We had driven by this BBQ stand a few times throughout the week and decided to make a stop here for lunch. They do have drive-thru service, but we ended up parking and walking up. Everything on the menu sounded really good. They have a nice variety of BBQ meat plates and sandwiches. I had never had a Reindeer Hot Dog and got one of those. Reindeer Hot Dogs are a signature Alaskan culinary specialty and are made with a blend of reindeer (caribou), pork and beef. I also wanted to try the Cowboy Fries with Brisket. I was too full from eating my hot dog and cole slaw to order one. Thankfully my buddy ordered one and let me try his. We had a great time eating and hanging out near the BBQ stand. Smokehouse BBQ is only open during the warmer months and closes up during the winter. They also have a location in Anchorage.
