Try to find an Indian restaurant everywhere we go and this one was a gem. The staff was very friendly and we were seated quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is clean, organized but lacks the Indian artifacts at most.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was excellent just make sure to order it one spice level down from what you usually get as it is very spicy. Worth the stop if you are in the area.

My family and I love eating at Pakwan! We think it is the best Indian restaurant in Colorado Springs! We try different entrees on the menu for different visits but often just order the same ones because we love the flavor and spice level. We love all the dishes that we ordered today and always order extra to take lunch leftovers to work. The staff is always courteous and kind to us. They fill our waters and check on us to make sure we are happy with our food. I highly recommend this restaurant for your Indian food craving!

Great location, Great ambience with nice contrast of colors in the restaurant decor, beautiful lamps and nice decent wine selection which they have a display on the wall. I will NOT recommend veg biryani as it was not as it was suppose to be, i feel like it was more looking like veg fried rice types. Went little late with my group of friends still they accomodate us and did not rush us at all. The presentation of the food with the taste is amazing. Must try their malai paneer tikka with malai gravy which comes on the side. One of the best pan ice cream they have. Service was excellent and very friendly. 10times better than other restaurant around there ! Overall we had a great experience.

While the food was amazing customer service was absolutely horrible. The servers are too busy chatting away at the front and not tending to tables. I asked for a to go container 3 times where I got up and stood there until it was handed to me.

Went to Pakwan and was seated immediately with no wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place wasn't packed but the atmosphere was great and we loved the booth seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was packed with flavor and spice. We ordered the paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan. I love Indian food and was not disappointed one bit. I'll definitely be back soon to order the same thing.

FAMILY OWNED || HIGHLY RECOMMEND If you are in or around Colorado Springs, you should definitely go and try to out this place. They have got the best food in the area. And i would say their food is one of the best i have tried all over the United States. We were skeptical going to this place looking at the pictures online. We were exploring other options but when we chose this place and i am glad we chose this as the food was so so good. Me and my friend were not sure what to order. The server was very young girl and she could not recommend options from the menu as which are most popular dishes. But anyways we ordered Goat Biryani and Afghani Chicken Afghani Chicken - it was super super delicious. It was served with Mint Chutney and butter gravy. Goat Biryani - it was very delicious too. We requested the server to just put in a request to chef to give tender goat pieces and thats what exactly we got. The quantity was a lot for each dish we ordered. Not typical of other places i have tried. They had good decor of the restaurant with some paintings and décor representation India. I highly recommend this place to everyone and i am definitely going to this place again when i am in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow! I had never been to an Indian restaurant before, and the atmosphere here was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered two different naans--rosemary and truffle--and both were fantastic. For our main dishes, we each got the vindaloo: I had lamb, and my boyfriend had chicken, both with medium spice. The flavor was amazing, and the spice level was perfect for us. We also tried the Old Monk beer, which had a great taste. For dessert, we finished with rice pudding. I expected it to be a little thicker, but it was still delicious. We'll definitely be coming back! I wish I got our servers name to thank him directly, he did a great job!

    EPIC Papadum Platter!

We have been to Pakwan multiple times and have never been disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is pleasant and welcoming[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service is great and food is always delicious. Tonight for our appetizer we shared the papadum platter. It exceeded expectations! Generous portions of papadums with cumin seeds and plain papadums (sprinkled with chaat masala seasoning and chopped cilantro) and mango chutney, tamarind sauce and mint/cilantro sauce. My husband had his favorite of saag with chicken (medium heat) and I had my favorite, Samosa Chaat. It's a generous appetizer that makes a great entree. We shared the Kashmiri Naan (soft, fluffy naan stuffed with cherries, raisins and shredded coconut). We usually get desserts (all are amazing) but we were satisfied with the naan as a sweet treat. Our Server JD was pleasant, helpful and efficient. We don't go out to eat all that often, but when we do Pakwan is our favorite place to go. It's always wonderful.

A friend recommended this place so we went to check it out. The food was good and I especially liked the pakoda platter it was very tasty and has good variety. The chicken dish (I can't remember the name) was also flavorful. Overall a decent place but it's short of 5 stars for me as it's good but not spectacular. Service was nice too. Great ambiance.

One of my favorite dishes is chicken tikka masala, and I enjoy trying it at different restaurants…read morewhen traveling. We stopped into King Restaurant and I ordered their hot option of chicken tikka masala (Indian hot was the top, but I didn't wanna take the risk). My fiancé got their butter chicken, which ended up tasting very similar to the tikka masala. One of our other friends got the chickpea curry in medium, which honestly tasted a bit more spicier than my hot. We had two orders of garlic naan for the table. Let's start off with my spicy chicken tikka masala. It has the bright orange creamy look which suggest a more tomatoey based curry that I enjoy. The pieces of chicken were spread throughout, and were quite small. It honestly reminded me of the Tyson grilled chicken strips that were cut up into cubes and added into the curry. Not too impressed with the chicken. I also could've gotten away with the Indian spice because the hot was not spicy at all. My fiancé got the butter chicken which tasted very similar to my tikka masala. Very early into the dining experience, he had a piece of metal that was almost consumed. Upon closer inspection, it looked like a piece of aluminum foil. We alerted the waiter and he brought it back to the kitchen. He shortly came back and apologized, saying they wrap their chicken in aluminum foil and must've missed removing some when preparing the food. This adds to my theory that they just add in precooked chicken instead of marinated protein. They didn't offer to remake or comp the dish, but we just came from a long flight and needed something to eat. The naan was okay, it was more bready and cakey to what I normally prefer. It tore easily and did not have a chewiness to it. I prefer my naan to have more bounce and stretch to it. Overall, each curry was about $20. Back in CT, this is on the higher end. One of my favorite spots charges $16 and includes large, marinated, tender chicken breasts and their spicy is actually sweat inducing. I was not too impressed by the quality of the curry for the price, and the naan did not save the experience. The aluminum foil that could've been ingested was also a big negative of this dining. Based on the number of higher reviews, I am hesitant to try other Indian restaurants if this was placed at a higher caliber.

I'm not sure what changed but something is very very different in the kitchen. The vegetable samosas have a much thinner pastry and it's oily. The vegetable filling is straight mush with no texture. You only get the brown dipping sauce. (The meat - beef - ones are no longer on the menu.) The tikka masala was BRIGHT orange and lacked developed spice profile and I thought was the consistency of soup - until I got to the BRIGHT yellow lentil soup (which lacked lentils almost entirely - I would've thought they were grits if I didn't know) which was the consistency of water. So the curry is like soup, but the soup is actually like water. So. There baingan bharta was also void of developed spices - I only got heat. And it seemed like it was put in a soup blender. It was the consistency of baby food. The mango custard was the consistency of water. But my sister said her biryani rice was ok - but there barely any chicken. But thank god the cheese/garlic naan is still good. I hate giving bad reviews. This pained me. But I just don't want anyone else used to their old menu/cooking to think it's still the same.
