TLDR: The guy thought he was doing us a favor since the job was so small. He thought he could knock it off on the way home and make a quick buck. Then he got pissed when we didn't commit. This review is based solely on the consultation visit, not on any work performed. James came by to look at a wall in our home that needed painting. Prior to the visit, I explained the scope of the job during our call and emphasized that it was best assessed in person, as I had already received a quote from another company over the phone which seemed expensive for a simple job. At the end of the consultation, he pushed for us to agree to and commit to the job on the spot. When we said we weren't ready yet, he stated that he wouldn't prepare a quote for us if we were "just going to sit on it." We explained that we wanted one more company to come out and evaluate the work before making a decision. He appeared offended by this and responded, "I thought you already told me someone quoted you?" I clarified that the quote I had received was over the phone, not from an in-person visit like his. He then went on to brag about having serviced many homes in the area and said we would "definitely be calling him." I don't appreciate sales tactics like this. read more

After 1 week, I emailed them to ask for a quote (thinking that maybe they forgot) and never received a reply. It's been more than 2 weeks since the visit and nobody contacted me. It doesn't take much to send and email and let a customer know they cannot or don't want to take their job. We hired Jon and his team to paint our one bedroom condo. Let me start off by saying, after day 2 of painting, it was a complete and utter disaster. Without going too much into the details, basically what happened was a guy that was just hired with Paint Green messed up big time. Paint where it shouldn't have been, wrong walls painted, didn't bother taping borders, roller blinds painted on, cheetohs on the floor (lol). It was just BAD. As first time homeowners, I was really just distraught by the whole thing. Long story short, he lied to Jon saying he had experience when clearly he did not. I wish Jon had vetted him better but hey, things happen and lessons were learned on both ends but what's important is Jon took care of us after the mishap and insured everything would be ok. Mistakes happen and I get it. It's what comes after that, that defines a business. Jon ended up bringing it one of his veteran guys (huge shout out to Robert!) to fix and finish the job. I'm a Creative Director and Photographer with a background in design so details are my thing. Robert's attention to detail was so spot on that I knew I could trust him to complete the job as perfect as possible, which is impossible when it comes to painting... but the end result was nearly perfect. Robert did such a great job that we decided to continue with Paint Green to paint our kitchen cabinets. We went from dark brown cabinets to white and blue for the island (see photos, it came out SO good). If you don't have experience with painting cabinets, it's a really long and detailed process especially if you live in a condo where work space is limited. It involves multiple coats of priming and painting with a spray gun that spits paint everywhere so you literally need to cover your place in so much plastic that it looks like a contamination area (see photos). You also need time for them to dry so expect a weeks long process depending on how many cabinet doors you have. They did a great job closing off the workspace so that the smell didn't affect us or my dogs. Robert's craftsmanship is so good that our cabinets look like the original color, as if they had not be painted over. Robert was always punctual and on time which helped keep the routine as normal as possible. I 1000% would use Jon and his team again and would/have recommend him to all my friends and family. I hired PaintGreen (now Peek Brothers/PaintGreen) to paint the trim and fascia on my Clairemont home based on the work they did for me in 2012 and faded from sun exposure. James came out to give me an estimate, Lisa helped me set the schedule, and Eric and Jorge did the actual brushwork. All in all, I am very pleased with the results. There was some termite damage from years ago which Eric and Jorge patched and painted, and some bare flashing and some accent trim along the gutters and chimney that were not part of the estimate but which they did anyway. I did not ask them to powerwash the house but it was pretty dusty and cobwebby and they did that as well. The colors were matched perfectly, including a custom color that they had matched at Sherwin Williams and labeled "Rick Brown." The entire job took about three and a half days, in contrast to my neighbors who went for the cheapest available painters done in one day (and apparently didn't bother to use primer). If you want quality painting done, just phone these guys and let 'em do what they do. read more

Peek Brothers Paint Green Painting was amazing from start to finish! James spent an hour and a half to give us an estimate on a leak in our bathroom condo from the toilet wax ring above our unit. He walked us through all of the restoration, drywall, mudding and painting process. He was very detail oriented and extremely professional. We also asked for an estimate to paint just a few walls in the condo that had wear and tear. No pressure to do the whole house and James agreed that the bedroom and family room did not need painting! These folks do an amazing job. Professional. Clean. Courteous. Prompt. FAST. Have you ever had a home improvement contractor get a job done QUICKER than promised? Well, now I have. We had a fairly good size repainting job done by Paint Green. Our join included paining accent walls in 4 rooms and a complete garage repaint. They masked everything very well and even put paper down on the hardwood floors where they were going to walk. They did some wall patching that also looks like the wall damage wasn't ever there. The foreman came through several times inspecting the work making sure the cut ins were done well enough - which they were. And they finished a day EARLY! This is the second time we have used ahem and will ONLY use Paint Green from now on. Great work - Paint Green! read more

The Project: Almost 70% of my interior walls needed repainting. Three walls were also painted in IdeaPaint Clear - turning them into dry erase walls. All the window sills were also painted and some minor wall damage was repaired (caulking, some dry wall screws removed, etc). Ryan came out to the house, helped us pick colors and got a good idea of what we wanted to do. A few hours later I had a very competitive quote in my email. Time line: The interior painting only took 3 days. The IdeaPaint Clear took extra time, as the walls had to be sanded smooth and re finished first. Another 1/2 day of painting was just for the IdeaPaint product. At 8 am promptly 3 smartly dressed painters (All in white, paint marked clothing) showed up and got to work. There was a clear forman, but they worked quickly and quietly the whole time. I barely heard the painters, the only disturbance was from moving the furniture - completely understandable. Around 4:30 they started to pick up and clean. Everything was moved out of the way -all the paint lived in my garage or stacked neatly on a piece of canvas. Every day they swept and cleared any trace of the day's work. What little paper and plastic covering they used was reused from day to day - unless it was torn or unusable (part of their commitment is executing in an environmentally conscious manor, and it was evident in the attention to detail shown by the painters.). Final Impressions: My walls looks great, the IdeaPaint looks amazing (I have to wait 2 weeks for the paint to "cure"). Not a single drop of paint is on my floor, carpet, or furniture. Their disturbance was minimal, and they even worked around my ridiculous Internet wiring. I will hire them again for my next painting project. read more

I cannot recommend Paint Green highly enough! I just purchased a short-sale condo and it was in complete disarray! The cathedral ceilings had popcorn that was not only outdated but dirty as could be! All of the walls were disgustingly dirty as were the baseboards. I met with Jon Ray to get an estimate and to go over color choices. We ended up with 5 different colors in addition to vertical striping on two walls. They apply different sheens to give it a subtle look. The outcome is stunning! I dropped by all but one of the four days to check on the progress. I was blown away just after day one! The crew, led by Julian, took great pride in their workmanship and it truly showed! They were meticulous throughout the entire process. Bill was the Project Manager and asked me to meet him on day three to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. It was on that day that I realized I had misinterpreted what Julian and I had discussed the day prior and because of that, he had to repaint the kitchen ceiling. Not for one second did he complain! I felt so badly because they were so close to completion and now they'd have to redo what had already been painted. He kept telling me "Don't worry about it - it's no big deal!" Jon and I met on Friday for the final walk through and I couldn't believe the transformation that had taken place! My condo is absolutely gorgeous now! It's hard to imagine that it took less than one week for Jon's team to turn a disaster into a masterpiece! They left my place 1000% better than they found it in and I will be forever grateful for the level of workmanship they delivered. I'm a former General Contractor, and used PaintGreen for an intricate exterior paint job on my home a few months ago. I am used to having to chase down sub-contractors who don't hold up their end of the deal. Paintgreen showed class from my first meeting with the owner/estimator, to the job super, to the staff (like Jose). Everything was done in a timely fashion, the job site was clean when they left. They even came back and did some considerable free painting, after some stucco applied by another contractor had to be worked on (I learned that they do stucco too - next time, I'll go with them). There were too many positive experiences with them to list, but I can't wait to buy a new home that needs paint. We have a craftsman house in Northpark that had paint peeling off all over exposing wood and a few spots of rot that needed repair. We called PaintGreen and it was a very quick and easy process...we even had a change of heart with our initial color choice and they rolled with it. They were always there on time when they said they would. The whole team did an excellent job not trampling our plants and at the end of the day you would have never known a work crew was ever there. One thing that tells me a lot about a craftsman is their attention to detail, the crew noticed and replaced some siding that was damaged or missing. We had some pillars rebuilt and included some stonework on those, we asked if they could clean and seal the stones, well they did that but they also sealed some other stone caps we had in the front yard without us asking. In the end there was a couple touch ups that were needed and they came out and took care of them right away. No hassle just excellent service.
