First time trying Welcome Inn and boy was it good! Ordered the chicken strip meal to go. The chicken strips were huge and all white meat. A little on the oily side, but it is fried food so I always keep that in mind. I'm going to be honest, not a huge fry person so I didn't even try them, but they did look good. Side salad was so fresh it looked like they had just peeled the cucumbers. The cole slaw was AMAZING. Great flavor. For the price and amount of food you can't beat it. Excited to go back and try some other dishes and support a local small business. I also thought that this would be a great stop once sports start up in the spring. Sometimes breakfast at noon is awesome. Their chicken fried steak is unmatched. I recommend this place entirely.

Sad when you clearly matter less because you're a party of one and not a regular. Fifteen bucks for corn beef hash, hash Browns, eggs and some biscuits and gravy. Nothing was remotely pleasing except some nice notes in the gravy. Everything needed seasoning. No personality from the server, not even a greeting. Never checked on me once after bringing the food. Host came and asked if I was done with my plate when I was getting ready to stand up. Empty water glass just sitting there... The cute name and slightly kitschy outside look made me think it might have some charm. Don't bother. read more

The Best fried tenderloin sandwich I have ever had, and I have tried a lot of them in the QCA. This one is the best. Service is good, nice little salad bar. Potato salad is delicious from the salad bar. Nice clean family atmosphere. Booths are large and comfortable. Did I say the tenderloin sandwich was great? Try the chicken fingers, delicious, big, juicy. Love their breading. Large portions, we always get a box for leftovers, enough for another meal. French fries are also outstanding! Small town local restaurant. Smelled and looked old when I walked in the door, but when I was seated, I noticed that the blinds, table tops and drop ceiling were newer-looking. My server Kim was great, offering me a drink special, the Strawberita (sp?) which I naturally thought was some kind of strawberry margarita, but was actually made with bud light lime, LOL! I thought, WTH, and I actually liked it. My food was good, but scalding hot both the appetizer and sandwich, and sadly the roof of my mouth is blistered because I was painfully hungry and I honestly could not wait to eat. My own damn fault. The fried pickles were great, but at a dollar a spear for six spears? *sigh* Yes, yes, I'd pay it again. See my note and pic about the dessert case. The salad bar looked kind of pointless to me. Oh and my sandwich was supposed to come with soup. I was nearly done with my sandwich and getting full when I realized I had no soup. I have eaten there twice, and the only reason I went the second time was, I thought you could not ruin breakfast. Boy was I wrong. The food is horrible. Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had in my 67 years of living. No worries though I will never go back and I will never recommend anyone eat at the slop shop. read more

October 16th, my husband and I and a couple of friends ate at this restaurant and ordered off the Senior menu. We were charged for the full price. Overcharged $22.00. Unfortunately, didn't realize till we got home. Went back the next day, with the credit card receipt and the owner refused to make it right. Kept saying, where is your receipt, the credit card receipt was all they gave us and it didn't have the item's name on it. We will not go there again. Unfortunately, we enjoy their food, but there is other place's to eat in QCA. I recommend to check your bill carefully, even take a picture of it. read more

Stopped here in a whim with my mother for lunch-- not a bad place at all! The entrance was dark and foreboding but we were warmly greeted and seated in the well lit dining area. The waitress was quick to take and bring our drink orders. Decent sized menu with prices comparable to other restaurants. I was surprised that most meals came with the salad bar, which was small but adequate. The gyro was average but decent, as well as my mother's patty melt. We don't go to Milan ever so we probably won't eat there again, but if we lived closer, we would eat there. read more

This has become a weekly favorite of ours for breakfast! Absolutely love the cinnamon french toast. You can also buy the bread used by the loaf at the store or online! Craving this awesome french toast in the evening? No problem. They serve breakfast all day. Picky about how your eggs are cooked and often find problems with your eggs not being made to your specifications? That describes me. I went to Welcome Inn in Milan, Il today for lunch. This was my first visit. It will also be my last. To say the least, I will not be going back. I paid 30.71 for food that I'm sure was made in a microwave. The gravy was from a can, no taste whatsoever and salt and pepper didn't help it. I was charged $6 for onion rings which I got 15. That's .40 cents per onion ring. Completely over priced for less than mediocre food. I will not be returning to there or will I be recommending it to anyone else. read more

We were disappointed that we were unable to order a Reuben sandwich and share it. I would have been happy to pay extra to share but that was not an option. We went down the road to another restaurant and ordered and shared a Reuben sandwich and did not pay extra to share it. Think Welcome Inn would be smart to change their policy. read more

We have been to the restaurant before but this will be our last time. We came to try their corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's day. My husband gets it every year, and this year I decided I would try it and we'd try it somewhere new. So, we decided we'd come to Welcome Inn. It was $14.99 for one corned beef and cabbage meal, so we thought we'd share the meal (I wasn't sure if I would like it or not-I hadn't had it before). The waitress told us we couldn't share the meal unless I paid for an additional salad bar (the meal came with the salad bar for one). So, that's what we did and we shared the corned beef and cabbage. Come to find out the additional salad bar was $8.50, so I basically paid for an additional meal without getting an additional meal. When I went to go pay, the owner rang me out. After reviewing the receipt she asked if we only got one corned beef and cabbage. I said yes that we shared it, but I paid for an additional salad bar. She mumbled that she thought she saw me eating corned beef and cabbage like I was lying! She was unfriendly from that point on while I was paying. We won't be back. It's obvious to me that this establishment is more concerned about money than the customer. This is the first restaurant we've been to that has had such strict guidelines on sharing a meal. read more
