Excellent little Italian shop! Hoagie was fantastic and the staff was super friendly. Plenty of great eats in this place.

Some one put Di Scala's on my radar quite some time ago and I was finally in the area so I sought them out. Nice large store/deli located just south of Chester. Lots of refrigerated pre made foods to choose from but I was there for a hoagie. I decided on corned beef but only saw it as a sandwich special. The lady helping me said she could put it on a roll instead. I got what would be considered a "half" and my sandwich was very good. The roll was perfection and the igredients were fresh but the meat was cut just a little to thick for my personal preference. The price was definitely right as well. Highly recommended.

Had never tried this place before, so I stopped and picked up a chicken cutlet sandwich for my husband last week. It was topped with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe and hot peppers. I didn't get the chance to try it myself or get a picture cause he ate the whole thing. It's not a big place but they have a bunch of stuff to offer... lots of yummy looking Italian stuff. I will be going back for sure.

We came in for chicken cutlets because our regular place doesn't do hot sandwiches on Sundays. I've had this place bookmarked for a while to try and it did not disappoint. My husband got the chicken parm sandwich and I got the cutlet sandwich with mozz and broccoli rabe. Both were really good and inside the deli is really authentic. I was making so many mental notes to come back to do some ingredient shopping. We will be back!

Great deli right off 95. I ordered the chicken cutlet supreme. Was amazing. Also grabbed 2 tomato pies for home. The kids quickly ate them. Worth stopping in for lunch off 95.

The sandwich isn't small, the olive oil is just that BIG!

Wow! This Italian hoagie was so good I was smiling (like a dope) while eating, and for a while afterward. Each and every ingredient was TOP Italian quality. Crazy-sharp provolone, prosciutto like none other, capicola that belongs in a museum, roasted peppers that could have been a dish on their own, and crusty fresh bread straight from an pro's oven! Holey moley this was good! We went in to buy some olive oil because we ran out of the specialty stuff we bought at Carlino's, and we hoped this place would have something comparable. We found a good imported olive oil there, and could not resist trying the food. I have a whole list of good hoagie spots, but you gotta find an Italian place to get a good Italian one. Supposedly Primo's is known for Italians... we (RELUCTANTLY) tried Primo's ONCE. It was crap. If we had known this place existed, and what we could buy with our money instead, we would never have set foot in an icky Primo's. DiScala's is probably the BEST Italian hoagie my husband and I have ever had. (And my husband works near S. Philly, so he is shown the host of top Ital hoagies on offer in this area.) We cannot say enough great things about the extremely high quality of this food. We had to wait in line (for a while) to get this sandwich, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Phenomenal! Phenomenal! Phenomenal!

Everybody should go to this place and experience it.. 5 Yumms...!!!! Family owned. This is one of them restaurants. I passed 1 million times. The restaurant has a charming and casual vibe. Both gentlemen tending the floor are from Italy, adding an air of authenticity. You can choose to sit outdoors -- I really like the way the patio is arranged --or in the cozy dining room. Once seated, you're brought a plate of roasted peppers and a basket of hard rolls. I sprinkled olive oil and grated salt on the plate, which proved a good idea with the peppers and rolls. There were a number of appetizer specials, but we went with a basic Caesar salad. One order, pre-apportioned in the kitchen, was perfect for the two of us. I ordered branzino as an entree T, linguini Pescatore. The whole fish is brought out and fileted tableside. While I took a photo, it was just one unflattering shot of the head (which I'm not posting.) The branzino was mild and flakey, good, though the seasoning didn't break through the skin rendering it a little bland. Excellent grilled potatoes and vegetables completed my dinner. My husband's linguini was delish; while the pasta isn't made in house, it tasted like it could be, served al dente, of course. The tomato sauce was spicy enough to bring the dish over the top. Portobello is byob. (Another Yelper mentioned an $8 corkage fee, but unless they forgot to charge us, they disbanded the policy.) After our meal, with takeout box packed -- there was a lot of fish -- we were offered amaretto as a digestif. A nice touch! The restaurant isn't all that convenient to where we live but we enjoyed dinner enough to warrant a repeat visit. Next time I'll try something Italian. Or maybe salmon, which looked pretty good. Reservations suggested, particularly on weekends.
