I was in town for a work trip and didn't want run of the mill fast food for lunch. I found Kasabi! They had a bento box lunch special that I couldn't pass up. The food was cooked well and flavorful. All condiments and chopsticks are at a self serve station which adds to a casual feel. I love that I could sit at the bar and watch the guys roll sushi. The inside is modern with a cute mural. I had the chance to visit this yummy Japanese spot in Festus MO of all places. I was greeted with a sweet young woman with a beautiful happy smile who gave some great suggestions for my first time there! Her name was Stella and she was the daughter of the owner! I had chicken hibachi, a California roll and egg rolls and it was all fresh and delicious! And it was super affordable! The dining area was clean and neat and it was quite a few locals in when I stopped by so it definitely was a popular place for lunch. I can handle spice level 3 at Thai but here even a 1 is gunna get you . Always a delicious flavor, bringing me back each time. The sushi menu is top tier & you gotta try the tuna tataki app. I could eat just that for my meal. Walk up to the counter & order, they'll bring your meal out to you. Super convenient! I was so happy when this place opened in our small town. I've always missed good sushi when I moved from the city. They were very nice and friendly when we came in and the food was presented beautifully and colorful like sushi should. We were the last ones there at the end of the night and as we were finishing they were getting ready to close and started cleaning. They let us finish without a word and were happily singing to themselves as they were cleaning. My friend ended up joining in and sand with them which brought all the cooks out and everyone was singing to The Backstreet Boys. I was watching them all have the time of their life just cleaning and song out loud. It was very affordable and one of the best dinners at a restaurant in over a decade! The best sushi around Festus by far! Hibatchi food but they don't cook in front of you. Kid friendly and easy parking for any size vehicle. If you have more than 7 in your party I would advise calling ahead. Dining room isn't real big. Highly recommend this place. Very good food all around. read more

My partner got the hibachi teriyaki chicken and I got the ichiraku ramen. This ramen was amazing! The broth was so flavorful and the chicken was fantastic! The noodles are cooked perfect and not too thick. My partner says the teriyaki chicken is the best he has ever had! The veggies were seasoned and cooked great and the rice was very flavorful! I got the JC Roll (8 or so of cut sushi) as well as a Philly roll (also around 8 pieces). The cost for just these two rolls was about 15 bucks. Super good stuff! The real deal was the hibachi in which gave a full portion, one you'd get at a hibachi grill, with the same taste and quality, for about half the price. Was only.. 12 bucks? But amazing. I have passed up this restaurant for a year and man what a silly mistake! Their food is amazing, fresh, delicious, flavorful and decently priced. They have many healthy options and are fast, so it's a perfect lunch place for me in my office job.
