The penne Alfredo sauce was good and so was the manicotti. My gnocchi was ok, but I wish I had gotten manicotti. The cheese was hot and it was delicious (I had a bite of my daughter's order). They ran out of garlic knots which was sad. That was part of the reason we were coming. We ended up with 3 out of 5 breadsticks we should have gotten with our orders, but they had run out of garlic knots and breadsticks. I feel like they could have substituted something else, but they were done and wanted to be off for the holidays already. There was a family who came in after us and apparently they were told they could sit and eat at first, but then they were told that they needed to go/could not stay to eat. Overall, the food was pretty good. The Parmesan cheese ran out and we were able to grab some from the fridge on the side by the door without having to wait for someone to get it which was good because after they drop food off, they don't come back since it's a pay and then sit down to eat vs. servers. If we were relaxing and trying to enjoy our meal, I don't think the ambiance was right for that. The people were cleaning up and getting ready to check out for the night and they were closed the next day so I would say they didn't need to be open if they wanted to leave and were going to make sure the customers felt like they were a burden. The small was the perfect size for a party of 2. This location in Highland City never disappoints. Only thing that was disappointing as the location for not celebrate Pi Day (3/14). This location's manager refused to give me any refund at all. I would understand not giving 100% but at least 50% would have been acceptable. We all know it wouldn't if went to waste as there are 20 people ordering almost identical items that this could have been used to fulfill or at least used for slices . Very poor customer service. Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday at around 1230. It was not busy at all; we got right up to the counter and had the entire place almost to ourselves. We chose to order from the display pizzas but a large menus is posted if you'd like to order something special. Husband chose two slices of meat pizza and a beverage, kid chose one pepperoni slice and a beverage, I chose one chicken bacon ranch slice and a tomato basil slice and a beverage. All was tasty and around $20, so not too shabby. There's a display of desserts, if the fancy strikes you as well as side items of breadsticks or knots. Just moved to Bartow about 2 weeks ago and found this place on Apple Maps and Yelp. My wife and I have been back 3 times in 2 weeks. So far our favorites are the calzones and Stromboli. After 8 years, time to update my review. Sorry to say it lost a star. They have ample help--usually 4 behind the counter socializing, but are not making their high employee to customer ratio a formula for successful service. On my most recent visit, I ordered spaghetti with sausage, breadstick, glass of wine and dessert (for one). $24 was a pretty high cost for a pizza joint. The spaghetti and marinara came out steamy hot with lots of "gravy". But the sausage was barely warm with zero flavor-no fennel, no heat- the consistency of pate. (YUK). It's sad when flavorless sausage would make a meatball more flavorful. The service was so busy being social, they forgot the spoon request for the spaghetti, they forgot the glass of wine and they forgot the breadstick! Pitiful. Staggered meal delivery. I was the only customer in the place, they seemed to have a steady take out pizza business. One guy brought his pizza back with a complaint about the sausage--the lack of it as well as the fact it was dime disks and not "crumbly" (he hadn't even gotten the chance to enjoy the lack of flavor.) I am not a fan of their pizza sitting out and getting reheated upon ordering, though the variety is good. The wine was a generous serving, the dessert was delicious. If they want seated customers, they have to improve service accuracy or reduce prices. There are better products and service at Il Forno and Scarpa's for the similar costs. read more

Went to this place on a busy Saturday night. There were plenty of staff on hand. Had the spaghetti special and it was enormously large, however, the meatballs were not very good and tasted a little bit burned and bitter. Also tried the Bruchetta as an appetizer which has potential but it was sitting around and the bread was too dried out. The garlic knots were very dried out on top, too. Nothing really tasted fresh. He is the kindest, nicest worker you'll meet. Always willing to help you get what you want. I even heard him help a guy order fresh thinly-sliced lemons on his pizza. When Papajohns down the road started charging 16 dollars for a one topping pizza delivered before tip, we switched to this place. Normally a 16 inch large 1-topping pizza is $14.70ish. You can't be it. They don't deliver but that's okay. It's nice to get great food (but more toppings! :) ), and know that you are supporting a local business. The buffalo wings are good for being oven baked. We've never eaten in before, we want to, just haven't gotten around to it. They used to have a coupon where if you eat in you get 50% off the second entree. I work in downtown Lakeland by another palace pizza. Some say that it is the best pizza in town.
