I have never been to a bbq restaurant, especially one that has been in business for decades, and not smell barbecue. I went there for the first last week. I barbecue at home quite a bit so I didn't get barbecue. My wife and I had a chicken sandwich and fries. It tasted pretty good, but it was a very small, out of a box, breaded, chicken patty. We each had water to drink and my bill was almost $25, including a 15% tip. Not worth anything close to that. There are better choices. I can't speak for the barbecue though. the service was good....i drove from Farmington to try it out and it was a huge DISAPPOINTMENT....onion rings that werent even rings..it was obvious that i got the bottom of the bag of frozen rings,was just a small amount of pieces...the pulled pork was a VERY small amount of shaved pork (maybe) on white toast..the whole sandwhich wasnt even 3/4 of an inch thick...it was laughable.When i asked the server about it she said they weighed everything(would love to know what i was suppose to get) left hungry after spending 25 dollars...will not be back and will tell all my friends that travel the area to be aware...in my opinion it was a joke read more

A MUST stop if you are passing through! I really wish this place was close to me as I'd eat there ALL of the time! They serve everything! BBQ, corn dogs, hot dogs, burgers, chicken and even tacos! Cheese mushrooms, cheese fries, cheese cauliflower, cheese onion chips, cheese curds and cheeseburgers! They even have their own golf cart out front (I have no idea why.) Today my wife and I had to come from West Plains to Fredericktown, and decided to take the dogs. We were expecting to have to do a search for a dog-friendly place to eat, but happened upon The Pig. We were happy to see the number of outside tables, and also at the menu selection and prices. Allie came out and almost immediately brought a water bucket for our dogs without being asked. This was just the start of the great service she provided today, and I hope that she gets a complement from management. We both enjoyed the food, impressed by the freshness of the two Mighty Burgers and the sides. I also was very happy with the real ice cream in the chocolate shake. If you want to eat outside, inside, or in your car for the drive-in experience, all three options are available. I give our experience at The Pig all five stars. read more

I've been driving past The Pig for more years than I care to count. Tonight my wife and I along with my oldest daughter decided to give them a try for the first time.... HOLY COW, it was FANFREAKINGTASTIC! The place was super clean, super nice and the waitress, Kaylee was second to none! She was so sweet and knowledgeable and knew the answer to every question we had. The food was absolutely delicious and we stuffed ourselves with entrees and appetizers for under $50 for three people! Nowadays that's a bargain to be had! We even ordered more food to bring home for my other daughters "who didn't like BBQ, so they stayed home". Little did we all know, the menu at The Pig will accommodate almost any picky eater. We were visiting Fredericktown while shooting a short film. We stopped to eat at the pig on May 27th around 3 pm or so. The server that we had was nice she was a little agitated. It seemed like at first, but she came around.I actually asked her if she was okay. I asked if she wasn't feeling well, and did she have a migraine. Upon check out, the young girl who was maybe in high school made the comment and asked if he was Ice Cube, the actor. So he commented on her country style outfit, and then she said, "Where is your Master?" How inappropriate and racist is that. The owner was very nice but the employees need to be replaced. As we have continued to come, we really enjoy it more and more. They now serve breakfast and boy oh boy I think that that actually may be their best service. It is truly a southern style breakfast. This place has went down quickly in the last 2 years. I'm not sure if there has been an ownership change or what? The wait times have gotten out of hand. Really disappointed with the food! Worse barbecue I've ever eaten. My husband ordered The Mince (pulled pork) and a bowl of chili. I ordered the Combination and slaw. We also tried the onion rings with cheese on the side. The chili was really bad; hot, but with no real flavor. We've never had eaten barbecue that was creamy!?! It had no texture. "down there on the left...can't miss it" was the directions we got from two different locals..from two different spots in town. After 15 minutes of driving around we found it. It saddens me to change my review but I feel it's very necessary. My fiance and I called on many occasions to place a bulk order for pulled pork for our wedding reception only to be put on hold every time for upwards of 15 minutes each time. I was told they do this (the pulled pork) and to talk to Deborah. Deborah nor anyone else ever contacted me back. I've attempted to contact via messenger as well and I've only got one response back which was someone telling me to contact Deborah. This has been over the course of about 4 to 5 weeks. If something happened and no one could get back in touch with me, it shouldn't be this long. It's just bad customer service all around. They've lost a large sale and now have permanently lost a loyal customer due to this. I know they have great food. The best in Madison County. But it's not worth it to be blown off especially when the order was for such an important event. And I called more than two times. A local favorite that has been a fixture in Fredericktown for the past 65 years (and the building looks like it's at least that old). I'll start out by saying this is obviously not a fancy place or even the best place to eat in town. The building honestly doesn't look like much from the outside. However it has a certain amount of charm so I have to consider myself "a fan". This is basically a fast-food joint with almost all of the menu items dripping in grease and devoid of any nutritional value. Except for a few dinner platters, all of the items are sold invidiually (meaning if you want fries with your burger you have to buy them separately). The menu is very broad with many assorted burgers and grilled sandwiches as well as fried vegetables to satisfy any craving. My personal fave is their BBQ sandwiches. The sandwiches themselves are nothing more than toasted bread slices with sliced meat in between them, but I have to say that I love the sauce and actually add more to my sandwich. I also like getting their "3 little pig" burgers. Service is actually fairly decent for this type of place and the food usually comes out pretty quick if they are not too busy. Those hoping for an atmosphere similar to Sonic or Hardee's will be sorely disappointed. But those with a craving for junk food and looking for something simple should check this place out. read more

If there were a way to give them zero stars I would. This place is as trashy as they come. All of the food on the menu is frozen and they short you on all off their meat. This is supposed to be a barbecue place and I don't think they even have a smoker.
