The store manager [don't know her name we will refer to her as DEI] is MOST DEFINITELY a DEI hire…read moreshe knows nothing about customer service or how to handle customer SATISFACTION situation. She has that I am a "BIG SHOT" attitude that I saw when she first walked up to me. This job has her so far up from everyone else it literally STINKS like her. I knew at that point I was going to get no satisfaction. The DEI hire [don't know her name so we will just call her DEI] has a job that she has no business being there. I have a BRAND NEW mower with 9 hours that has been sitting there for 31 days and no parts have yet been ordered for it. The technician does not know that much about mowers I can tell being a Journeyman mechanic for 34 years as he tried to shoot some bull at me about the problem and I told him I am not you normal uneducated person. He is trying to tell me the forward and reverse arms are worn out from using them to get on & off the tractor. REALLY !!!! worn out with 9 hours on it? I asked him DO YOU BELIEVE THAT STORY and he stated that is what he is told. Talked to 5 other facilities that repair these mowers and one technician started LAUGHING. I ask him so the mower has been sitting in your store for months or days and the fault could have occured right in your store but you are blaming me. The technician has NO IDEA or even HOW to fix this MADE UP bull%$#@ problem he invented because he does not really know what is wrong. The first time it was explained to me it was rubbing on the frame then it got moved to being my fault for using the arms to pull up on the tractor [which I never did] it was something he made up because he does not know why the right side of the mower moves slower on the right than left side. When DEI [manager] took me to the back to talk about it and this technician came up with the fairy tale pulling on the arm bull%$#@ I told him I have been working on cars for over 55 years he will have to do better than that. It was at this point DEI jumped in and started acting like a 3rd grader swinging her POSITION around. I stated to her if I was the owner I would FIRE you at that point she told me to get out of the store. There was a big hulk like thing in the back and her came up to me got in my face like he was going to throw me out. I told him you lay one hand on me and I will own every mower in this store. So I left 15 minutes later I get a call from a police officer wanting to get my approval to repair the mower. REALLY what does a police office have to do with getting my mower fixed that has been there for almost 40 days. They had the approval or I would have never called them to come and get it to fix it. IF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE AN APPROVAL?? and why does a police officer have to get involve? THIS IS HOW STUPID THIS SOUNDS YOU BUY A BRAND NEW CAR FROM A DEALER TAKE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK BUT THEY HAVE A COP CALL YOU TO GET YOUR APPROVAL FOR A REPAIR THEY NEED NO APPROVAL FOR THE OWNER FOR AS LONG AS IT IS UNDER WARRANTY Taking the mower to another shop so they can PROPERLY DIAGNOSE the problem and where there will be a technician who knows about mowers and can repair them

I'm not usually one to complain, but I had a job interview here and it was the most unprofessional…read moreexperience I've ever had. I was called three times by someone named Morgan but she couldn't ever leave a voicemail so it was constant phone tag to even set up a phone interview. Anyway when I showed up to the interview I have a guy's name, but I'm a woman. When I showed up, the interviewer immediately said, "Sorry, you weren't what I expected," and flat-out told me she had been expecting a man. She then went on to say that I probably wouldn't even be considered for the position I applied for, but we could "talk about a different position" instead. On top of that, she made horrible eye contact throughout the entire interview. Honestly, thanks for wasting my time--this could have been cleared up over the phone if I wasn't qualified or wasn't going to be given a fair chance. Offering $15 an hour is already a joke for a college student, but now I'm left wondering: I guess a kinesiology student isn't qualified to work in the shoe department, or maybe she just only hires men.‍ She didn't even walk me out from the back room. Most awkward interview ever. Regardless, I would have liked to be given a fair interview before it was decided I wasn't qualified within in the first 2 seconds of meeting. Thanks Faye this experience really rubbed me wrong and made me feel pretty lousy. I won't be back at this Dick's Again needless to say. Shop at the Edwardsville one.

I grew up and started running in Peoria, IL where I used to support the local shop Running Central…read more I recently moved to this area and wanted to find a local spot to get a pair of Hokas, so I stopped in one afternoon. The shop is very small but packed with things. I was immediately unimpressed because I wasn't greeted well. I was the only customer there and the two people at the counter said nothing, just looked at me. I'm going to guess they are college students, one male and one female. I walked up to the counter and let them know I wanted to check out Hoka. I really felt like neither of them really wanted to help me and the male moved and took me to the back. I explained that I usually wear New Balance 860's and wanted to check out a cushioned pair of Hoka's, hopefully more of a stability shoe. He asked me my size and went in back. A blonde woman came back out with him and I explained to her my request as well, and she was very helpful, explaining the models they had available and offering a men's version since I have a wide foot. I tried on three models and settled on a men's Gaviota. The whole time they just kind of stood there looking at me. I gave three stars because I did find a shoe but I felt a little unwelcome since everyone was very blah. Usually these local running shops get personal, smile, ask what activities I do, talk about fit, feel the fit on my toes, etc. It was just really weird and I might as well have just spent $150 with my REI membership.

Rumors has it that pretty soon a massive glowing ball in the sky will appear and heat will start…read moreradiating downwards from the sky making things green again. In preparation for this spectacular event this Ninja decided to pay a visit to the local sports store to gather the tools needed for some much needed outdoor activity. I just happen to be a frugal Ninja (do not mistake for fruit) and I paid Play it Again Sports a visit. The store is like a rummage sale for used sports items and they also carry new and near new items here. There is a large selection you can choose from and a lot of it were sold, or traded in exchange for credit or cash. Those sports items your kids have outgrown or you yourself have outgrown or do not use anymore, you can bring them in to Play it Again Sports and you can take the cash and purchase a six pack for that new sport you're playing with the solo cups and ping pong ball which by the way you can find here as well. As soon as you walk in the door it's like walking into a sweaty smelly boys lockers room. The folks that worked there were quick to ask me if I needed help. Really!? Ninja's don't need help. Thanks anyway.. I did not want to attract suspicion so I played dumb and asked for some assistance. The two gentlemen working the store looked like the typical jocks who work out twice a day and probably lettered in every sport in high school. There you have it ladies, if you were wondering whatever happened to that cute jock you wished you dated back in high school you can find them here working at Play it Again Sports. I do give them credit for being courteous and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I did not find what I was looking for today but this store is like that. It's hit or miss because you'll never know what people are bringing in to get rid of or to trade. In the past I have used Play it Again Sports because this Ninja is very active and I am always getting rid of stuff. I also get bored easily... Ninja's have ADHD it's a known fact. I like the concept because one man's junk is another man's treasure. I was slightly disappointed at this store having visited other stores. It was cluttered and it smelled. The two guys working that day were great with their customer service but the owner needs to find a way to clean the clutter and make the store more women friendly. That boy's locker room smell will not cut it. The owner has to realize that women and mother's in particular are always shopping for their kids. Kids outgrow their sports equipment fast and or just plain get tired and pick up new sports. Play it Again is catered more to Mom's and the owner has to realize that. Anyway, it's late and this Ninja is tired! I give this Play it Again Sports location 2* Ninja stars with an (*) and I will be visiting frequently so I look forward to changing it to a higher rating. I hate giving such low reviews because this Ninja knows how hard it is in today's age to operate a small business' I don't foresee this place being a 2 star too long because if the owner is smart he will take heed of this Ninja's review because Ninja's know what's good for you. Ugh! I'm going to bed...
