It wasn't anything extraordinary but I enjoyed having a comfy place to work and not having to worry about paying for parking or moving my car. I've recently tried a couple coffee shops in Portland that just left me disappointed and was surprised to find such a great cafe workspace in Salem and something I wish Portland had! To say Opening Day was a hit is an understatement! We had a group of seven and the line was out the door for a while. The owner came out several times thanking everyone for their patience. Before long there were open tables and several sat down to reserve a space while others held the line to place our orders. The decor gives a fun anime vibe, with music complimenting the theme. They nailed it with a mini Godzilla and Bonsai centerpiece on the large main table. Menu options were diverse enough to satisfy all of us; from the Teriyaki Chicken Kaiju Bowl, Tuna Poke Bowl, Spicy Salmon Onigiri, to the Iced Ube Matcha, Milk Tea Boba, Sapporo Japanese Lager, and even a N/A Asahi 0.0 Lager. It was definitely worth the wait after just missing the food carts at the market and a stroll through the blooms and festivities at the State Capitol Park. The mini donuts were just the right amount of sweet, although I took tiny bites to make them go farther. That chocolate-frosted one was more frosting than donut but it sure was tasty! Normally parking is readily available but today is the Silverton Pet Parade and the parking lot was full. When I got to the counter, the man taking orders walked away - without a word to me - and went about taking care of some kind of business or other but never acknowledged my presence. Eventually, a young woman just arriving to work logged in on the same computer used for order-taking and before even putting her things down, took my order. Now that's an employee to keep! There's plenty of seating inside and outside. Tables are clean and ready to be sat at! Go get a mini donut or two... along with a coffee drink.

You order at the counter and then you get a number to take with you and place at whichever seat you choose. Drinks and food both came out really quick. I tried the bees knees which had honey, lavender, rosemary and simple syrup with a dash of black pepper. I did not see nor taste the black pepper but I was a huge fan of this drink. It wasn't overpowering in any of the flavors and the rosemary sprig made it look so cute. I got the breakfast potato hash with no tomatoes and it was a delicious and filling breakfast. The potatoes were so good my group wouldn't stop helping themselves to them. I added some hot sauce as it was in the dryer side but still really good. I also tried the matcha coconut scone. It had a pretty matcha green color but it was hard to taste the matcha or coconut and it was quite dry. Service was quick and friendly. Food service can be rough, but when there's no one in line not giving someone at least 30 seconds to check out the menu is really frustrating. The coffee was pretty good, definitely worth going out for. I also really liked the peanut butter and jelly chia pudding. It was really filling and a perfect portion of protein/natural sugars before my workout. The seating area had a nice warmth to it on a sunny afternoon. The outdoor seating looked welcoming too.
