One side is the bar and counter while the other side host three pool tables. There's also a couple of hi top table in the middle. They did offer happy hour everyday from 4-8 pm with free pool. And free pool Tuesday Thursday and Sunday all day. Drinks specials offered as well. We only popped in for a drink which was glad to know that happy hour was happening. The bartender behind was sweet. It wasn't that busy when we walked in. Bartender and a couple people utilizing the pool table. It was pretty chill but I'm sure it can get busy later on in the evening. Drinks specials offered were quite nice for the price. We also tried their spicy margaritas which was great. Bartender knows his skills. Also, a quick round of pool. The vibe was mellow and chill. Don't know if the music changes often but it was somewhat metal that was going on when we walked in. Crowd was great as they were all there for the same reason. Drinks and pool. Progress felt like home and the owners made you feel like you were hanging out in someone's backyard bar. Besides seeing someone piss themselves on a chair I never saw anything negative here. They had amazing michelada beers that were perfect for summertime heat. Progress had the best Dodgers postseason watch parties. They would roll out the big screen and the place would be full of fans cheering. It terrible seeing this progress close. There is going to be a big hole left in South El Monte community. I hope the brewery cat finds a nice home!

I got Modelo Negra. $4 each. There was a regular here named Gina that was really friendly. She came to our table to say hi and said she confused us for friends of hers. She ended dancing with my friend and later danced with me. She mentioned that the bar is "gay" friendly and nobody cares. I felt the same way about the place. This past year we stopped coming as often as the drink prices have gone up and the pours given have gone down. It doesnt make sense to buy cocktails here anymore when we can go to other nearby establishments that charge the same if not less than what Dos Rios charges now. I understand you have to make a profit, but your clientele doesnt want to pay top dollar for a drink with barely any alcohol in it. Or buy a beer for the same price we can get one at a nice bar or restaurant in uptown Whitter or at a nearby brewery. The ONLY reason we support Dos Rios now is because of Sean.
