Great first experience at Kayaks on the Water. Once your whole group has arrived you sign a waiver, watch a safety video (you can also watch it online before you arrive), get your gear and go! We had all watched the video already so we were checked in and on the water in under 10 minutes. It's bearing the end of moon jelly season but we were still able to see some and even touch one or two. It's very neat to see them out in the wild, they are beautiful creatures. The water on the canals was fairly calm and it was an easy kayak route. We had a great time!

This was such an exciting and amusing activity for anyone! You could go here for a date, with friends, even with family. There were multiple paths that you could explore (see map). The kayaking itself was such a workout that I personally enjoyed. (I barely paddled , my sister did the work) Our arms were definitely toned after almost 2 hours of kayaking. We went during the summer so we were able to see the moon jellies that were swimming there for the season. Staff were all so friendly & helpful with guiding us as to where to go. Only $14 to kayak. $35 to do paddle boarding, although that includes the whole instructor teaching shabang thing PLUS a certificate! All succeeding visits would be $10, per that staff member I spoke with . Might try that next time!

Best place to renew kayaks/SUP boards. Easy check in and you pay for the first hour then by time after (not full hour just by minutes) which is a super good deal. Rental for kayaks was $16/hourly per person June 2025. Simple and efficient the best!

This is my second time here...Great place for some kayaks, solo or group, beginner to expert. Friends want to checkout so here we go again. Great neighborhood to do this.

    Kayak fun!

We had such a fun time with a lot of arm exercise! They charge $14/ hr. After the first hour, they charge by the minute if under an hour so you don't have to worry about going a whole hour more. We spent 3 hrs. on the water. We're beginners and it took us a little bit to get in tandem with each other. We went to see the jellies that don't sting and you can touch them. They show you where to find them on the map. Afterwards, we kayaked the Naples Canal. On 4th of July, bring big squirt guns for the water fight and prepare to get wet!

My friend and I came here on a Thursday morning. We rented a two-person kayak and set out to see the canals. We were able to lock up our bags at the desk and leave our shoes in a cubby, which was much appreciated. There wasn't too much information provided (other than the mandatory safety video to watch before you get in the boat), but the staff member was nice. And only $12/hour, too!

I had such a great time! It was my first time and my arms were killing afterwards but would absolutely do it again. The price is really the best I have seen. A lot of other places are overpriced. It was jelly fish season when we went but I couldn't make it out that far to see it but still cool, I was able to see other little swimming critters so loved that. Also All the people working were really nice. Will be back

ALL OF MY CREDIT CARDS WERE STOLEN! Kayaked here a week ago, 9/11/25. While we were kayaking someone unlocked the trunk of our car, took out my purse and stole my credit cards! Filed a police report immediately! Ironically it is the policy of this establishment to either leave your ID or keys with them while you are kayaking. Not hard to see what happened here.

Great customer service! The people working here are really chill. Two people ran over to help a person nearby when she fainted. This was our second time here and renting a paddle board is very easy and straight forward. You can sign up for their speed card and have free training sessions/tune ups. The area to paddle board is nice to. You can go around mother's Beach and naples

Ask the Community - Kayaks On the Water

Are dog allowed on the kayaks?

I saw some dogs, but I'm not sure whether the owners had their own kayaks or rented.

How much are the kayak rental or am I just paying by the hour?

Yes, you pay by the hour (or fraction of hour) for the kayak rental. Example, if you use an hour and 15 minutes you will only get charged for the hour and 15 minutes.

Can you bring your own kayak?

    Yes!

Will you be open tomorrow (memorial day?

    Do they have gift cards?

    Yes, call them to confirm

    Are they opened low season?

Don't know what their hours are now due to Covid-19. You might want to call ahead and check.

Can one adult and 2 kids share a two person kayak?

Yes they can do that but depends on how big the kids are to balance out the kayak.

How little-kid friendly is this operation?

Very kid friendly! There are life guards that are super on top of it, and there are no waves!

    Do they take credit card?

    Yes

How do we get a membership?

Hi Margie S. They actually don't have the membership up and running yet. But do register online with them before you go down there as they just want to make sure you have watched the video. But if like me, you have been there dozens of times and…

What is the weight limit on both kayaking and paddle boarding?

I believe recreational kayaks have a limit of 250-300 pounds. I'm not sure about paddle boarding

Is there a designated parking area? Also, are there lockers where we can store items or should they just be left in the car?

All beach parking lots are now open, in addition to street parking on Ocean Blvd and the surrounding area.…

Can i bring my two year old to go on the kayak together?

Probably Not. All kayakers must know how to swim.

Are there any moon jellies this time of year and if so, where can I find them?

The moon jellies have returned! They like to hang out in Spinnaker Cove and near Marina Pacifica

How much is it to rent kayaks now (June 2020)? Is it per hour?

Kayaks are just $12 per person, per hour

Do you have to wear a life vest?

    YES.

Do they provide life jackets for dogs or do you need your own?

We do not provide life jackets for pets, but they are welcome to join you!

Is there an age minimum for kids?

It's really about being able to swim. and If they will be with a parent/adult or on there own.

Are you allowed to bring small dogs with you?

Yes and life jackets for dogs is optional.

They also have a key to the bathroom, which is around the corner. Even though we were 20 minutes early, they let us get on the water bike after a quick instruction. Riding on the water bikes was really fun! We rode around the bay and the water was choppy sometimes but as you get inside the bay, the water is calmer. A trick is that if you feel the water is too choppy, start paddling - the water will calm down with the pedaling. There are several boats around which provided live music for us. The bike has two cup holders and a front container to put your phones and small stuff in. We had a great time. They share a parking lot with nearby restaurants which offer 3 hours of free parking. That is a huge plus for something near the beach! We will be back next time to try a glow ride.

They are extremely knowledgeable of the ocean the animals the water the skis etc. very friendly. And when they had to help me out of the water two times they didn't complain. With that being said I want to encourage everyone to do this. I'm a 55 year old lady. 5'6" not in shape. I'm a waitress so I walk but I have no desire for the gym. lol. So my daughter signed us up. I'm not knowing we have to swim through a cave. You have the option to stay on. Me I thought go go now. But that here nor there I was in the water. There is a hook or step on the back of the ski to help but I have a little more junk in my truck and needed a little more help. The two of them got me out. Then after getting to the island. There are two routes. The back island is for adventures. There's snorkeling and climbing and you can hang out. very little shopping or eating. But you go to the cave and then swim through it with a guide and then get to the island where you are there for three hours. If you go to the Avalon side you are there for three hours but I feel there is more to do on that side. But if you are adventurous and don't like a lot of people go to the back side. Both I have been to and both are fun. We went to the backside and we were going to snorkel. After the three hours you meet back at the jet skis and it's a fun trip back home. On the way there I was trying to get the hang of it and was always last. there were some speed devils in the group. lol. I was a newbie. On the way back I felt a little more confident. leaving we took off and we're traveling for about 10 min or so when The tour guide along with another person mentioned a pod of dolphins. So we turned around to go back. They swam with the skis. It was a blast. Then we headed back to Long Beach. It took about an hour and 45 min to get there. This included going to the cave and swimming through. There are three stops. It was about an hour and a half to get back. No cave. You are never alone and there is always a guide or another jet ski person around. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I got a little confidence and was doing 42 when two sides of water came at me and I crashed and was thrown from the ski. Again they came and rescued me. Never was I scared or in any danger of anything. After getting me there were a few others that were helped out of the water as well. It was such an awesome time. I loved it and would definitely do it again. Questions I had that after going I'm going to mention and hope this helps you. We meet at 7 am. You park at the hotel. You are stamped and valida through jet ski company so bring your parking ticket. It was only 14 dollars. The jet ski has enough room for two large backpacks. I had a large one and my daughter had a medium one and there was enough room for another backpack. Now if it is not a waterproof backpack I suggest bringing a plastic bag as there is a little water that does get into the jet ski . not a lot maybe two to three ounces. Wear gloves. Very important. Also bring and wear sunscreen. And I recommend boat or water shoes. I give this trip 5 the only thing that I would have a complaint about is the wetsuit itself. You get a long sleeve one piece shorts wetsuit that they give you. They wash or rinse everyday after the tour. Mine was still wet and had a mildew smell. Not anything bad and you don't end up smelling like it when you take it off. But that would be the only thing I could even complain about.

They were professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. They took an incredible adventure and made it even better. Before our trip, I spent a lot of time reading reviews trying to figure out what was actually worth bringing. Here's what I found compared to my own experience: The most commonly recommended items were sunscreen, gloves, water shoes, and goggles. I completely agree. We brought all of them just in case and ended up using everything except the goggles. I wear contacts and expected the ocean spray to be an issue, but it never bothered me. That said, I'd still recommend bringing goggles, you may appreciate having them depending on the conditions. I also saw quite a few reviews mentioning the smell of the wetsuits. Honestly, ours weren't bad at all. We wore them on the ride over to Catalina, and on the return trip they weren't required. If you do wear one, I'd recommend leaving the top half down around your waist when you're not in the water. It gives you a little extra padding on the seat while still keeping you comfortable. The ride to Catalina was smooth, and we were able to really open the skis up and enjoy the speed. The ride back was a little choppier, making it more technical to navigate, but it was still an absolute blast. The jet skis are also surprisingly practical. There are two storage compartments: one large enough to hold two or three full-size backpacks, and a second waterproof compartment that's perfect for your phone, chapstick, wallet, or other small essentials while keeping everything easily accessible. We made three scenic stops on the way to Catalina, which gave everyone a chance to rest, take photos, and enjoy the views. The highlight of the trip, though, was the wildlife. We rode alongside a massive pod of dolphins, and it was one of the most breathtaking experiences I've ever had. Being out in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by dolphins in their natural habitat, is something I'll never forget. We also saw seals, which made the experience even more special. I can't recommend this adventure enough. It's more than just a jet ski ride, it's a true ocean adventure and an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. If you're considering it, book it. You won't regret it.
