Since eating at Pagano's I started watching the Sopranos again and acting like I am Italian. This place is amazing! I would order a cold cut every other weekend for 3 months straight as I was only here for that duration for work. To be honest, I have no complaints. Every sub I had was amazing, from their Italian, chicken cutlet to their fish sandwich for lent. They also have a nice variety of cooked pastas, meatballs, sauces etc. I was never able to walk out of there without picking up a few things from the market. They also have great tomato pie! Randomly wondered into this place when I was in the area, and I'm sure glad I did. I ordered the Italian Diablo, and it was one of, if not the best hoagie, I've ever had. The roll was a perfect balance between hard and soft, and they even scoop out some of the breading so they can load up the hoagie with meat. The hoagie itself was packed with soppressata, ham and cheese. Took a bit long to make since I was there during lunch, so I recommend ordering ahead. Will definitely be back. Pagano's has some yummy things that are hard to find out in the burbs - namely DiBruno Bros cheese! I got a large container of parmesan romano "sprinkle cheese" as I call it, for 9 bucks. The sandwiches are great but not cheap - they are on par with getting something from an Italian eatery in the city. They have fresh bread and prepared Italian foods as well as a good selection of pepperoni and other meaty goodies. And pasta of course! Fresh, frozen and bagged. Lunchtime on the weekend can get crazy and you have to wait in line. Parking stinks -- getting in and out is a pain. You have to park in the back usually. read more

Great spot! I've tried their hot foods and sandwiches, always delicious. A little pricey but it's totally worth it. All the employees are more than helpful. Always attentive and acknowledge all customers as they walk in. They have the beat customer service in the area. I always recommend paganos to friends or anyone new to the area. Parking is a little weird and not much of it. But people are usually in and out pretty quickly. Whoever is contemplating trying it, go for it! You will not be disappointed. This place is great. It is hands down my favorite Italian sandwich shop. I have never had a bad sandwich from there. My fave is the 49th Street Special which is an Italian hoagie with all the Italian meats. I love that it is conveniently located in the suburbs so I don't have to go into the city for a good sandwich. I especially like that it is down the street from me. Their service is great and they are very friendly. They tend to get really busy during the lunch hour. There's plenty of parking out back if you don't see anything in the front. They are closed on Mondays and on Sundays they close at 2 pm. During the week they close at 6 and I sometimes wish they were open a little later. read more

If you live in or around Havertown, Drexel Hill, or Springfield (of if you travel Route 1 (Township Line) in Delaware County) you have to make this place a preferred destination. This place has absolutely perfect sandwiches and all the old fashioned italian side dishes that can be found at most South Philly sandwich shops. The meats & cheeses are authentic and are perfect in every way. The chicken cutlet is prepared fresh daily and is melt in your mouth good. The only downfall to this place is their hours of operation and sometimes they run out of bread before dinner time. I recommend ordering early on weekends so you can guarantee yourself a seeded roll. You can always pick up early and save the sandwich for later. My personal favorite is the 49th Street Italian...with extra sharp provolone and razor thin prosciutto. Pagano's is in a class of its own when it comes quality. I can't get enough of that aroma when you first walk in the door! I've sampled many items over the years and everything is always fresh and delicious. My personal favorite happens to be the chicken cutlet club! The staff is always super friendly and keeps the lines moving. This place is quite small and tends to get very crowded during lunch time. Parking can be tricky so I advise parking in the shopping center next door. Pagano's is always a great place to grab lunch when on the go. I had moved out of the area 2 years ago and returned back here to get the cannoli tray for a party and it was just not the same, the cannolis were soft and seemed old and did not have the crunchy style from the past, they must have cut back on the quality from the past, the cream was also not the same taste from what I remember. I was told from a very good friend that their "Tomato Pie" was out of this world! I never found out because two times in a row I've called this place to order a pie only to be denied because they said they had too many orders. I understand the first time I asked because it was only a couple of days before my son's birthday. The second time I called almost TWO WEEKS in advance, I was turned down again and very RUDELY too! The craziest thing was I only wanted to order ONE PIE!! Their reason was that they only had one oven. Best, most inventive sandwiches ever! I especially love the Turkey Cordon Bleu and Turkey Club. They're somewhat expensive (compared to your average hoagie shop, anyway) and closed on Mondays (bummer), but otherwise SO worth. Plus, it's an Italian market, so you can get all your other favorite Italian eateries while you're there! It's deceptively average looking from the outside but a real gem. I visited Pagano's this afternoon because I was really craving a good Italian hoagie. I ordered the Italian Hoagie Pagano and it was delicious. The Italian meats and the brocolli rabe was very fresh and the sharp provolone was amazing. Not to mention the hoagie was HUGE and that was a big plus in my book. I had to save the second half of the hoagie for dinner. You get quality and quantity for a price of $7.79 which was well worth it. The store is well stocked with Italian goods, deli meats, fresh prepared food (the best chicken cutlets ever) and a nice selection of artisan bread. When u walk into Paganos, the incredible smell of homemade italian food will overwhelm you! Everything they make is delicious ! The catering is remarkable we used them for our daughters birthday party a few years ago & everyone raved about the food, this is why we will be using them again next week for our oldest daughters graduation party. Going from living in South Philly to Delco which is like a culinary desert to me. This place reminds me of my old neighborhood with the delicious Italian specialty items they offer. This is followed by wonderful staff members who, regardless of how busy they are (and they are always busy), take the time to say hello and often walk your order to the register for you. This place is right down the street from my parents house and therefore has been a staple for weekend lunches for a long time. They have wonderful sandwiches.
