For only $25 per person for the entire day, it's an incredible value. You can take your time, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery without feeling rushed. This was my second time paddleboarding and I loved it. The staff was friendly and gave us clear instructions on how to stand up properly and get started, which made us feel comfortable right away. I highly recommend going early in the morning or later in the afternoon. After about 10 a.m, it gets pretty hot, so don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and if possible, wear a lightweight long-sleeve shirt for sun protection. The funniest part of the day happened right at the end I finally lost my balance and fell into the water It was refreshing, everyone laughed, and honestly it became my favorite memory of the whole experience. They didn't give us any instructions on how to use the kayak, which is especially important for beginners. There was one staff member at the launch area, and when we were trying to get into the water, no one helped us push the kayak. What made it worse was that one staff member inside the shop pointed at us and laughed, and the staff by the shore joined in. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. Overall, a very poor experience. Definitely would not come back.

The views during the boat ride were absolutely amazing, and for a few hours I felt completely at peace--as if all my troubles had simply vanished. The atmosphere was relaxing, the scenery was beautiful, and it gave me a chance to clear my mind and just enjoy the moment. One of the things I enjoyed most was watching families and friends have a great time together. It was uplifting to see so many people creating memories, and I even had the opportunity to meet a few genuinely kind and interesting people along the way. What a fun & spontaneous thing to do & so we did on a Saturday afternoon! Hahaha! Boat | Roomy, spacious & clean! We sat at the top of the boat! The views were fantastic! Plenty of other boats/ships/yachts passed by along the way! It was a really beautiful day as well & simply, relaxing! I recommend bringing sunglasses and or sun hat if you're going to sit at the top of the boat, especially on a sunny day! Cruise | Informative! We were given the history of Long Beach, cruised by plenty of colorful shipping containers, as well as enjoyed the gorgeous views of Long Beach! The person on the loudspeaker did a fantastic job! I'm new to exploring the Long Beach area, so the information was helpful! Other Passengers | While chatting with my friend, a woman from Pacific Palisades joined us! She had a margarita in one hand and a big personality in the other hand! Haha! She had me laughing, nearly nonstop! She was hilarious, which made the boat ride even more fun! She even turned up music on her iPhone to add to the ambience! Good times, great energy! Cost: $19 per person! Score! The cruise was about an hour! Customer Service | The woman who booked us on the last-minute cruise, which was leaving in less than five minutes, was so friendly! She was personality plus, thanks again! The Captain was friendly as well! I spoke to him as we were exiting the boat & thanked him for a great cruise! Overall | What a fun cruise! They had plenty of seating inside and some outside as well, although we went during the week and it wasn't too busy. All team members were very friendly and welcoming, answering any questions with great attitudes. The views were nice and we were able to get some nice family pictures. Definitely recommend experiencing at least once or as a quick fun outing to catch some ocean breeze.

Started in 2001, the Aqua Link shuttles passengers along the 5-mile shoreline to connect DTLB…read more(Aquarium) with Alamitos Bay Landing (has one of my favorite brewpubs in Ballast Point). Managed by Long Beach Transit, it runs in the summer 7 days a week (4.5 round trips with one boat M-Th; 8.5 round trips with two boats Fr-Su). Cost is $5 one-way (no change in fares since beginning....heavily subsidized by LBT since I don't think the fares would cover the cost of fuel for these runs), and now accepts credit card taps (as well as TAP cards) at the point of entry (so no longer need exact change). One is required to exit the boat at each end-point, and then go to the end of the line for the return journey (if all one wants to do is to take the boat ride roundtrip). Unfortunately, the boats had limited capacity, and on both my trips, people in line towards the back didn't make the boat they were waiting for (which can be a problem since it could be up 1.5 hours between boats, though in my case it was only 45 minutes). Thus, had the chance to ride on both boats this Sunday (Aqualink from Aquarium to Alamitos Bay; Aqualink II from Alamitos Bay to Aquarium). Measuring time, it took about 41 minutes from leaving to exiting the boat in one direction. There is comfortable indoor seating (with a snack and alcohol bar area that was not open). Outside, there is a small space at both the aft and forward section of the boat where passengers can enjoy the outside (mostly standing room only). Life jackets are not required. It's mostly a smooth ride, but there is one area on the route where swells definitely makes your stomach feel the drop. Notes: (7/26/2026): Boarded at 13:42 from Aquarium Dock 4. Left exactly at 14:00. Landed at Queen Mary dock at 14:11. Left at 14:15. Captain intentionally did a pass-by of the Queen Mary for great picture opportunities (also saw the Carnival Panorama docked at the Carnival cruise port as well). Got off at Alamitos Bay at 14:42. Got back in line. Denied entry at 14:50 (was the first person of the group that didn't get on). Waited for next boat (Aqualink II). Boarded at 15:45. Left at 15:52. Landed at Aquarium (DTLB). Got off at 16:26.

We've been here once…read morebefore and had a great time, which is why we figured bringing some friends out to celebrate a birthday would be worthwhile. However, the customer service we experienced put a damper on the celebration. We brought a group of 14 on a Saturday afternoon and were told we needed to call ahead of time for a group larger than 8. Nowhere on their website or Yelp indicates a reservation is required for a group larger than 8. In fact, their website states walk-ins are welcome, but groups of 20 or more require a reservation. I'd recommend updating your website if the reservation requirements have changed. The guy at the counter pointed at their graveyard of broken kayaks as an excuse despite not even asking whether we wanted to paddle board or kayak. He stepped aside to call the owner about our large group and eventually okayed us to use their rentals. When we told him most of us wanted to paddle board and we needed only 2 tandem kayaks, he admitted he assumed we each wanted single kayaks--which he would have had to bring down to the water. It sounded like he was too lazy to bring single kayaks out for all of us, but we would have gladly helped if he had asked. Lucky for him, the paddle boards and kayaks we needed were already ready by the water for us. He made a big deal out of nothing. We did enjoy our time out on the water and brought back the rentals an hour before close. However, we all were very turned off by the customer service we received and will likely look for a new kayak/paddle board rental place to bring our business to. This experience definitely did not leave a good first impression to our friends who had not been here before.

Mike was fantastic--super knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He gave a thorough lesson on land, making sure my daughter was comfortable before hitting the water. I hear her saying..."he was such a good instructor" right now. What really stood out was the extra care he provided. He had a shaded tent set up for us with water and fresh fruit, which was such a thoughtful touch.
