host areas for local vendors to set up shop. Today was jewelry and ice cream. They also have a live music schedule. Looks like they may also have a kitchen, but was closed while we were there. Excellent brewery and one I didn't know about until I went to Wingman Brewing in Tacoma and saw that they had a guest tap there. This is just before Wingman announced they were closing. I really enjoyed Packwood's beer there and wanted to make a trip to their actual brewery in the near future. Which is exactly what I did. Beautiful drive from Tacoma to Packwood added a lot of enjoyment as we knew our destination would be rewarding since we already had Packwood's beer. This was in the summer and the brewery as well as the whole town was very busy and popular with tourists and motorcyclists. Probably because it was summer and close to Mt. Rainier. In fact there was a bit of a line to get served but the staff was used to this and got customers through in a very efficient manner. I had two beers at the brewery here. One was their Helles Lager, a favorite of mine this past summer. This Helles didn't disappoint in the least and was light, clean and crisp. Perfect for the warmer weather. The other was a little more unusual and that was an altbier of theirs. Once again very good, flavorful and refreshing! I'd love to pay a visit to this brewery again and it would make a great pit stop while exploring the Mount Rainier area. read more

Packwood Brewing remodeled the old Save More Store No. 2 into this cool looking brewery and gives you the only hope of liveliness in an otherwise quiet town .The space is huge , with plenty of seating indoors and a nice outside space complete with fire . They have benches, bar stools and couches and lots of games to keep you occupied . The drinks and food need to be ordered on the bar and they call you once its ready to be picked. Not the best food you can get for the price but we did really like the atmosphere and the openness of this place .Their Carnita Tacos really needed some seasoning and salt , but the Chicken tacos were OK as was the Hazy IPA . The Guac and chips were bland and boring . The Live music was great and we were really impressed by both the singers , they single handedly upped the fun quotient of this place . read more

If your gonna charge $4.50 for a taco, it shouldn't be 3 bite street taco sized. If your going to call it carnitas, the pork needs to have some crisp to it. What you're serving is stewed pork (see Taco Chronicles on Netflix for some tips). But at least the server forgot to hand me my drink when I ordered so I got to wait in a nice long line of dipshits asking how hoppy the beer is to get it. Packard ain't no culinary hotspot. Really cool/fun place with lots of games and indoor/outdoor seating. However, both nights, we were SOL for food. The first night we got there right at 7:45 and they would no longer serve the full menu. The second day, we went at 5 pm and they weren't serving the regular menu. It's nice that they have a beer garden menu, but after a long day of hiking, a hot dog isn't going to cut it. They claimed they were restocking but I find it hard to believe that they ran out of every single item on the menu. Dozens of people ordered from the beer garden menu and nothing ran out there? Just seems like they didn't want to be bothered. We were there at the end of July during peak tourism season for Rainier so I don't see how they wouldn't have figured out how much they need of what and when. We must've seen 50-75 people walk up and leave because of the lack of food. The brewery must not care to make money. They also stopped serving from 6:30-7 even though they're only open for four hours. Really cool place/vibe and it has potential but the lack of food after a long day of hiking is a complete buzzkill. read more

First the good stuff: Lemongrass ginger cider was good and the beers were decent. They had outdoor seating. The bartender was friendly-ish Room for improvement: The "food" was either corn chips with an overly spicy, nasty tasting cheese dip or a very over-priced pretzel with the same plastic cheez dip. ( not 100% sure it was a food product) So if you only want a beverage, this place will be fine. If you want food too, might want to look elsewhere read more

After 30 + years of blasting through Packwood after hiking, fishing, or skiing, I found the town finally has a great apres-sport stop. Great selection of beers and ciders on tap and really good simple foods. Their street tacos are amazing and the quesadillas are delicious.
