Finally made it to this place, after wanting to try it for over a year. Seems like every time I tried they were closed. Their hours are limited, and they don't have a website to get any info. They're a little bit expensive but I'll add to this post after I get my food. The place is deceiving, the inside is very cute and comfortable the staff is friendly and attentive. Don't like that you have to come to the register to pay for your meal. The outside is not very inviting, doesn't look like a restaurant and the front lot is small. But there's more parking in the rear. I ordered my favorites, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry w/ckn. The Pad Thai was good but the portion was small. The sauce was thin the ckn wasn't very tender and bland. I ordered it 3 stars which is their heat level, it was good not too spicy but just right. I ordered the fried dumplings, they were hard and the filling wasn't very full and dried out. Overall not bad but not great. The portion size of the curry was good but the rice portion was not enough for the amount of yellow curry dish.

Mushy, tasteless, nasty frozen vegetables used in my expensive curry dish today. SMH.

Restaurant was clean. Service was fast and friendly. I've eaten here in the past and it didn't disappoint. Today I came in for lunch and with my taste buds craving their delicious curry! What an utter disappointment I got! The curry sauce itself was delicious as usual however they ruined the dish (which wasn't cheap at $15.95!) by using frozen vegetables instead of fresh veggies. Really? The Panang curry dish is listed to have peas, carrots, and bell peppers. In the bowl there were 3 small slices of a bell pepper, fresh tasty and crunchy. But the majority of the bowl (at least a full 8oz.) consisted of a frozen peas and carrots blend. So nasty! The server confirmed it was frozen veggies. I've never been so disappointed. I've loved their food in the past with never a single complaint. Unfortunately, I'll never return there. I'll have to find my curry fix in a nearby town.

Pad Se Ew Tofu - soooo good!

Consistently delicious Thai food. The curry puffs are light, flaky and have just the right amount of curry filling and are accompanied by a sweet dipping sauce. Our go-to dish is the Pad Se Ew with tofu and it is so good. This isn't a spicy dish for those who aren't into spice. It's sweet with flat noodles and broccoli and protein of your choice. I've also had the Thai Tea with boba and would recommend it. The other thing that sets this place apart is the great staff. Every time o call to place my order the person taking it is polite and friendly and they are always so attentive when I go in to get the food. Great food and great service!

The food is excellent, but they are definitely proud of it. The prices are quite high considering portion size, so I do not come here often.

Very good food for this area. My only complaint is that the portions were too small and I am a small person. I left hungry.

I got the shrimp spring rolls and the beef pho. The spring rolls were served with a peanut sauce and were fairly simple--mainly just lettuce, vermicelli noodles, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. I'm used to variations that usually include more greens/vegetables like carrots, thai basil, cucumber, etc. Still, they were a nice, fresh appetizer. The beef pho was pretty interesting. The broth had a decent beefy flavor but lacked the aromatics that I'm used to tasting in pho. The best way I can describe it is that it tasted very plain and uncomplicated. I'd probably chalk this up to the fact that I've lived in northern NJ / NYC for most of my life which has a large Asian population and many Pho restaurants. The beef slices were also thicker and a bit tougher than what I'm used to. No options for tripe, tendon, or meatballs either. Normally, I would have given 3 stars, but I appreciate this restaurant and its food for what it is in context. I'm just glad that I can get a decent bowl of pho when I'm craving it.

They had some very nice pieces of Asian Art all throughout the place. The food was great. The presentation was exceptional. The soup was delicious. The spring rolls were delicious. The heavenly beef was very good. It was some type of beef jerky. The pad Thai rice was good with just enough spice. I asked for a 2 for the spice level. The customer service was great. Our server did a great job. I believe they said he was the owner. He checked on us often. He offered suggestions. He kept our drinks full. He was very personable. Additionally he had a wonderful since if humor. I left very impressed and full. Everything was reasonably priced. There is parking in front. The one area in which they need some improvements was the restroom. It needed to be updated to reflect the rest of the restaurant.

It kind of makes it a hidden treasure and I'm glad that I found it. My visit was during a Saturday lunch and I was impressed. I started my meal with Fried Spring Rolls filled with vegetables and served Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. They were a thin crisp shell, that still gave a nice crunch when bitten into. The sauce was a accompaniment. For an entree I chose, Drunken Noodles and added Beef for my protein. I was torn between Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodle and when I asked my server, she said their most popular dish was Drunken Noodles. Then when I went to add my protein it was between chicken and beef. She said beef was her favorite add, so I went with her recommendation. Once my entree arrived to the table I was surprised by its size. It was huge. It was so big, it could have been a meal for two. Guess who had leftovers for lunch the next day. The noodles were flavorful and lots of tender beef and had plenty of veggies. My spice level was 3 out of 5 and I still was sweating along my hairline. Next visit I may have to scale back to a two. The service was attentive and the young lady who was my server, had a bubbly personality. I also had a young man who brought me my order, checked on me and I wasn't even his table. Now that I have found this hidden treasure, I will definitely be back. When: March 7, 2026 Why: Lunch

Eventually, I branched out and tried the chicken pad Thai, and now those are the two dishes I tend to go back to. This place isn't just good because of the food--it brings back so many childhood memories. I used to come here all the time with my mom, and going to Saffron was kind of our "fancy lunch." I would always beg her to get the drunken noodles because, as a kid, I thought the name was absolutely hilarious. Saffron is definitely nicer than your typical Asian fast-food restaurant, and one of the things I've always appreciated is that even when I order something as simple as chicken fried rice or chicken pad Thai, it doesn't feel greasy. The food has a nice, clean flavor, and the pad Thai has a great crunch on top that I really enjoy. I don't really have anyone to go here with anymore, but every now and then when I'm in town visiting my parents, I make a point to stop by. Tonight, I called my order in ahead of time, which is really convenient because I can literally do it while I'm driving on the interstate and then swing by to pick it up. It was the perfect meal tonight--not just because it was good, but because it brought back a little piece of my childhood. If you like Thai food, I definitely recommend giving Saffron a try. And if you've been going for years, you might just find that the food comes with a side of nostalgia, too.
