Very good sushi option for this area. Broad menu selection, friendly service and reasonable pricing. We had the sashimi/sushi for 2 which came on the traditional large wooden boat--which is always fun. The size of the sashimi pieces was larger than previous places we've been and it was fresh and flavorful. Wish it were closer to Eagle but we will make a point to eat here when we are down in the Fairview area.

The platter Sushi&Sashimi For 2

Came here last night for my husbands birthday. Sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were super friendly. We order the platter for two and it was more than enough. Sashimi was super friends and ice cold when it was severed. Price was super reasonable especially for the amount we got. This platter was only $54!

Boise Roll, delicious!!

The food was super delicious! The fish tasted fresh and the rice was a good consistency. Great flavor. All the waitresses were attentive and helpful. Would definitely come back

What a lovely little gem nestled in a seemingly uninspired area of Fairview. Came here recently on a Monday evening. Our party of three was able to be seated straight away. The dining room is adorable. It looks newly renovated and is fresh, sleek and comfortable. We started with with an order of their potstickers, which were delicious. One order had six potstickers which was a perfect starter for our group of three. I opted for their vegetable maki entree for my main. It came with three different vegetarian rolls. All three were outstanding. Their entrees also come with either soup or salad--I opted for the soup, which was your typical miso soup. The broth was rich and the soup was comforting and flavorful. The service was fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

This is my husband and I's favorite weekend restaurant. The food is always wonderful and consistent and the service is always so nice. I highly recommend their tonkatsu ramen, spicy hot roll, miss roll, and king roll. The ambiance to this place is especially special because of its couples/romantic theme. The cherry blossom decide and soft lighting just make feel so homey and sweet.

Really nice sushi spot, the food is great! I really appreciate that they use real crab instead of imitation, which makes a huge difference! The service is great, and staffs are really helpful.

Fried rice, wonton soup, gyoza, spider roll was absolutely amazing!

The workers here are SO kind, always a pleasure chatting with them. The sushi is so tasty, fried rice is great, wonton soup is a must have, hearty and comforting.

Once again i have to give them 5 stars. I havent been here in over a year and its truly the best sushi restaurant in the treasure valley. The service is impeccable and speedy quick! My friend was admiring her sushi roll and our server was scared she had added what was meant to be taken off. The care for customers is insane. We were both taken aback on how she would remeber even on a busy lunch rush ! The place was pretty busy but they had food out so quickly people were just flying in and out they have a great system going on. Food is fresh. Environment is well put. Customer service amazing. I cant find one complaint.

Great sushi with great service in a clean restaurant at great prices! Lunch menu M-Sat is where it's at if you are on a budget. The Sushi and Sashimi lunch combo is so worth $17.50. Includes choice of miso or salad. Chicken Teriyaki Bento box looked really good too! 10 stars!

Island Sushi and Ramen Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Island Sushi and Ramen

Do they offer all you can eat?

No, they do not have an all you can eat option.

It's their ramen gluten free?

Hey! I've not asked them this question before, but I am led to believe it is not gluten-free at this time. I have not yet seen on their menu that suggests they have the option to substitute for gluten-free either.

I love sushi! Are they pretty clean and fresh?

Yes. Everything appeared freshly made and the area appeared clean.

My go-to is for sure the Spicy Tonkotsu but I've also enjoyed the Tan Tan (miso broth with spicy sweet ground pork). The Cream Cheese Wontons are to die for. They're only $3.99 and you get 5 pieces of these deep fried delicious bits, as well as a side of sweet chili sauce. If you're not feeling soup, I'd suggest the Karaage bowl (crunchy Japanese fried chicken on steamed rice topped with green onion, green onion and unagi (eel) sauce or the Pork Belly bowl (same as the Karaage bowl but with delicious, juicy pan fried pork belly). Prices are incredibly reasonable. Bowls are anywhere from $7.50-$14.00 and come with generous amounts of food.

Staffing at lunch was on the light side, as it took quite a while to get the hostess/waitresses' attention so we could get seated, then some time to get our order in. Not all that unusual for a sushi bar. I had a Sapporo, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was on tap and in a ice cold chilled mug. We ordered a mixture of sashimi and nigiri, and all of it was very good to excellent. The presentation was equally as good. Completely recommend this place, and I will be back soon!

One employee cooking and running from the kitchen to do everything, cook, register, bus tables, likely without washing hands. Probably works on clogged toilets without washing hands. Nobody at front counter. They have a screen where you order and pay. Everything is self serve and they have the gall to force a tip at checkout. They only accept credit cards and then added a service fee without my acknowledgement. You actually make your own boba. False advertising. Ramen is in the business name but no Ramen on menu. Everything is plastic. This place must be the biggest contributor to the hundreds of miles of floating plastic in the Pacific Ocean. Took 20 minutes to get my food and I was only one other customer at 1 pm on a Thursday. Totally effed up my order. I made it dine in and it came out in a bag to go. Super salty kung pao chicken. Only flimsy plastic ware. All of this is BS. $15 for food I would not allow a dog to eat. After tasting everything in my order, all of it went in the trash can.

If you are looking for the absolute WORST sushi experience in the entire Treasure Valley,…read morecongratulations, you found it. I have never dealt with such atrocious service & their Sushi was subpar at best & that's being generous. Right out of the gate, it was a total disaster. The waitress brought absolutely nothing to the table--no utensils, no ginger, no wasabi, nothing. You know, the standard basics that literally every other sushi joint on the planet drops off on autopilot? We had to literally request every single item just to physically eat our meal. Then came the food--or whatever you want to call it. I specifically asked if I could swap tuna for yellowtail and asked about getting what I actually liked instead of just settling for "chef's choice." They completely ignored me & brought the exact opposite of what I ordered. Nothing we got was correct. My guest ordered a lobster and fish roll, and they handed her a plate of literal, unidentifiable mush. There were no actual pieces of fish or lobster to be found anywhere in it. Just mush. And the scam they pulled with the ikura was unbelievable. I ordered two portions, which is supposed to be four pieces total, which again is commonly standard at any other Sushi restaurant. Instead, they brought out two pieces. When I pointed it out, the manager actually came over to our table to argue with me, insisting I was going to be charged full price for half the food. Literally $5ea for 1 piece of Sashimi that tasted like shit. Outside of the painfully incompetent service and the manager's garbage attitude, the fish had no flavor, They didn't even bring out all the food we ordered, but we were so fed up and disgusted by that point that we just paid the bill and walked out. I don't know if this is how they run their business every single day, but it was bad enough to warrant this warning. There are plenty of incredible sushi spots around here. Do not waste your time or your money at this absolute trainwreck of a restaurant. I guarantee I will never step foot in this place again.
