I had my conch pierced here and was deeply disappointed by the irresponsible and unsafe piercing practices. It was done with a lobe stud and an improper gauge, which is completely inappropriate for cartilage. Within weeks, the jewelry began embedding under my skin with even the slightest pressure. I had to go to a more experienced piercer to have the jewelry changed and the piercing stretched to the proper gauge. Stretching cartilage is incredibly painful and not something that should ever be required just to fix someone else's mistake. This has caused unnecessary pain, stress, and additional expense that could have been avoided with proper technique from the start. I cannot in good conscience recommend this studio for cartilage piercings unless they make serious changes to their standards. read more

This place is great! It is well organized with a consent form and signs asking for polite behavior. Everyone is really nice too. My artist was Dylan. She did a Sonic and Tails tattoo for me. I filled out a form saying what I wanted, where I wanted it, and how big I wanted it. She double checked what I wanted and walked me through everything. i cannot say enough good things about this tattoo shop. me and my friend were visiting LA for holiday break. we decided we wanted to get tattoos and called a few places to see if they took walk ins. we called a few places before palace art, and they were either closed or didn't have availability. when i called, zach picked up the phone and said they had availability. i told him what i was looking to get and he said it would only be $100!!! granted, it's a smaller tattoo but such an incredible price for same day. so, we drove up the beautiful road from malibu to thousand oaks and got tattoos. i went first as this was my second tattoo and i knew what to expect. while they prepped the station, they had mini air hockey and donuts in the lobby! the tattoo process was seamless. i texted the picture to the artist and he printed it off and put the stencil on my skin. my tattoo only took half and hour and looks fabulous. then my friend got her first tattoo. she said the pain wasn't bad at all, which surprised me! while she was getting her tattoo, we started talking with the other artists and talked about minnesota and our funny accents. i don't think we speak differently, but apparently we do haha. it was a great time and the price was right. i wish i lived closer as this would be my residential tattoo shop forever. zach was so sweet and even gave us a hug and a social media shoutout afterward. cannot say enough good things. great parking, great tattoos, and the best people. 11/10 in my books. read more

Was looking for a local place to get my tattoo, did not want to drive all the way to Hollywood. Found Palace Art Tattoo online and the reviews were great. Went in to show them my design and get their opinion. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Willy and asked how he could help (shop was full of customers). Willy looked at my design and told me Jamie would be perfect for this as it is fine lines. Jamie was great, she took time to talk with me and review my design. The original one has blue pearls, a symbol of Bora Bora. I thought it was cool to have them, but Jamie said they would not look like nice shiny pearls, more like blue dots. Really appreciated her advice. Came back a week later for my tattoo and again a month later for touchups. Was a great experience and would definitely recommend Palace Art. Got my belly button pierced by Haven. Initially was super trusting as he has pierced several friends of mine and pierced my septum. HOWEVER, looking back at the experience for my navel he does lack placement education. After talking to other piercers every single one said I should've been given a floating navel due to my anatomy . Not only is my anatomy not good for this piercing, he pierced with such a short bar it was sinking in. He said this was their biggest bar which is incredibly concerning considering I only way 175 pounds so their longest bar is probably only suitable for girls weighing 120-130. Photos of my irritated belly button included (the jewelry in it is the new bar bell he had to bend himself to put in because they didn't have any longer navel jewelry). There were just certain red flags about the conversation too. I asked if he does stretching (most and all reputable piercers should be able to stretch) and he said "no that's easy enough to by yourself" and told me it's safe to wait one month in between stretching my SEPTUM. My current piercer is 19 and is a lot more aware of anatomy and safety when it comes to stretching. Even if it is doable yourself I think no piercer would usually tell you it's easy to just do yourself (especially septum) since there are so many things you can do wrong and damage your body. read more

I called in for a consultation because I wanted to add onto my current tattoo. Devon responded in less than 30 minutes and asked me to come by today to see what he could do. He then went straight ahead by giving me ideas of how I can cover up areas of my current ink and make it look as blended in naturally as possible. Overall, Devon made the experience SO amazing and delightful. I came here on Friday the 13th to get their flash tattoos and was super excited because me and my friends were all going to get one. As I was taken back, the artist (I didn't get his name), was very friendly and reassured me that it wouldn't hurt because I was visibly nervous. Since the shop was a bit busy the artist did not show me the stencil or the placement and I only got to see it when he was all done. Not only was it the wrong tattoo, it was also crooked. I am very lucky that the tattoo was at least similar to the one I wanted. The artist was kind enough to offer the tattoo for free but was very upset was shouting across the shop to another artist saying how it was my fault for not checking or asking and being extremely rude about the situation in front of everyone in the shop. I was happy with the service and the speed at which the artists were working but I was highly disappointed how the artist reacted and that the blame was being put on me. read more

Came as a tagalong a friend for a piercing. Palace art is located in a strip mall on TO blvd with the parking lot behind it. Interior is well decorated and spacious. However, they don't have separate compartments / rooms for tattoos - you are on a bed by the front in full view of other clients getting tattoos and also everyone who walks in. It doesn't bother everyone, but something to note if you really value privacy. They have some rooms in the back. The process went smoothly. Cost for a single piercing was $50 including jewelry which is pretty reasonable. The artist made us feel pretty comfortable and took all the usual precautions with sanitation. However, did think the after care instructions were pretty sparse. We had to ask for a care sheet. read more
