I was excited to remember I had heard a local boutique had a hat bar. I needed a few more patches to complete a hat I was working on and didn't want to order multiple of the same from Amazon. I went into the boutique today at about 4pm and a young girl with curly hair came out from the back a few seconds after I entered. I said I just want to look for a few patches(I looked and didn't see prices for individual patches) I asked what are the prices for the patches? She goes ummm I don't know.. You know this is going to not be a pleasant shopping experience when the employee (who is being paid to work there)already has no clue. She casually goes ummm I think $5 ?? I said oh for all the patches no matter the size? She goes ummm I don't know? I say is someone here who knows??? She then says I will text and find out. She apparently gets an answer and says medium are $5 and large are $10. I have a softball I would say about 2in in size in my hand and ask her so what would this be? She goes I would say $10. Never in my right mind would I pay for a patch that size for $10! I go to pop up events on occasion and they always have hat bars and I have never been charged more than 2-5$ per patch. Yes I was willing to even pay a tad more because it's a "boutique " and small business. My problem apart from the price is the literal lack of knowledgeable from the employee. This is your job! And she literally had no clue! She ruined the experience. Would I have had a pleasant experience I would have had a local shop I could just pop into to grab my patches when I needed, but now never stepping foot in the store again nor recommending it. That employee costs you customers and I would have her gone before I would think twice about giving her another paycheck. read more

Paige James Boutique is right by where I work, and my mentor had actually gotten me a gift cerificate so I swung by last week for a quick glance and picked up a cute "Aztec" sweater cardigan. The sales clerk was extremely attentive albeit I was limited on time. This week, my friend's permanent bracelet fell off. I suggested to her that we stop by PJB because I had seen a permanent jewelry station that was, get this, PERMANENTLY stationed in the corner of her store. I reached out to a prompt response offering videos of her current selection of chains and solidified an appointment (not neccessary but I'm a planner!) and when we stopped by today, we were both equally enthralled by Whitney's talent and selection of chains to choose from. The pricing is also extremely reasonable (1/$60,2/$100, etc.) I also feel more confident in my purchases because I know her store is available had anything ever happened to my jewelry in the future. I say this because many welders are at pop up events (holidays, breweries, markets, etc.) and it is hard to follow up if something goes awry with your pieces. PJB is a good, reliable place especially since I asked her to take my old faded charm off and to weld on a new one, making me older permanent bracelet from elsewhere look much more lively. She was also able to reweld and fix my friend's broken chain. So, all in all, consider this your one stop shop for all things permanent jewelry, fixes and new pieces! The store itself is also cute and offers a great selection that impressed me with its inclusivity in sizes--never had I ever spotted a size 31 or 32 at other leading boutiques such as Stitch and Feather or No Rest For Bridget. That made my curvy girl body feel very welcomed. I'm appreciative of Whitney's guidance in picking the pieces or suggested chain lengths, and I will definitely return for gifting others! read more
