Solid poké place but I think I still like Naked Fins better. Fresh fish and decent selection. I was dying after my flight to Boise and this helped assuage my fears. They were barbecuing chicken for their bowls when I showed up and I think that might be the star of the show. Trippy blue rice that's supposed to be healthier for you but who knows? Tasted great all the same. Parking is strange because the meters don't sync to the app they tell you to get. Hope we don't get towed?

The 5 stars is for the customer service, and I really think that the staff working today did amazing. This is my first time here, so I didn't know exactly how it worked. Any question I had, the employee was ready to answer. Very accommodating and tons of options to choose from. For a poke spot in the middle of Boise, this place is great! Not quite like some I've had in Hawaii, but definitely hit the spot!

I had the Paddles Up traditional Poké bowl with blue rice. A very good sushi bowl with marinated tuna, avocado, onions, ginger, over a bed of blue rice. I was curious about the blue rice, it's just a neutral food dye that doesn't add any flavor, still very cool presentation. I will definitely return to try the rest of the items on their menu.

Munchin' Eagle Road Rage before braving the 5:00 rush. I promise I was in the parking lot taking this!!!

My employer loves to feed us, and I'm so happy someone suggested Paddles Up Poké because I've been wanted to try this place for forever! First off, props go to whoever named the dishes. You got "Sun Valley Ski Bum," "California Invasion," and my favorite, "Eagle Road Rage." Y'all know exactly what they're talking about lol! I filled up to the Eagle Road Rage (Salmon, Wasabi Shoyu, Seaweed Salad, Cucumber, Jalapeños, Pineapple, Wasabi Cream, Siracha, Chili Flakes) mainly because that name is just too good and it sounded delicous. To make things fun I ordered mine in sushi form. Yeah, a sushi burrito! If you haven't tried this you're missing out. Anyway, it was delicous! I loved it and would definitely order it again. Everything was FRESH and SMOOTH. That poké literally melted in my mouth. And it was rather large. I only ate about half and saved the rest for the trip home. It saved surprisingly well. Only complaint? I think the wasabi cream and sriracha was forgotten because there wasn't much flavor. Thankfully I had my own little bottle of sriracha. If I ordered this again, I'd order a bowl. 10/10 recommend!

    Poke Bowl w/blue rice!!

First time eating a poke bowl...absolutely delicious & awesomeness. Mine had blue rice! No I did not make a typing error - blue rice. And it was yummy just like white or brown rice. Packed with crab, avocado, roe, seaweed, crunchy cucumbers, ginger, salmon, tuna & some delicious sauce. I ate every little yummy morsel - now in poke bowl coma!! Stuffed to the gills. You gotta try it!!

Delicious food as always. My favorite is when they write notes on their napkins. Really makes my day. Highly recommend!

Pretty good! Lots of choices to make your own bowl and the musubi was tasty but for some reason the rice was blue?¿ Not as much flavor as other poké places I've had and the salmon was pretty fishy tasting but all in all a solid choice. Great prices.

Located in the quiet shops off Entertainment, CK Hawaiian BBQ touts they have the best Hawaiian food in Boise. I think there is potential but they need an entire makeover, from the space to the recipes. For one, the restaurant was not clean. The tables were grimy and the floor was oddly sticky. It felt like the place hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. I ordered the Kalua Park Plate (savory pork with (or without) cabbage) with a side of macaroni and gravy ($8.45 for small), my husband the Chicken Katso also with a side of macaroni and gravy (panko breaded chicken breast, $9.55). We decided to take our food home. The second I opened the boxes, I was unimpressed. I'll spare you my very descriptive and unappetizing statement (something about the remarkable resemblance to wet cat food), but to be blunt, I was appalled. It was soggy mess of a few pieces of pork with way to much cabbage. I took one small bite and couldn't stomach anymore. Even my husband exclaimed "what the actual f***." The rest of the food wasn't the worst. The chicken katsu was breaded good but I was like where tf is the katsu sauce?! It wasn't anything special at all. At least it was edible. The macaroni salad was okay. It didn't taste very fresh, probably an old batch. I'm no Hawaiian food expert and based off their menu I got the impression that they're not aimed at providing traditional Hawaiian fare, but more so "inspired" fare. However, regardless of the origin of the food the fact remained that what I received tonight was terrible. Two stars, because the employees were very nice. And were very accommodating when we changed from dine-in to take-out.

Their steamed vegetables are the most delicious and unique I've ever tasted. I think they add a special seasoning, but it's perfectly balanced. I usually stick to a vegetable-heavy meal and skip the macaroni salad. The Katsu chicken plate with katsu sauce is a favorite of mine, and their tempura 2-piece shrimp is tasty and reasonably priced. On my first visit, I tried the best-seller and was blown away by how good it was. I ordered the tossed salad with raspberry vinegar dressing, Teri sauce cup, and spicy mayo sauce cup. I love that they serve your food on a bed of fresh coleslaw or cabbage, which is my favorite vegetable. They did this with the two-piece shrimp as well. I highly recommend downloading the app because you can earn rewards quickly. And finally, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Review #18 for 2022…read more My brother and I just happened upon this place as we were walking around downtown. We saw a truck parked on the side of the road that said, "Kanak Kitchen," so we looked it up on Google Maps and realized it was just around the corner. As Hawaii boys we needed to try it out. Kanak Kitchen is located on the fourth floor of an office building, so if you don't know that it's there, it's easy to miss. I imagine it's mostly just the workers in that building that frequent Kanak Kitchen, but I'd love to see more people from all around try this place. I'd call Kanak Kitchen a fusion of foods from Hawaii. We got poke nachos, which had a good amount of poke and chips with cheese. The quantities were proportional, and it came with some salsa too. We also tried a plate with kalbi short ribs, chicken katsu, Asian slaw, and coconut rice. Coconut rice is not typical in Hawaii, but it was very good as a support for savory foods. The chicken katsu was crispy and good. The kalbi was also good, but we're not used to it having a vinegar flavor. I'd like it a little more well done as it was kinda chewy, but still good overall. There's lots of seating in the restaurant, and there's also a quick serve kiosk on the first floor. Kanak Kitchen does catering too, but we haven't been able to try it yet. The owner Mike is nice, and we look forward to going back to try other foods too!

As a vegetarian, Hawaiian restaurants scare me. They're normally all about pork products--it's just…read morethe cultural preference. That's great, but I am just not into a pig roast or a slab of spam. Kanak Kitchen, though, is totally vegetarian-friendly and has more options than almost anywhere in town. They offer tofu for almost every entree as a protein choice, and if you ask for something meatless they're very accommodating. I love their tofu katsu, which is crispy fried tofu. It's available in a rice bowl, in their Asian burrito, and on a sandwich. The tofu is best in their Hawaiian tacos. For $6, you get two tofu tacos with Asian slaw and cotija cheese (I nixed the Sriacha sauce because I'm a wimp). The tofu is perfectly crispy and light and pairs with the vinegar and salt in the slaw and the creaminess of the cheese and creates a perfect taco. Most meals come with a side--salad, chips, soup, or their amazing cheesy tots. Let's be real, if you're an Idahoan, you're going for the tots. They're covered with gooey cheese, salty, and fried perfectly. If you want to keep it lighter, grab a salad. They have Asian, Ceasar, chicken bacon, luau, spinach bacon, and shrimp options. I asked for the Asian salad, which normally comes with chicken, but with tofu instead, and they agreed without a second question. I always appreciate service that is willing to meet a reasonable request with a yes. If you have room in your stomach, try a soup. They're house-made and phenomenal. I've tried the three-bean and the potato, and both were rich, creamy, and popped with flavor. Other sides include elotes, Hawaiian macaroni, potato, and a fruit medley. All are good but their kimchi is amazing and a unique option that isn't overly heavy. The desserts are amazing too. All of them have creative Hawaiian twists on a classic. Two thumbs up on the bread pudding, but the pineapple upside-down cake is my favorite. Prices are totally reasonable--around $9 for a hot sandwich with a side, or their enormous burrito, or a burger loaded with toppings. You definitely get your money's worth and will leave with a doggie bag too. The owner is an absolutely wonderful man. He also hires immigrants in the community, which I commend as a means of helping extend our Boise niceness to people from outside the valley. I will be back here. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe tonight. Once you try the food, you will too. There's nothing like it in Boise.
