When I'm on a trip, I always gravitate to these type of art galleries, as I know I'll find unique and well curated items at a fair price. Plus there's a good chance that I'll be talking to at least one of the artist owners during my visit. During my recent stop in, I purchased a very striking small basket and a hand made "gratitude" book from 2 different artists, both of whom were right there on that day. So I really knew what I was buying. And for the pieces I admired and didn't buy, I received great background information as the artists minding the store knew them personally. I was very happy with my purchases and enjoyed my visit thoroughly. I only wish I could have found the time to come back again before my recent visit to Maui was over.

We had lots of laughs looking at their line of "dirty" socks, oven mitts, and tea towels, but I can't post pics of most of them here. My wife found a great pair of tie-dyed workout leggings for $26, amongst other gifts and novelties that we picked up. The owner and the ladies that work here were all very friendly and nice to us. He has an extensive collection of autographed photos of celebrities that adorn the walls. I enjoyed talking to him about them. Willie Nelson is one of his best friends, and has even written a song about this place, which they played for me on request.

So the next day (Tuesday 8/11/26 at about 2:15pm) we went down to exchange the item and the guy behind the counter was rude and said he would not exchange it and said "you broke it!!!" He also said "you don't have to shop here" what a jerk and very unaloha for someone who works in a shop, in a local location! No aloha spirit! In fact quite the opposite. I remember picking up a dress and debating "do I want to try this on..." and right away, one of the gals came over and asked if she could start me a fitting room. It didn't feel like a salesperson pouncing on a sale. It felt almost like a slumber party atmosphere! The original sales gal and 2 other workers were now involved and they made it so fun! Once I got in the fitting room, it felt like a fashion show. But instead of everyone telling me "everything looks great/cute" (toxic positivity), they were using their expert language and asking ME how I felt or what I thought. I really appreciated that! They grabbed me other sizes and showed me other versions of outfits (wide leg pants vs. oversized button down vs. shirt dress). I actually wore one of the shirt dresses out! As I was checking out, I noticed another part of the store. I completely walked right past it! And that was their jewelry side! I fell in love with 2 necklaces on that side! By this time, the owner had come out and it was a full blown party. I recently lost my mom - out of habit, I went to call her to ask which of the 2 necklaces she loved best. I had to use the gals at the store to be my stand-in-mom-energy, and I ended up treating myself to both! Now those pieces were expensive (both 14k!) but I wear them every single day. They remind me of my trip to Maui
