I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing major repairs. I originally came to this shop because they gave me a great price on labor to replace my brakes and rotors, and I was happy with that service. So I returned when I needed my AC repaired. Unfortunately, that's when the problems started. I was first told I needed a new ac compressor an let them do the job, then a few day later its stopped working and my check engine light came on and I was told I needed a heater core replacement or else my engine would heat up and that my engine oil was low when I had just done an oil change, they also refuse to provide the codes that were detected, and after spending a significant amount of money, my AC still wasn't fixed. I was told the issue is now the air evaporator, which would require another costly repair. I also received conflicting information from staff regarding who was responsible for handling customer concerns, and when I requested written documentation of the diagnosis, I was told I would have to pay an additional $160. When I expressed my concerns and requested at least a partial refund due to the unresolved AC issue and repeated repairs, my request was denied. After my experience, I went back and read other reviews and noticed similar complaints from customers who brought their vehicles in for AC repairs and experienced additional issues afterward. While I can't speak to anyone else's situation, seeing those reviews combined with my own experience has made me question the quality and accuracy of the diagnostic work being performed. read more

They have been fixing and maintaining our cars for years. They are honest, and finish the job when they promise. The two mechanics named Jesus are knowledgeable, respectful, and informative. I think the prices are reasonable. I feel that building a report with a mechanic it's key and that is the main reason we are satisfied with their services. read more

99.9% of auto mechanic places treat you like you're stupid and they're rude and not friendly. Padilla's auto center is the first place that not only has good prices but the service is great and they're friendly. They don't push you with additional work on your car, you just tell them what you want and they get you on your way. I asked for new front brakes and an hour or so later i was out. I went along with my friend this past weekend to go pick up a set of used Run Flat Tires for his car. The owner promptly greeted us and was very receptive to getting us taken care of rapidly as he knew we had driven from Huntington Beach. We showed him the Facebook messages about his shops tire offering and he notified us that there was an error in the listing that his salesperson listed. However, he said he'd honor the promises of his salesperson 100%. This shows not only the moral character of the man, but that he truly cares about his business. This is what impressed me to write this review. His staff doubled up on the tire installation and then a mechanic performed the alignment all while we waited. They were fast, courteous, professional and their workmanship was excellent. Eventhough this was nearly a 5 hour round trip, it was completely worth it. Keep up the great work!!! read more

Took my car here so they could figure out why my car was overheating on long free-way drives. Mind you, it only overheated on long, long drives on the freeway. I'm talking about Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Other than that, it drove fine. Long story short, they removed the radiator cap to inspect my car and never put it back on! They said I've got a cracked head casket, gave me my car back, but never replaced the radiator cap! Needless to day, my coolant splashed all over the outer engine as I drove it home, and then it started overheating in normal traffic. When I got out to check under the hood, I found the radiator cap wedged between the car and the license plate! Obviously they stuffed it there when they did their inspection. I called them on the phone, but they denied it. How else would the radiator cap get there? I refilled it with my own coolant, but now the car overheats instantly when I drive it. Before I brought it in, it would only overheat on long drives, but I could still take it to work, go shopping, do whatever. I just couldn't drive 200 miles at a time. Now my car is undriveable! Literally since getting it back from these guys, it overheats within 2 minutes of driving it. I don't know what they did. All I know is I wish I never brought my car here. read more

These guys are really honest. I had my brakes done and they didn't over charge me and finished fast too. Another time I had my car towed there because it wouldn't start. I found out it was because it's an older hybrid and I left it sitting without starting it for over a week and it went into lockout mode. The guys got it started for me and didn't even change me. The workers here are honest and know the basics and their limits of automotive repair knowledge. Sometimes though the blasé attitude towards a lack of knowledge or lack of tools to complete a job, can be inconvenient. I still take my car to do the oil change here and any small tune up but I get my major automotive work done elsewhere. Reasonable prices all around and good work. read more

I am so grateful for these guys! I called this morning and they took me in right away. The gentleman checked my car right away and was confused as to why I was concerned about my brakes. He showed them to me and said they look great. I was only checking because Firestone told me I urgently need them replaced. I was comforted by the honesty of these employees. Then I asked him to check my engine light and he let me know my Oxy Sensor was the cause. They took care of it in less than two hours for a very reasonable rate. This is my go to mechanic. They are honest. They offer a solution even if it means that you have to take it to another place if it's outside of their limits, whether it's a price thing or a mechanics thing. That is a rare thing in the mechanics business since most mechanics want to maximize profits. Sometimes I take my vehicle to the dealer just to find out what is wrong with my car. My car has been having problems and so I took it to them to get and alternator and they wanted me to get a new battery on my own. Well now fast forward and the alternator is faulty maybe 2 months later..... I am back same issue but worse this time. Every time I have taken it to them I have had to take it back down there again..... I don't think they know what they are doing and it's honestly the worst. They did remedy the situation and replace it but had the 6 month warranty been void I would have had to shell out more $ which is ridiculous. Looking for another place to go now. read more

My truck's parking brake started acting up the morning I was heading back to Northern California. I quickly looked for a shop that was open on Saturday and called Padilla's. They were so nice about my predicament and had me bring the truck in even though the shop was booked for the day. They inspected my brakes, adjusted the brake cable, and even installed an unrelated part (I had been meaning to install) in a couple of hours. They gave me the peace of mind to make my journey home. Really nice people and really fair pricing. Some shops would have gouged a traveler in distress but these guys didn't. read more

DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR!!!!! Just so we're clear, I've been a customer of Padilla brakes for years. They've done most of my minor maintenance as well as changing shocks and some front end work. So here's the thing.. My truck although having 140 thousand miles, went from running great to running rough overnight. I take it to Padilla thinking maybe I had a fouled spark plug or bad spark plug wire. I leave it and get a call the next day. Some how my engine is "burnt out" due to "over heating" Now my truck did over heat.. 3 YEARS AGO!. I asked if the engine is "burnt out" then why is it not smoking or leaking? They said it was just "fried" They offered to check the heads for 900.00, but recommended a total engine replacement for 1700.00!!! WTF?? So i said no thanks and picked it up and got a second opinion. Turns out all it was was a sensor which I replaced myself for 116.00 including tax. Please please please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Either they are thieving SOB's or are stupid as hell. I think it's a lot of both. read more

Unfortunately there is no way to give worse than 1 star. We took our 2002 Chevy impala in because our usual mechanic was busy. The car was running rough, check engine light on. They tell us it's the fuel injection. They "fix" it, $200 and it works for a day and then same problem so we take it back. Then 2 days later we are told it's the head gasket and they can fix it for another $1500. I decide to bring it home and call my mechanic who tells me that anyone who works on cars should know that this model is known for the intake going bad. $380 and my car is fixed but that's not all....my mechanic shows me the fuel injector that they "supposedly" replaced, he says either it was a bad remanufactured injector or mine was just cleaned up and spray painted, it was definitely not new. Do yourself a favor and do not trust this place! read more

There are new owners at Padilla's and the work they did on my car was top notch and fairly priced. I needed front and rear brakes for my SUV as well as four new tires. Dropped it off at 9am, got a call at 9:30 with the estimate - $240 for the brakes and $850 for all four tires (18" big name brand ones) and alignment. Car was ready to drive away at 12:30pm. I found this place and I am so glad i did. I had taken my vehicle to the dealership and was told it needs a transmission and other work. I was charge 100 and some for an oil change at the dealer. I than got other quotes and ended up here looking for another quote. They asked me to leave it. I explained to them that I had another mechanic working on it besides the dealership. They thanked me for filling them in and asked if they can keep my car to inspect it. They called me after 5 days with great news. My car did not need a new transmission. It cost me nowhere near what I expected. This was last year. Like I said I had a great experience. read more
