Pacos Tacos is one of those places you call home, a hidden gem, located in multiple places around the city. This place is a first thing you have to do if you come from out of town or if you are a permanent resident in chicago. Its an iconic location to eat an incredible meal and it top of that you have the rare opportunity to interact with the chef, while cooking your tacos, right in front of your eyes! The best tacos on the south side all of Chicago. Been coming here since i moved to the city. My go to is the steak tacos with everything on the them, onions, cilantro, a touch of lime and don't forget the red and also green homemade salsa. The meat is so soft and I love the flavor that comes with every bite, Very genuine. If you are still hungry, for seconds i have to go with the barbacoa tacos, those are even better and so tender. specially with a cold Jaritos for a drink. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of my life it would recommend these tacos. I've been coming to this place for years and i will never going to stop, this a place for the soul and heart. I can tell you you have a reliable costumer for life.

If you're looking for tacos and need something quick and delicious, Paco's Tacos 2 is a great place to stop at! They offer a variety of tacos, tostadas, burritos, and tortas. While they're prices have gone up to almost $5 per taco, the quality of the food is still as great they were before! Note that street parking is limited because its location is on a busy road.

I was a big fan of their al pastor from their archer location, but this locations tasted a bit different. Perhaps it needed to be cooked longer, but the meat was to moist and not enough tenderness. It still had a good flavor but not what I remembered. I also ordered a lengua taco. It's pricey at $4 a taco but a very good tasting taco. The tacos here are huge and definitely worth the price. Their service is very quick here. Their staff is not the friendliest nor the most welcoming but still get the job done. We sat at the counter watching the cooks make their magic. They also offer carnitas and chicharron at a different counter at a very decent low price.

After a day of running errands, why not end it with some authentic, good tacos? I've been to this restaurant once before and it was good but this time it was DELICIOUS. I ordered chicken and steak tacos. Usually I am skeptical about chicken tacos because most places serve dry meat which takes away flavor but these were great!! Both the chicken and steak were flavorful and they give a nice amount of meat. Customer service is 10/10. My cashier was fast, the food was ready in about 3-5 minutes and accurate! I will definitely be revisiting this establishment.

For the north-siders, suburb dwellers, and out-of-towners, Paco's tacos, in my book, are worth the drive! I no longer venture often to the south side of Chicago, but I get my taco fix whenever I am out and about in the neighborhood. Out of the three (3) locations, the seating in "Paco's Tacos 2" is the most ample and has their own parking lot (even though the space is quite limited). Hubby and I found free street parking right in front of the restaurant without encountering any difficulty. We came here during the Sunday dinner rush. However, the wait was reasonable because the cashiers and cooks worked extremely fast. I got my usual picks: tacos de carne asada, barbacoa, y al pastor ($2.75/ea., as of 01/13/2019). I felt the prices gone up when I hesitated whether or not I should get the lengua, which was $4. Oh well, that really wasn't the deal breaker; I was just "tongue-twisted." Anyway, hope some of you got my humor. I surely will get the taco de lengua, after I acquire my next paycheck. Overall, I was satisfied with the taste of all three (3) I ordered in this trip. The meat was juicy and tender. I love how much lime juice every time I saw a cook pour onto the meat while grilling. I love limes and anything lemon-y. With that being said, that could have been the reason why I am diggin' Paco's tacos! Their salsa roja and verde were excellent as well. They weren't too spicy, but the flavors were on-point. The salsa bottles are usually scattered around the tables for the dine-in patrons. Make sure you are able to take advantage of the sauces and use generously on these delicious, delightful, finger-licking tacos. Hubby commented that their torta de carne asada was also tasty. I took a brief glance on that; it certainly looked pleasurably appetizing. I really don't have anything negative to say about "Paco's Tacos," except the condition of dining tables can be a bit messy. Nevertheless, I am fond of the tacos they serve and would proudly say they are "Chicago's Best."

Unfortunately, had a poor bad experience coming to these place today. Seems like the Coronavirus was affecting the cashier today. Furthermore, I had to wait for my order for 20 minutes until I told the lady cashier what happened to my order . She reply, I don't know what your talking about . Not only I waited 20 Minutes, but Irate and agitated I asked for my money. She reply, were is your receipt . I said, you have a copy don't you . The yellow copy to be specific and she couldn't find it . Instead, of horse playing with the cooks and being dumbfounded of what she was doing, I said pay more attention . Nevertheless, she wouldn't give me her name nor the manager name. However, got my money back in the end and in the end took a picture of her . By the way, very rude and unprofessional customer service Also, went to Indios a few blocks and the food is way better than this place .

Ordered two tortas de milanesa de pollo a médium horchata and a jarrito. $26 for the smallest tortas ever. Didn't even taste like milanesa de pollo. I feel like it was overpriced for what we had. Tortas weren't even tasteful. read more

So here is a touchy subject in Chicago lol. Who serves the best tacos in Chicago? I will always respond Pacos Tacos. Hands down, the best tacos in this city. Back when I ate meat, My favorite tacos to order here are: carnitas, chicharon w/carnitas, Asada, and barbacoa. They cook their meat in a style called "en su jugo" in their juices. It make the meats very tender. The tacos are big! They use El Milagro tortillas. The tortilla is very important because, the flavor of the tortilla is what makes first contact. There is nothing worse then smelling the sent of a cheap tortilla. The cheap tortillas usually come in a plastic package and reek of preservatives. Yuk! I run from places that use cheap tortillas. If they skimp out on the most basic thing, you can imagine the grade of meat they use. I'll pass on that. Thank you. The tacos are awesome here! For all my foodie friends that travel to Chicago and want the best tacos in the city. This is the spot. read more

This place went down hill tacos are $4.25 wow ! I placed a taco order for 4 people $60 dollars! Got home all food cold they don't make it fresh like before I notice meat was already cooked, meat had no taste , salsas were horrible . I'm the only one that had carnitas tacos and had terrible stomach pains that night! Will never return don't wait your time or money at this dump !!! read more

Excellent tacos!! Some of the most authentic tacos in the city. The quality and flavor is unmatched. Our first time there we ordered mostly steak tacos with one chicken apiece. As much as we loved the steak, we regretted not ordering more chicken. They were SO flavorful compared to most chicken tacos. This is definitely our official "go-to" place for tacos now. read more

The tacos are very good the chicharron with red sauce was my favorite taco followed by carnitas. The salsas could be better and maybe to much cilantro on top of the tacos. read more

From the burritos to the tacos, I've tried carne asada, pork and chicken. Each choice was tasty and did not disappoint. Busy around lunch time for finding a seat but the service is always friendly and as quick as possible for fresh made food. read more

Pacos Tacos is a hidden neighborhood gem that you might miss when driving down Pulaski. The carnitas are addicting, and so are their nopales. We have yet to try any of the tacos, because we are that hooked on their carnitas. Like everything else, prices have increased, but quality of food have remained consistent. If you are looking for something tasty to eat for lunch or dinner, why not try Pacos Tacos. You will be in for a treat. read more

I moved out of the area a couple years back but every time I'm in the neighborhood I have to pop in and pick up some tacos. This place has the best steak tacos and they don't skimp on the meat at all! I'm so picky when it comes to steak tacos that have a ton of fat on the meat and I can say, they don't have any and the meat is tender. Best taco place around midway! read more

Pacos tacos on Archer it a great taco place the food its always fresh. The service could use a little more attention the cashier/order taker fours smile or greet you the cooks don't acknowledge you it doesn't make you feel very welcome, the bathroom need to be more towards the customer it not well maintained but the tacos are great so if you take them to go it's a great place for tacos Ps It's better than the one on Pulaski Ave. read more

Pacos tacos vs. my local international tacos to me are opposite. The atmosphere at pacos tacos was not as welcoming or warming as it is at internationals. Though I can say the carnitas are well cooked here at this location. Only down side was the carne asada. It was missing that freshness that it has at international. On a positive note they have a variety of choices unlike the internationals. read more

Salty barbacoa. Too salty to eat. I called to complain and I was told to let the meat sit in water to draw out salt. It's customer service like this that keeps people from returning. I was very disappointed. read more

I ordered over $50 in food to go and they still wanted to charge me extra for more sauce and limes. The steak tacos are really good the service was poor because the lady barley understood what I was saying on the phone. The burrito had raw onions which I rarely see on any burritos from most Mexican restaurants. They do not sell chips rice or guac. I would stick with the tacos over the burrito. read more

So it was close to lunch time and I was craving "una torta de carnitas" So I was thinking where can I get a? Pacos of course. I got on the car drove by once and there was no street parking available, which is unusual, went around the block and drove by again and what???? no parking again. You know the saying "the third is for stubborn people" or is the charm or something like that. I have been there many times and know their system: go to the counter, order for there or to go (order everything at the register, and I mean everything food, drinks even extras and additional orders) Menu is pretty simple, tacos, tortas, burritos tostadas. When it comes to the the filling they have: asada, carnitas, chicharron en salsa, pastor, shredded beef in tomato sauce and chile relleno. Every thing is really good. You will find your drink and the salsas in the fridges on wall. Don't wait for them to be handed to you. Go get your drink and salsas find a stool and wait for your number to be called. Oh yea about my torta de carnitas, well ,as expected, it was very good. The bread was soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside. The meat was tender and flavorful. The salsas are good and all this with a mandarin jarrito on the side and you have a great lunch. Zaca or Pacos you ask. Zaca has great food but when it comes to tacos (specially steak tacos) Pacos wins. If I had to choose between Zaca and Pacos, I would go with El Milagro, LOL ( El Milagro has the best steak taco in the city) Pacos Tacos They have good food, fast service, big portions at cheap prices. read more

I mean, if you want Tacos specifically, you found a great spot. plenty of options and overall great tasting meats. Seriously, they do make Tortas and other dishes but trust me, the place is the Bomb for your Taco craving. People don't get that a traditional Mexican Taco is just meat, cilantro and Cebolla! I come here plenty of times and this once, only this once I sat next to a couple that seemed nice but then they started complaining about how they only had two salsas!..... People! Really, how many salsas do you want?! Green and Red is what they got and they are great if you ask me, you want some more spice, ask and they will give you some Chiles Toreados, try them, see if you can handle that. I love this place, I would and have recommended this place to everyone I know so give it a shot, you'll be surprised. read more

Tacos are always so good and satisfying. Been living in the area for a while and whenever i want tacos this is my go to place. They offer tacos, tortas, burritos and tostadas as well as carnitas. Place itself is a decent size parking is a bit of a struggle since its street parking but food here is always worth it. Taco prices have gone up which is the only thing that is disappointing other than that love the tacos here decent size and lots of meat. read more

Our favorite place to get tacos. They keep it simple and do an amazing job. Our favorites are the carne asada and barbacoa. If you want to try something different the lengua is fantastic and the chicharrones are worth a try. Hidden gem with good prices, don't be afraid to give it a try. read more

Visited this location last night and I ate some of the best steak tacos I had in a long time. I also had some really good carnitas tacos and my friend had a burrito.. Its hard to find a place that serves a perfectly good steak taco. Well this is the place. I only order mine with cilantro and onions . I liked that they DON'T microwave the tortillas either. The green sauce works fine. Didn't try the red though. They put onions on their burrito & it looked too messy..(minus one star) They ID to use debit/credit... (No biggie) Parking is street parking and I found a spot right in front. You can also buy carnitas, barbacoa and chicharron by the lb.. Next time I will order the same thing. Steak and Carnita tacos.. They are up there with the best in Chicago! read more

One of my top 2 favorite taco spots. The tacos are so filling, flavorful, and the meat is extremely tender. Pair the tacos up with an horchata (rice water) and you'll be in heaven. I'm usually always stuffed after 2 tacos. The people here are nice and friendly also. read more

One if the best Taquerias next to ZacaTacos... I always get the two tacos with carne asade, lettuce and tomato only. MMMMM....3 will be stuffing my mouth. These tacos are always stuffed with plenty of meat which they are known for. The green salsa is always good with just the right amount of kick to it.. The only downside to the place is the lack of tables or booth. The place is large enough for tables. This would be perfect for families with smaller kids. Me.....You don't need a waiter ro waitress. If you like merely standard, dry meat, take Gerardo's advice and go to Zacatacos, where they also use inferior tortillas. If you like real good quality meat, cooked to juicy perfection, and El Milagro tortillas, you need to go to Paco's Tacos. These are, by far, the best tacos in the city. The flavor is consistent, unlike Zacatacos, and they offer tasty tortas, burritos, carnitas, and barbacoa as well. Also, they have a vast selection of drinks, unlike the aforementioned competitor which merely offers subpar horchata and RC/Nehi soda. Carnitas, barbacoa, and chicharron set Paco's apart from Zacatacos. Get them by the pound, and in large quantities. The choice is clear; the public shall go where the quality and taste reign...Paco's Tacos. read more

The best taco's in the Chicago area I go at least once a month ever since i tried them 2 years ago when visiting a relative in the area. They use milagro tortillas and they don't soak them in grease like other places and they are not cheap on the amount of meat. At other places I have to eat 4 tacos to fill me up but not at Paco's Taco's, only 2 and your good to go. Don't forget to try the delicious salsas. I get my taco de carne asada w/ only lettuce and sour cream. I have tried many different tacos and this one is better than Comales, Atotonilco and Zacatacos. I make sure and take anyone from out of town to Paco's and I drive 40 min to eat them when I have a taste for tacos. Enjoy read more

Standard taco fare. I had the tacos de carnitas, carne asada, and chile relleno. My tacos were good. My bro had the torta de pastor. His torta was really good. Prices are more than reasonable and they have self-serve carnitas and chicharrones at the front of the store. We got ours to go, but the seating is plentiful. Watch out now zacatacos. Paco's coming for you. read more

Best tacos in town! I always get steak tacos , just cilantro and onions. Their sauces are spicy but really tasty. I tried their chicken torta and it is delicious. Meat is moist in a red sauce and it is a chicken breast meat not chicken thighs that they use. Service is fast and you learn some numbers in a different language since they call out the order numbers in Spanish. They are very helpful and this has never been a problem to make sure you get the correct order. Prices are very good. Food is fresh and made to order. read more

Love the tacos!! Carnitas there are great! Friendly and fast service!! The space is clean and although the lines are a bit long it is worth the wait. I also love that you can just go in to get carnitas and chicharrón to go. I'll be in here when ever I am in the area. read more

Carnitas....mmMmMM, SO succulent & tasty!!! Barbacoa, also very tasty!!! I would think that the best pieces are available closest to opening hours as you can get a better selection. They have onion and cilantro available in convenient little zip-lock bags as well as shredded cheese they can provide based on request for an additional charge. Green and red salsa provided with every order. This review is based on all of my TO GO and not dine in experiences. Great prices, great menu selection, friendly staff. All in all, very good stuff. I do love my Mexican food! ; ) read more

Yep, I love this place. Only been here once so far. Today with my boyfriend actually. I've heard really good things from many people about this place. My other favorite taco place was Taconazo, now I'm undecided. Their carne asada tacos con cilantro y cebolla were so delicious! The meat is seasoned perfectly. I almost always feel the need to add a little bit of salt to my tacos. But not at all at pacotacos. I did add some creama though lol. Delicious and I can't wait to go back again read more

When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.
