I was impressed by his attentiveness and professionalism. He was patient with me while I gathered information he needed. He got them up and running and he also walked me through the devices showing me that they're both 100%. When I walked in about an hour earlier they were both virtually iPad Paper Weights! ;-) I stopped by a laptop Repair store closer to home and they said they couldn't help me. He recommended I purchase a security suite and a VPN - SEPARATELY (bundling these two items would have gained me a 70% discount). At the same time I learned I had an entire (second) security suite in operation unbeknownst to him and of course myself ... and for the past eighteen months?! Do your tech homework, so you can identify these fakers in advance.

I called up Help with Tech and got an immediate response from Chris, who came by to collect my dead laptop (following proper social distancing guidelines, of course) and take a look at the damage. He confirmed that the motherboard was totally toast and offered to replace it. Chris's service fee was perfectly reasonable, but (through no fault of his own) the manufacturer cost for a new motherboard was more than I wanted to spend--Razer always charges an arm and a leg for parts. So instead I opted to upgrade to a newer device, and Chris pulled all my files from the dead laptop's hard drive. He was extremely quick and communicative throughout the process, helped me through some questions when I transferred the files to my new computer, and even wiped the old laptop after I gave the go-ahead signal. I'm hoping I don't run into any issues with my new laptop--but if I do, I know who I'm gonna call!

Unfortunately, I was on a tight timeline and needed a quick turnaround, so I decided to move forward despite my concerns. Recently, after rebranding my business, I contacted Tyler again to create updated business cards. We provided mock-ups and concepts for the new design, and the conversation immediately shifted toward additional charges for creating the card layout. While I completely understand and respect that businesses charge for design work, I called personally to explain that we had several future projects coming up and were hoping to build a long-term business relationship. Instead of working toward a solution or showing any interest in customer retention, I was told to "take my business elsewhere" simply because I questioned being upcharged on the mock-up process. As a business owner myself, I fully understand the importance of profitability. However, customer service, professionalism, and relationship-building are equally important -- especially in service-based industries. Unfortunately, my experiences with Tyler and Digital Insight Printing lacked those qualities entirely. Because of this interaction, not only have they lost my business moving forward, but I also cannot confidently refer other businesses or colleagues to them. Inside the building there was a printed notice saying they operate Friday-Saturday only, but their Google listing still shows normal weekday hours. Communication was terrible from start to finish. Calls were often ignored, "I'll send it tomorrow" turned into days of silence, and nothing was clearly explained in writing. The pickup situation was the most frustrating part. He called and told me to come at 7:30. I started driving. Then he changed it to 8:00. Then he changed it again and told me to come "tomorrow at 12 during business hours" while I was already on my way. Complete disrespect for a customer's time. For the "diagnosis," he claimed there was a cracked LCD (lower left) and said the screen must be replaced, but refused to provide any clear photo or proof. He kept saying the screen is dark and only sometimes turns on, so he "can't guarantee a picture." I asked multiple times for proof, pricing, and a written explanation. I received none. He was rude, kept interrupting, and repeatedly bragged about being "15 years in business" instead of answering basic questions. He also insisted I told him I dropped the laptop, which I never said. After a few days he called and said he doesn't have parts available, and then suddenly demanded $88 for diagnostic, which was never clearly disclosed upfront. When I came to pick up the laptop, he told me he "doesn't want to do business" with me. I immediately took the laptop to another repair shop and they said it would not power on at all. They are still diagnosing it, but now I'm dealing with a worse situation than when I first brought it in.

So I start talking to him, he seems a bit arrogant. I was just trying to ask some questions since I do not know much about computers myself.
