Visiting Soldotna on 5/13 and 5/15 and found this gem! Place is very clean with plenty of seating. The staff is so nice and helpful. I have come here multiple times with friends! Everything we have tried so far has been delicious. There is the same kind lady there every time, I believe she is the owner. She always provides amazing service with every visit. The restaurant has a pretty casual vibe and I go late after work so it is never too packed. During all my visits, here is what I've tried: For drinks, I had the Thai iced coffee and Thai tea with lime. For appetizers we've had the fried shrimp, siu mai dumplings, egg rolls and fried calamari. For entrees, I have tried the pork ramen, pad see ew, tom kha noodle soup, yellow curry, chicken and broccoli, and much more. Definitely a must-try for food and service. This is easily the best Thai food I've ever had! I'm traveling from southern CA where we have a lot of Thai restaurants, I've tried many of them, and this one is by far the best out of all. This was some of the best Thai food I've had anywhere and somehow, i found it way out in the sticks in AK. A lot of the Thai food I've had in my hometown of Seattle and current hometown of Las Vegas doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the meal I had at this restaurant. All of the flavors were fresh and delicious. The dishes were well constructed with decent-sized portions and the staff were delightful and helpful. This place is awesome!! As I came walking into the front doors (the owner?) Held the door open for me. Its pickup or outdoor seating only because of COVID right now and the inside was set up with a table and a chair for a person to wait for their takeout. I paid and waited for my food. When the man there seen me looking for something on thier condiment table, he asked me what I was wanting and I told him some salt. They only had a salt shaker but he went into the back and got me a little condiment cup of salt. I drove home with my good and dug in... Oh man the reviews didn't lie!! So yummy!! I had Tom Kha noodle soup, chicken teriyaki and some crispy spring rolls. The spring rolls came with this clear sauce. It was delicious!! Like a sweet vinegar syrup kinda deal. Really good!! Driving back to anchorage after spending the weekend in homer, it was lunch time by the time we got to Soldotna. Checked yelp for any good Thai places as my wife and i were craving for some rice and curry and Pad Thai Cafe popped up. We were asked to pick any table and settle down, which we did and then we waited and waited and waited and waited for someone to take out order. The servers kept walking into the kitchen and back but no one cared to come take our order. We noticed the table next to us were in the same boat as us. So after almost 15 minutes(or more - felt like half an hour) of just staring at the walls and sipping on water, someone came over, apologized for making us wait and finally took our order. Apparently, they were training new staff. We ordered fried calamari for starters, my wife got the green curry and i got pork pad Thai. Well the wait was worth it. The food was absolutely yummy. They serve some real good Thai food here and we were happy :D The green curry was just awesome.... The next time we are in Soldotna we will surely eat here again. The only reason i give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the extremely long wait we had before someone took our order. My friend and I are new Fans of this new restaurant, in the front corner of the Blazy Mall. The location has seen a couple of restaurant turnovers in the past two years, maybe the Pad Thai Cafe will stay. The word-of-mouth buzz about this place is good. I enjoyed my spiced-up, flavorful Red Curry with Rice; I added shrimp to the hearty meal. Extra pepper seasoning was brought to me by the server. My friend was very pleased with the Tom Kha Noodle Bowl. We shared an appetizer of steamed Shrimp Shu Mai Dumplings; we snapped down the assortment before I even thought to take a pic of the nice presentation. My friend's Lime Thai Iced Tea was very good, although neither of us could taste any lime ... maybe regular Thai Iced Tea was served by mistake? No matter, it was good. The decor inside is pleasant; a fireplace with stuffed chairs along a short wall; large prints hung along the colorful walls; a couple of flat screen monitors showing presentations of the plated dishes.
