We ventured in for lunch while running a few errands in the area and ordered a few things: * Agedashi Tofu * Vegetable Tempura * Edamame * Hamachi Roll * Salmon and Steak Teriyaki Combo (it came with miso soup, a small salad, and rice). There was nothing that really stood out, in my opinion. The food was just okay. I found all of the sauces to be pretty lack luster (agedashi tofu sauce, salad dressing, and tempura sauce) . It may have been a slow day, there were only about 4-5 tables of customers other than us. Our waitress wasn't very attentive, we actually had to try to make eye contact a few times just to get refills on our water. The restaurant itself was clean and there's a decent amount of space on the inside. I won't say that I would never come back. But it's not a place I would purposely revisit either. read more

What a lovely little gem nestled in a seemingly uninspired area of Fairview. Came here recently on a Monday evening. Our party of three was able to be seated straight away. The dining room is adorable. It looks newly renovated and is fresh, sleek and comfortable. We started with with an order of their potstickers, which were delicious. One order had six potstickers which was a perfect starter for our group of three. I opted for their vegetable maki entree for my main. It came with three different vegetarian rolls. All three were outstanding. Their entrees also come with either soup or salad--I opted for the soup, which was your typical miso soup. The broth was rich and the soup was comforting and flavorful. This has been our go-to spot since we moved here! They have so many options that are reasonably priced for sushi, and they're generally fast. We get takeout a lot, which is always delicious. They recently remodeled, so there's a lot more space inside too. We always get two traditional rolls - usually Prince and Princess Rolls. My husband loves the chicken fried rice, and I enjoy the salmon nigiri and roll. The people are so nice too. They really want to take care of you, especially when you're waiting for takeout. Stopped into Island Sushi and Ramen for a quick lunch. It's been a few years since I have been here. The last I remember, this joint was really small and dated. I was quite amazed walking in today how beautiful it is! They remodeled the joint and it's so pretty! I love the light wood everywhere and how soft it feels. There are lots of windows so it makes the venue so bright. They also expanded into another unit which created more dining area for more customers. Waka, who served me was a previous co worker of mine. So, my review on her is going to be bias. She's the best server there! Her face warmed up as soon as she saw me which is the best feeling. Waka cleared a table for me in her area. I knew what I wanted so my order was taken quickly. For lunch I grabbed some miso, a teriyaki veggie bento box and some tamago. My soup and salad came out fast! I will have to say, that bowl is miso was stellar! It was salty, there was big pieces of nori and tofu. It was extra warm. It was a perfect fall day for the miso. I got a salad with my bento box. I appreciate that the lettuce wasn't straight out of the fridge. The salad dressing was quite watery and did lack flavor. Such a bummer cause there was so much potential there. My bento box looked beautiful. The veggies were vibrant in color, the Cali roll was stacked nicely and there was fresh cantaloupe as well. The veggies were cooked perfectly, not too hard and not to soft. There was a good variety. I enjoyed the zucchini pieces the most. The teriyaki sauce was a little off for me. There was an after taste that i didn't enjoy. The Cali roll was good. I liked the nori that they used to roll out in. Sometimes seaweed can be chewy when it's softened but this seaweed wasn't. I didn't like the portions of crab to avocado. I felt like i was eating an avocado roll vs. a Cali roll. The Tamago was nicely plated. It was not overly sweet and was moist. Dipped in Wasabi and soy sauce and you got flavor heaven! Overall, it was a decent lunch. I am still in awww over their remodel, it's just so pretty and spacious. If you eat there in Mondays, ask for Waka!! She is the best and well take good care of you! read more

Our favorite sushi rolls were the spicy seaside, the Yellowstone the island roll. You really just get so much food for the price. Even the miso soup is delish! Such a great little sushi spot! They have a wide selection of rolls and their specialty rolls come with miso soup. I recommend the ocean roll, by far our favorite! All of the staff were so kind and they were efficient in getting food out and cleaning tables. This is a small restaurant, maybe 12 tables and a sushi bar so go early! Also they only take reservations for large parties but people move in and out fast so the wait isn't bad. read more
