First time here. Service was friendly and helpful and fast. We got our order to go, but there was plenty of seating available. The food and drinks were fresh, and everything tasted excellent. Would highly recommend and would come back if in the area.

This is one of the most chaotic places I've ever eaten. It's always a hive of activity and noise. Things move fast and it's always busy. That said, these are some of the most authentic Mexican flavors and best steak tacos I've had in Chicago (and I've had a lot). The salsa is spicy and fresh. Check your order if you get to go. They have been known to mix things up.

Takes credit card. Minimum $10. These are the #1 best tacos I've had in Chicago. I'm from Los Angeles, and the tacos are on the same level at LA and San Diego. Tacos are better than taqueria Atotonilco and La Chapurria Yes, the tacos are very expensive but they give you a large amount of meat on 2 medium sized Milagro tortilla. It's equal to 2 LA small tacos. Al Pastor ($4.25)- these were Soo good. You have to get these. The flavor has that light sweetness, char from the grill, great pork flavor. Lengua ($5.25)- these were perfect. The meat was soft, savory. The meat sauce tasted delicious. Barbacoa ($4.25)- these tasted so damn good. The meat was seasoned perfectly and soft. It was moist, not too wet like other places. Chicharroon- ($4.25)- it was so tasty, super super soft, great flavor, easy to chew. The sauce slight lemon flavor. If you like pork skin, make sure to get this. Asada ($4.25)- the most Average meat. It was a little dry. Carnitas ($4.25)- probably my least liked. The meat was pretty dry. I would pass on this next time.

This used to be the best three headed monster in the city. However, every location is now inconsistent at best. This reminds me when they try to change their meats nearly 5 or six years ago, and due to customer dissatisfaction, they went back to their traditional recipe. The tacos are small, the tortillas are not cooked properly anymore. And the price is over five dollars with tax. What once was a great establishment is now a travesty.. It was so bad that I went to the original location that I loved and it was just as bad. We need the original team back so that we can truly get consistency back to what once was a great establishment.

The taco platters to go are really good and the presentation is great!! They give you grilled hot peppers, tomatoes/lettuce, or pork skins on the platter depending on which tacos you get along with limes, the red hot sauce and green mild sauce. It's a great idea to get for a big group of people. We ordered for 13 people and it was a great deal! The tacos are filled to the max with so much meat. The guacamole is really good and fresh and the tortilla chips are fried and crunchy to perfection. Highly recommend!

I had heard Paco's Tacos in having some good tacos, so we decided to check them out for a quick lunch. Their menu also offers burritos, tortas, and tostadas, with protein choices such as carne asada, carnitas, barbacoa, pastor, lengua, etc. I ordered: +2 carne asada tacos +1 al pastor taco +1 barbacoa taco +1 horchata The barbacoa was the preferred out of the three, as it was beefy and tender; the carne asada seemed like a rendition of the barbacoa, and I was pretty disappointed. The meats didn't seem to have been marinaded or seasoned much, as they were bland; adding the hot sauce only helped slightly. The corn tortillas were a little drive and didn't hold up the fillings well. The horchata was creamy and comes in only one size. Staff are friendly and efficient. Even though I only had one taco here (unfortunately), I'd put Paco's as among my top taco spots in Chicago! It's a casual taco joint with no table service that also sells tortas, burritos, and tostadas. I had one barbacoa taco, which it was excellent, fresh, and the meat was robust in flavor. The tacos came out quickly, and were priced very reasonably. The only seating is on the chairs lining the walls; it was pretty empty when we went on a Saturday afternoon, so we easily found seats. I will definitely be back in the future!!

You walk in and it's a little dine in area with the ac barely on and walk up to order. I been here before and If u see the old pics I posted the quality of the tacofell off. I was so disappointed with this visit. I ordered 4 steak tacos 2 onion n cilantro 2 lettuce tomato. I asked for limes they charged me but forgot to throw them in the bag so when I went back I asked for a green sauce since then gave me more red the lady asked for $.50 each. Overall the lettuce looked old and the meat is definitely cross contaminated I would highly recommend Zaca tacos any day over Paco's with this past experience.

Look at the time and look at the amount of time I have to spend when I called because I speak English in the USA.

Their food may be excellent. But these migrants discriminating against Americans. When you start speaking English to hang up on you I had to call like eight different times today to place an order I cannot walk I'm very disabled. Look very closely at the photos look how many times I had to call and look how many times they hung up on me. Places like this should go out of business I definitely will be going somewhere else

Carnitas and steak tacos were good. Much more beefy than other steak tacos I've had. Nothing bad about them just wasn't for me, but my boyfriend loved everything about them. Service was quick, staff was polite, and ambiance was a bar stool high chair environment, seated at tables on the walls. No stand alone seating, but it wasn't busy so we were able to sit anywhere. Decent place to go in the neighborhood.

Tacos were absolutely loaded with meat (yum) in addition to the onion and cilantro, but still seemed at bit overpriced for the size. I loved the authenticity of this place though - you could tell the meats were made with care. Super tender and delicious meats - I think the Al Pastor Taco was a little better and more flavorful than the Barbacoa Taco , but both were pretty good.

Such a waste of my time. I could get the "average only" tacos if I could force myself to get past the rude, disrespectful service. I get good staff is sometimes hard to find but to find out that I was passed over, after waiting in line for a bit, so that an order could be taken for 3 attractive young ladies who had just walked in. I was told the order taker was owners son or family member....I cant verify but I do know that my money is as green as the 3 pretty girls. I will never give my hard earned money to this establishment or any of their other locations. My parting advice is 1. Learn what customer service is all about and train ALL employees. 2. Learn some respect in the workplace and train ALL employees. 3. Learn how to make a taco that I'd want to come back for read more

One of the better tasting authentic tacos spots in the city. I highly recommend their carne asada tacos. These tacos are larger and more filling than the small little hipster size tacos in Wicker Park; and HALF the price. Do yourself a favor, if you want authentic Mexican tacos, skip the boujee, overpriced taco spots and give Paco's a try. Easily one of my top 5 favorite taco joints in the city. PRO TIP - this place only offers street parking so plan accordingly and don't park in the Family Dollar parking lot or your shit will get towed. read more

Price of a Taco was $4.50 not $2.40 as online menu reflects.The meat was phenomenally seasoned and portion is good. However, tortillas were stale / hard, making the overall taste and texture unsatisfying! Need to update online menu and be consistent with quality. read more

This place is sketch. I noticed while seated at bar /kitchen area cooks don't cook fresh steak or anything poultry. They just reheat meat from a big pot. My steak burrito was served up almost immediately upon ordering that was 1st red flag. There was no steam on my plate. Burrito tasted bland and at medium room temperature. I was so hungry so I just ate it instead of complaining. Then I noticed a soda tax on my receipt. I thought this was dropped back in 2017? read more

Came here as a kid I use to always think it was one of the best tacos spots in Chicago. Although tastes changes over time and it's just not the same anymore. The high prices just don't make up for it at all. Overall it's decent nice family spot. Smh. 4/10 read more

For years we've put up with the rude and condescending customer service here. For years we let it happen for the sake of 1. Helping our local Hispanic businesses and 2. The food is generally great. Today, we called it quits. Today we say good bye to Pacos Tacos, once and for all. 1lb of bad carnitas. -cartilage -fat We call you to let you know and ask you to make it right. You ask us to return it so you can VERIFY. We make the trip. Only for you to INSIST that it was my fault. Customers aren't allowed to pick and choose the meat at the moment due to the PANDEMIC, so how exactly is this my fault again? BAFFLING. We are your CUSTOMERS. We keep your business going. We don't have to spend our money at your establishment. We don't have to put up with your TERRIBLE BUSINESS PLAN. Your food was GREAT. This particular time it was AWFUL. Today I went to buy tacos de Carnitas and got tacos de Asada. The problem is that I'm allergic to carne Asada. When I ordered there was were not busy since I was the only one in line. People be careful when you order and check before leaving the restaurant that ur order is correct. Let me also say that this is the first time that this has happened to me there. I like this place but when they make a mistake like this it's not ok. All the lady said was to go back an exchange them not even apologetic about the situation. Best tacos in the hood. I was a little skeptical upon arrival. I typically always like to glance over menu online (yelp) before I arrive just to get a head start. The name of this place just doesn't scream at me. The menu also had me skeptical. Small menu with Tacos, fewer options in Tortas, Tostadas and Burritos. That's it.... As I walked in, I noticed how packed it was. Ok so it must be good for it to be this packed... The location is fairly small. Seating is minimal, and all seating is bar/stools. Quick service A+ Party of 5 with a difficult all in one order... I was very impressed the order was 100% to perfection as requested. Tacos not only tasted amazing! One of the best tacos I've had quality wise. The quantity was also insanely ridiculous in a GOOD way. Double tortillas - Packed with meat (not skimpy at all) - not shy on cilantro and onion Large squeezable salsa bottles on the bar tables, both green and red. They also had some kind of spread (I don't really know what it was), on the table. You order as you walk in. Drinks are available for you to grab (not fountain). They do have Horchata - we asked for one but I'm not sure if they only offer one size? They also offer fresh Chicharron and or carnitas to go. I placed a order of 5 tacos, each of a different meat. Paco's is my new all time favorite local taco spot! Their quality and consistency in tacos is always on point. They season their meats very well and their tortillas are always soft and fresh. The asada is just super juicy and full of flavor! Compared to other places that charge over $2.50 for a taco, they give a lot of meat in each taco. My favorite spot used to be Tio Luis but after they got so popular, their quality has gone down tremendously. Highly highly recommend the steak tacos at Paco's!!! read more

What a gem. I'm not sure why everyone is creating rivalries for the best taco in the city because it's actually here. Street parking can be rough, but it's worth it to come in for some delicious tacos. The menu has a few choices (tacos, tortas, burritos, or tostadas), you order at the counter and they call your number to pick up your order. No sides, nothing crazy. I got chicken tacos and carnitas tacos. The carnitas were amazing, so juicy. I love the minimal toppings - just onion and cilantro. They really pack the meat on here. Everything was quick, the people working were friendly, and the tacos were amazing. -------- Update -------- I've been back several times and continue to get good, quick service and great tacos. The steak ones are probably my favorite with the carnitas coming in a close second. You order them as a single taco so definitely try out different ones - can't go wrong! read more

Authentic little find conveniently only 15 mins away from the Midway airport. The set-up is like a diner; they cook the food right in front of you. I was craving carne asada tacos and this place did the trick!! It was amazing. After living in California for a year I became very spoiled with good tacos... this place brought that all back. The tortillas were fresh, and they topped the tacos with onions and cilantro. The BEST taste ever. The workers were really great and attentive. Along the bar they have salsa bottles, the green salsa is a little spicy (I'm a baby when it comes to spice though) and has a fresh taste. The red is more like a salsa. OH and how could I forget the guacamole... SO FRESH. I could eat it for the rest of my life. This place will for sure be my new go to when traveling! read more

Talk about authentic tacos. They don't serve you rice or beans or anything. Just straight up tacos, tostadas, nothing else that comes with it. Luckily they take credit card. The amount of meat they put in their tacos is insane. It's like no other. They stuff the tacos with meat. I liked the carne asada (steak) and al pastor. Al pastor was probably my favorite as it was very flavorful and it had a lot of meat. I was a bit disappointed in the carnitas. It was a bit dry for my liking. The food comes out really fast, grab a seat at one of the stools and enjoy your tacos with the Green and Red hot sauces. I was so impressed with all the meat that comes with the tacos. Trust me you're definitely getting your moneys worth here. Again, don't come here if you're looking for a complete Mexican style dinner that comes with beans and rice. It's straight up the goods only. It's good. Is it worth checking out? Absolutely. Is it worth going again? Probably not, to be honest due to its location. read more

Was in the Brighton Park area, so I had to try Paco tacos for the first time. I was craving a burrito at the time so I went for the asada burrito. It was good, but not something I would go crazy for. It came with cheese, onions, tomatos, and pinto beans. Meat was a fair amount and fresh. I wouldn't say it was stuffed, but it will fill you up enough. Their horchata was good too. For the price, the food on the average size but it tastes alright. Definitely would love to try their tacos again next time. Their service that day was so so. It seemed they got some orders mixed up so my food took a little longer than expected. They do follow covid protocol. They also sell fresh carnitas and chicharon by the pound as well. Parking is metered, but plenty on Archer or adjacent side treats. Give it a try when in the area! read more

One thing that I have learned: don't read Yelp reviews that put an emphasis on the parking lot, the neighborhood or the size of the restaurant. In the case of Paco's Taco, if I had did that, I would have missed out on the best, authentic carne asada and pastor tacos that I have ever had! Three things that make them the best, to me: they are not shy with the meat of the taco, the meat is very flavorful, and they were very patient with me on my first visit there. From Paco's Tacos I purchased carne asada and pastor tacos Mexican style, chile asados and lime juice to add to my tacos for more flavor, but it wasn't necessary. I live an half an hour away from the place. I carried out, brought them home and reheated, uncovered @ 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Total love! Even the pork rinds and crackling is delicious, too! They have two kinds of sauces. Both are the bomb! It is not "fine" dining. You have to park on the street. The place is small. The neighborhood is not the best. But to get to these tacos, I'll go... Holy Crap!!! The tacos and torta here are so amazing!!! Wow!!! The 50 min drive over there was sooooo worth it!! Every time we visit Chicago, we have to go this place no matter what. The food is so delicious it's beyond words. The torta did not have that thick bread so it was perfect! Everything was perfect!!! I am eager to go back to this place again!!! read more

Paco's Taco's are here to save the day. Do you ever just wake up and say to yourself, I need some tacos to turn my day around. No? Thats just me? Oh well. My friend and I like to call ahead and order from here. They make it so effortless. Call, pick up, get back home, TACO TIME! I love the tortas, Al pastor, carnitas and chicharron tacos. Seriously, there is nothing better than to just indulge in Paco's after a long evening. Prices are a little higher than what I would pay for the tacos but I don't mind too much since the tacos are quality and filled up with meat. They never mess up my order and for that I am thankful. I need to offset all these one star reviews because I'm coming across as an aging misanthrope. So here's a place I dig. I've been hearing for years Paco's Tacos makes really good steak tacos. I'm really good at eating steak tacos. Game recognize game. But two things surprised me. 1. Their steak is only okay. It's growing on me, but it's still no Zacatacos. 2. Holy sh*t. Their carnitas and chicharrón are insanely good. I didn't think I'd have a need to go outside of Pilsen to get carnitas, but they're that good. I had carnitas a lot growing up, so it's not often I crave them. That's how I personally gauge if a place has bomb carnitas, if I crave them. And I definitely crave theirs. Their steak is ok, barbacoa was underwhelming, chicken is decent. But carnitas and chicharrón are first-rate and definitely the star. Get you some. read more

It used to be one of my favorite taco places and these last couple of times I've been there their service has declined drastically. Yesterday I stopped by to purchase 1/2LB of carnitas cuz I only had $6.48 with me and because the lady (Herminia) served me a bit more 0.66LB than what I asked and my total amount to pay was $6.55, so for $.07 that I was short she made a big hassle and made me feel humiliated. As of today, I will no longer put a foot in this restaurant and suggest future customers to always carry enough change. read more

Small taco shop off Archer that has bar style seating at the counter, nice enough little shop. I tried the pastor, carnitas and carne asada tacos, and they were all really, really good. High traffic spot at lunch but worth it, friendly staff and plenty to choose from. read more

I finally tried Paco's after reading about it and hearing from a few friends they have some of the best tacos in the city. The place is about as authentic as it gets. Small little storefront with maybe 20 seats, most of which are diner style; it has a open kitchen. The menu is relatively small compared to most Mexican restaurants; they have tacos, tortas, burritos and toastadas, along with some self-serve carnitas and chicharron in the front. I opted for 4 tacos to go. They were ready quickly and I rushed home to try them. I got the carne asada, rajas con queso, pastor and chicken adobado. I liked them from most to least in that order, though I must say none of them were bad, but the chicken adobado was a little plain, and I have just had better pastor elsewhere. The carne asada is definitely the star of the show. They use a higher quality beef and season it liberally. The meat was super tender, very flavorful, not dry, and they piled it on. Seriously for $2.75 these are some big tacos; you will pay more for less and lower quality elsewhere. I ordered 4 and probably should have only ordered 3 for a full meal. The tacos here are generally a little bigger than the street size ones, and most of them are $2.75 each, which in my experience is cheaper than average. The rajas were unique as well, it reminded me of a chili relleno but wasn't as heavy because it wasn't fried. All the meat seemed to be of better than average quality, which I greatly appreciate even though I thought the pollo adobado was a little plain. They included two types of salsas. A very fresh tasting green one and then a more spicy brownish one. I thought they were both super good and also unique. Friendly service on the inside. This place gets busy but they are organized and expedient. Awesome, authentic spot for tacos on the SW side. Will be back for sure to try some of the non-basic options next time. read more

The staff were nice, the ambiance was okay, and the wine selection was good. But please, stop covering the taste of the food you cook. If you need to hide the ingredients under excessive sauce, spice, cilantro, oil, bacon, or sweetness, the only explanation is that the ingredients are not good enough on their own. I will not be coming back. Not even for free. Sorry. PS. Why so much bread on each dish? So much buttery horrible bread that you will trash, because it's impossible to eat all of it.

Pacos Tacos was once my favorite spot for Tacos and I had been coming here for over 18years, unfortunately it has quickly fallen from my favorites list. Pacos Tacos has become the fast food of Tacos the no longer cook your meat fresh for example my Alpastor came from a container they had next to the grill and it was cold when served to me. I noticed the same from various meats except the Asada which I assume is because it is the most popular item. The service of the cashiers is horrible they are not very inviting and roll their eyes at a simple request. For example I am on Keto and do not eat the tortillas so I asked them to serve me just the meat with out the tortilla since I did not want it to go to waste they refused my request so I had to throw away good tortillas. I was not asking for extra meat or a discount, just simply serve a portion of taco on a plate but oh well. Lastly this place is dirty garbage all over the tables and sticky floors. The tacos here were nice quality and worth the price. The carne asada was tender and perfectly seasoned, while the al pastor had the right balance of sweet and spicy.
