We enjoyed our first SUP experience with Paddle the Florida Keys. Our guide Kelly was great. My husband wasn't sure how he'd do on the stand up paddle but Kelly was very reassuring and he was standing and relaxed in no time. She let him practice in his knees first so he could get acclimated to the instability. She took our small group through a mangrove trail, showing us marine life and pointing out different things along the way. She gave us an education on mangrove trees, lion fish and the ecosystem. The shop itself was very nice, lots of cool stuff to buy!Like the others who complained about the parking, it was definitely tight. I didn't take away stars for that though. I would highly recommend Paddle! Unlike Aquaholics who did not return my calls or emails, Paddle answered right away, was friendly and knowledgeable. Oh, it was also cool that my daughter could kayak while we SUP'd. Great experience all around. Excellent equipment. read more

We finished snorkeling with Keys Diver and weren't done with the Keys just yet. After a quick bite at Hobo's, we checked out Paddle the Keys, as recommended by Nate the Mate from our snorkeling trip. And he was right!! Super chill and a super value! The gentleman inside pointed out a few different spots to paddle out to, as well as recommended a spot to go snorkel. While we didn't do the snorkeling (our skin was COOKING after 3 hours on the water) we did have a great time paddling out to Tavanier Island and saw some massive horseshoe crabs and a few lazy nurse sharks. We had a great time and will be back here the next time we come down! read more

Absolutely 110% recommend! The staff was sweet and personable. We rented a tandem kayak $30 for the whole day. They let you come and go as you please throughout the day. They are in a cute little strip that has a bar (must try their mojito)and a small restaurant with delicious tacos! It was such a friendly atmosphere all throughout and the staff at Paddle the Florida Keys were very personable and informative. There is an island within paddle distance- although it's rocky, it is so beautiful with a 365 degree view of the water. We cruised around under a nearby bridge too and saw A TON of spiney lobster. I came down to the Keys with a group of 16 HS students and 2 other chaperones. On a Saturday morning, we decided to come to Paddle Paddle Paddle to spend the morning kayaking and paddle boarding. Scott and Devon were accommodating to our large group, very patient and friendly. Devon and Scott led us on a 2-hour tour of the area, pointing out sea creatures, plants and other wildlife. Upon our return, Devon laid out the chill raft on the water so the girls could...chill for a little while before returning to our hotel. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return when back in the area either with students or friends/family. read more

My family and I are always in the Keys and constantly looking around for new places. We decided to go kayaking and found this place. We decided to go because they are one of the few places that charge a flat fee versus per hour. The staff was fantastic; super friendly and informative. They were willing to help out any way they could. The spot where they are located is really nice for kayaking/paddle boarding. You go one way , you got open ocean and a cool little island, and you go the other way and you have cool mangrove areas. Excellent service, excellent location, and overall great experience. From now on I'm heading here if I need to rent any type of equipment for the water. read more

Went kayaking May 2017 at this spot. Fast and easy rental, waiver and payment and your all set. We paddled out to an island located near the rental departure. Island had a swing, and we were able to take some nice pictures. Prices were great as well. Definitely an experience to try! read more

This is the best place to rent paddle boards in the upper keys! Paddle the Florida Keys has probably the best rental rate on all of the Keys at $35 for the entire day. This means you can go out all day or you can paddle for a couple hours in the morning, drop the boards off while you grab lunch and then head back out on the water for a few more hours of fun after lunch. They also have the best of both worlds with options to explore the mangroves or head out to the ocean where a few small islands are ready for your exploration. The staff are super friendly and helpful, too! I've tried a few other paddle rental places in the Keys but this has taken the #1 spot in my book. We can't wait to rent from them again! read more

As a relatively active couple, we didn't come to the Keys to sit around drinking margaritas and getting sunburnt; we actually wanted to DO stuff. This morning, we joined Paddle the Florida Keys on a stand-up paddleboarding excursion that was PERFECT! We set out in the mangroves, en route to Buttonwood Sound, from Sunset BLVD. We paddle along the shore line seeing barracuda, mullet, needlefish, Sgt Majors, and Loggerhead Sponges. We continued along the shore and within the mangroves for the first 30 mins, and then headed out into the sound. Because we went 'early' (10 AM), we avoided the wind & boats. In fact, we had to ask to specifically to go early, because most tourists are too hung over to go before 1 PM. We chose the 2 hr trip, which was just the right amount of time to maintain our interest. Our guide, Trisha, was extremely knowledgeable of the local flora/fauna, which provided an informative trip, without being overly academic. Highlight of the trip...swimming. It was GREAT to be able to take a dip in the clear, warm waters, as the day got warmer. By diving down below the thermocline, we were able to partake in the cooler waters, which were incredibly refreshing. The staff was great, the trip was beautiful, and we highly recommend this outing. read more

The gang at Paddle the Keys really left a great impression on me and my boyfriend, both first time paddlers. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a super laid back, friendly woman who gave us the run down on the 3 different options for paddling that day. We had the choice of signing up for a group 2-hour tour, taking a lesson, or having a go on our own. Feeling adventurous, we decided to go exploring on our own. (Not knowing if we'd hold up the group during a tour as first-timers may have played a small factor...). We filled out our paper work, and then were given the owners cell phone number and told it would be a good idea to grab lunch before we set out for the day. She gave us a great rec on a lunch spot (Mrs. Mac's: right up the street and an awesome lunch spot!) and told us to call the owner once we were done and he would meet us at the loading ramp with the boards. After lunch, we did just that, and another super friendly girl (wish we had gotten her name) met us at the boat ramp, and gave us a quick tutorial on getting up on the board, turning, stopping, etc. She provided us with a (laminated) map to take with us to navigate our way through all of the mangroves, and showed us some of her personal favorite areas to explore. We then set off on our way. Being first timers, my boyfriend and I weren't sure if we'd enjoy it, or just how long we'd last, but were told we had all afternoon (until 5) and to just give them a call when we wanted them to come back to pick up the boards. Hesitant but excited, we set out to explore. After a few wobbly minutes, we got the hang of it. Next thing we knew more than 3 hours had passed and we were enjoying every minute. There were miles and miles of canals/mangroves to explore, not to mention plenty of boats to check out (which was of particular interest to my boyfriend who owns a boating company). We were able to cruise past a dolphin park and watch the excited children being pushed around the pools by the playful creatures, which was an awesome addition to our day. All in all, an awesome experience, made even better by great people. A day my boyfriend and I will never forget. read more

I signed up for a 2-hour paddle board tour and had an amazing experience! Sarah was my guide and she was very knowledgeable on the local flora and fauna, and helped me out with some tips on paddle boarding to get up to speed quickly. We saw a nurse shark, two rays, a blue crab, a barracuda, and she took me by a "swim with the dolphins" location on a canal. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has good balance and won't mind the potential of getting wet! read more

My son and I came in after four hours of being on a boat for snorkeling the beautiful Florida Key Largo. Even though that we had made appointments for a two hour tour, we were completely exhausted. I was told that they would refund my money totally if we did not complete the tour but I felt that it was fair to pay for half since we've have done it for one hour. We did not see any manatees but the customer service was excellent so I recommend for anybody to come and visit and see for themselves. read more

But, since we really just wanted to explore the secret lagoon route, he let us just do a daily rental and go our own way... two hours before officially opening. We had to meet people for lunch but when we turned the kayaks in, he said to come on back if we wanted to take them out again since we'd paid for the day. This was my first time in the keys so I obviously wanted to be on the water. I've never kayaked or paddle boarded, so I did some research to find a good place to start. The islands have a lot of places to pick from, but I landed on this one...and sure am glad! The prices are fantastic, the staff is friendly and knowledgable, and the location is perfect to start. Also, they will deliver your chosen vessel if you would like to enjoy on your turf. I asked the owner, what should I start with? And he suggested paddle board but said hey, you don't like it we will switch you over to kayak, no extra charge. Wow! What wonderful service! We absolutely loved that we were able to experience SUP with this business! Our appointment was for 9am and we were helped right when we walked in. Mike helped us get all signed in and onto our boards. He was able to explain to my friend who had zero experience how to steer and stand properly. We went out about 930 and stayed out for a few hours. Saw jellyfish, sharks, and huge stingrays. Such an amazing experience out here in the Keys.
