I love Trying small locations. This location is small about 10tables, clean average, Friendly service. They are updating their menu so a few of the sea food items were no longer available. We ordered the fillet fish Al mojo de ajo. Birria tacos and the molcajete. The tacos had really good taste, my dad enjoyed the fish al mojo de ajo. The molcajete was a little dry but ok taste. Café de olla was pretty darn good and I'm picky with the age de olla. Definitely will be back to try other dishes. read more

Glad to have found a small hole in the wall, family restaurant. The staff was very welcoming, tried everyone's recommendation for the coffee. However, the sugar was too much from my poor diabetic self. The regular coffee was wonderful, I scooped a few spoonfuls of the delicious sweetened coffee just add a little flavor. I will say overall the food was very light on salt. Which is good for people who wanna watch their salt intake. Everything was made well. My only downside, was that it was a bit hot inside. Place is located on Tyler off the 60, easy to get to, easy to park. I didn't realize they closed at three on Sundays, I appreciate that they took my order before they closed. The woman in the front seemed really nice, she was friendly, easy to speak with. The restaurant itself is rather small. There's only a few tables available, but they do have some outside tables as well. If you're looking for a nice little spot for brunch and lunch, I would say this is it. I didn't get to stay and eat, I'm not sure how the drinks are, but I'm looking forward to trying another plate again read more

Been coming here for years and I still love it. Staff is great and you're always welcomed with a smile. Their food is still delicious. They offer great selections for food and you always leave satisfied. If you're going for breakfast then you should definitely get their cafe de olla. The ambiance and atmosphere of this restaurant is always on point and consistent. My new favorite thing to order is the machaca breakfast burrito. If you are a fan of the frozen shredded beef and cheese chimichangas then this dish is for you. The machaca (shredded beef) is sooo good. There are two Mexican restaurants right next-door to each other at this location. I accidentally entered Los Chilitos by mistake. I asked the name of the restaurant after I walked in realizing it was the wrong one. But some of the people who were there told me this place is better than the other so I took their word for it and tried it out. I'm so glad that I did. I ordered the chili Verde. It was amazing. Everything was great, the rice the beans the service. So friendly and so inviting. It was exactly what I was looking for. I will absolutely be back. read more

We were craving good homemade style Mexican food after volunteering at the Food Bank in the City of Industry. Yelp helped us discovered Los Chilitos in nearby South El Monte. Food was absolutely delicious and service was very friendly! Although the fajita wasn't served on a cast iron pan, but I'm okay with it. What matters is how it tastes. Tender beef slice and shrimp wasn't rubbery. The seasoning was perfect with the sauté vegetables. Chile Verde was a generous portion with nice chunks of meat. I feel cheated when some restaurants serve tiny pieces of meat. Nachos were very yummy with all the trimmings. If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely return! It was one of those days I really wanted a cerveza, but Los Chilitos don't carry alcohol. I ended up getting one from 7-11 and chugged it before going into the restaurant. read more

The food was overwhelmingly good.. if I'm honest, I had very low expectations. Time and time again I try out a Mexican restaurant and think to myself, yeah... Never again. I grew up eating authentic Mexican cuisine, my dad is and always has been an executive chef. It is very hard to find authentic Mexican food, but this place has it all figured out. Their menu is a little limited, but everything we had was absolutely delicious. The breakfast burrito was amazing and I'm not even really into burritos. My husband is super picky with Chilaquiles, and he was over the moon about them! The food has tons of flavor. The morning was perfect for outdoor dining, a decent, I love outdoor dining in overcast weather, nice cool, freshing, soft and gentle sunlight. Coffee de Oya (5/5) I was told it's cinnamon coffee, I was expecting black coffee with cinnamon, but it's actually sweeten black coffee with cinnamon. The sugar in the coffee was an amount that offset the bitterness of the coffee and allowed the cinnamon to really shine through. This place has made me a fan of cinnamon in my coffee. Simple, but effective. Los Chilitos Burrito (4/5) The contents of this wet burrito was very balanced. Asada, rice, pinto beans, guacamole, sour cream, greens, and red sauce on top. Personally, the only place I say is definitely better was Sonoratown due to the flavors they impart on the meat. This is till a very solid burrito. I came back the next day because I was working in the area and I had the Quesabirria tacos. Those were better. Los Chilitos is a great place to go to and enjoy some homemade Mexican food. This is one of those places that you bring all of your family to hangout at and eat some good homemade food. Service was wonderful and the restaurant felt so nice and cozy. We stopped by for brunch at around 11:30am and ordered a bacon and cheese wrapped shrimp plate, a combination plate which included enchiladas and tacos (we preferred the red enchiladas) and some warm champurado in these cute authentic cups. The salsa that they serve here is 5/5 stars and we kept ordering more of it. I really want to come back and try the molcajate or the caldo de res. The place is a bit on the small size but the wait wasn't long. They had us seated in 15 min, which was less than the 25 minutes they had anticipated. Service was friendly. We've been wanting to try this place out for around a year since we moved so close by. Seating is tight inside, they do offer a couple outside tables, and it was packed the whole time we were there. They do offer delivery via GrubHub. Single waitress, and looked like single cook, so any longer wait times were understandable. Waitress was very nice, attentive. Started us off with chips and salsa. Menu has homestyle mexican offerings, looked like their plates (platillos) and breakfasts are their strong suits, but O wanted to try the meats via tacos first. Tacos: Carnitas was amazing, perfectly crisped (felt like sisig) and great flavor Cabeza was too oily, the fatty parts weren't cut out, could have been chopped finer. Shrimp gobernador was ok. Lots of cheese, shrimp could get more seasoning. Quesabirria: these were very good, edges crispy, meat could have been finer chopped. A little on the oily side - consumme too. Mojarra: Great flavor, good grilling, nice and flaky. Loved the garlic. Surprised at the beans, usually don't like them at restaurants. Daughter like the grilled fish taco, son was ok with the chicken taco. Guacamole was mostly tomate/cebolla/cilantro, but tasted great. Cafe de Olla was GREAT. Aguas Frescas (Jamaica & Cucmber) we're solid and hit the spot. Overall a solid place at lunch, likely better for breakfast. We were asked if we were ok sitting outside instead which worked out cause it was a nice cool morning. I ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce with rice and beans. My fiancé ordered the los chilitos burrito and a café de olla. The Café de olla was the highlight of my meal. I was expecting bitter coffee but instead it was just the right sweetness with cinnamon. I really enjoyed the café de olla. A must order. The chilaquiles were just ok. The green sauce was a little bit too sour for my taste. The burrito was good and satisfying. It was a huge burrito covered with lots of toppings - lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream. The carne asada was tender and not dry. Oh forgot to mention that they gave us complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was good, not too spicy. However, what really stood out at this restaurant was the service. Becky, our server was the only one waiting tables. And as I mentioned it was packed inside with 2 tables outside. And we saw people leave and go. But Becky was very attentive. She stopped by our table at least 5-6 times to refill coffee and check on us. Excellent service. The restaurant is located inside a plaza so there is plenty of parking. I am really happy to have came here and tried their camarones con Salsa macha. The food is very delicious, not greasy or heavy, they serve a good plate that can feed 2 with 1 plate. I also tried the pepino con limón drink and man this place is very delicious. I come from Long Beach and the chef was told that and he was so kind to even make me a French toast dish so I can try it on my way back home. Where do I start... cafe de olla was bomb. Tapequina was excellent... steak was perfect. But the best thing there are the beans. They were the best beans anywhere. The agua de lemon con pepino was fantastic. I tasted the chiliquilles con green sauce... yum yum!! Hubby said the chili rellenos were good. Service was impeccable. I can't wait to return. I wish I could give more stars, but the chilaquilles were just not good. I got mine with green sauce. The waitress, who was very nice, mentioned that it was less spicy than the red sauce, but kinda vinegary. That was an understatement!!! It was sooooo damn sour. I just could not keep eating it. I have never had, nor heard of a green tomatillo type salsa having vinegar. It was all kinds of nope. My brother had the red salsa on his. It was a bit spicy, but the sauce also was just not right. I am not saying that it was spoiled or went bad, I am just saying that the flavors/ingredients were just not good. The beans were good, and the cafe de la hoya was awesome. I give the cafe 10 stars. Maybe other stuff might be better, but the cook needs to go back to the drawing board on those sauces. His or her ancestors would be embarrassed. read more
