Stopped by last night, sat at the bar. Bartenders were…read moredifferent than the usual two, slightly more attentive than other visits. I went off the usual rails of what I got there to some extent. Their 2 piece scallops (ordered "as an app") is always a solid decision. They would be wise to put it or another iteration on the app menu. I was wanting a fish entree, and decided to try the trout, as I wasn't feeling pasta. The scallops as an app were amazing, as always, and I expected that to be the highlight of the evening. The trout blew my mind in its flavor and presentation. Far more than I would have thought. Pan seared trout, shaved Brussel sprouts and mushrooms and pancetta with dill cream sauce EXCEEDED my expectations. Brussels are not typically anything I would laud, let alone rave about. But the bed of shaved Brussels with a skin on trout was an absolutely perfect pairing that almost made me want to do it all again that very same night. Brussels are typically boiled mushy or oven roasted, and I always saw them to be limited in flavor profiles.. But the nutty flavor they brought to this dish changed my mind on this vegetable potential. The skin of the trout was crunchy, but amazing. The Brussels were delicate and soft with so much flavor. The sauce on top was a perfect pairing. I was blown away that I had been to this establishment 100+ times and never tried this dish, which I will happily add to the rotation. I typically don't do dessert here, but decided to try the apple crostata. The flavor was amazing. The portion was for two, my waistline now wishes there was a declaration or option of for two or for one when ordered. Overall, I highly recommend the trout with shaved Brussels. Their scallops are consistently good. Their bar waitstaff can be stand-off ish if you aren't a local that lives across the street, but in this instance the waitstaff catered to all, not just the locals. I will keep travinia in my rotation.

We were seated near the bar area, and it was extremely smoky, which made the dining experience uncomfortable for me. On a positive note, our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions. My spritz was good, and I also enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Unfortunately, the lobster ravioli was extremely salty--to the point that I couldn't really enjoy the dish. Between the smoky atmosphere and the entrée, I left a little disappointed. I'm not sure this is somewhere I would visit again.

I visited the Gyromania Grill at 2558 Main Street in Elgin…read morefor lunch today (First Time) and I was totally enthralled & impressed with the restaurant, the food, and the staff. Having moved down to South Carolina six years ago, & given the hyper local establishments nearby my home that offer something I can only say somewhat passes for a gyro sandwich, Gyromania Grill far exceeded my expectations, and passion for an Authentic gyro, the kind I recall from up in New York yonder. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, and was greeted by Sheila, to receiving my Hummus appetizer with pita bread triangles, to receiving my Gyro pita sandwich, I couldn't believe how authentically tasty & delicious the food was. The food is prepared fresh on the spot, nothing laying around in heating hampers, from the french fries that are cut fresh daily, and fried when ordered, to the veggies that garnish the Gyro, to the freshly prepared tzatziki, my taste buds exploded with excitement at how delicious everything tasted. Honestly, I never expected to have that sensation of a well prepared Gyro the likes of what I recalled from NY, down here in S.C. but alas, I found *THE* spot for authentic, Great tasting Greek food. The restaurant itself is bright, open, VERY CLEAN! (I mean, Extreme Clean!) You can tell the employees take pride in presenting the establishment and the food they serve in the spotlight. Watching the staff behind the counter prepare the food, I noted how friendly and happy everyone was, no "fanny frowner /why am I here" faces, and compared to oh so many other food establishments I've been to, that impressed me a lot. I originally was going to order the lemon potatoes with my gyro, but they weren't prepared when I ordered, yet once they were, Sheila and her assistant surprised me by bringing by a little sample for me to taste, so next time I come in, I will absolutely enjoy them with my order, but the greek seasoned fries that came with my Gyro were trey`delicious just the same! The restaurant atmosphere is nice, I got there right before the lunch crowd, so it wasn't too crowded, I'm told sometimes the place can get really packed (no doubt, people enjoy eating delicious & tasty food, & Gyromania Grill delivers that!) The portions are decent, the prices very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and even if you have to drive a little out of the way to get there (as I did) it's well worth the effort. I Absolutely WILL BE Returning again in the very near future, and look forward to sharing the Gyromania Grill experience with folks I know will appreciate how authentic and well prepared this food is. ***** 5-STARS ***** For Cleanliness, Quality, Service & Value! Put Gyromania on your bucket list of places to visit for a great meal! You won't regret it. `JT

Thankfully, this location redeems the brand. The staff was friendly and sat us right away. Our server, Siannah, was amazing, honestly, a breath of fresh Carolina air. She nailed it: attentive, upbeat, and on point the whole time. =) Now, the food. I ordered the Bleu Ribbon Burger with a turkey patty and an egg on top, hot, fresh, and stacked just right, nice and round. My son went with the Whiskey River Burger, and after stealing a bite, I can confirm it was juicy and perfectly pink in the middle. That's the only way I'll have it . Even the water was crisp and refreshing, which tells you they pay attention to the little things. And let's not forget the fries. They kept coming, basket after basket, no begging required. Same with the drink refills. That kind of service goes a long way. Lastly, it is very clean in here and vibe is nice. If you're lucky enough to land in Siannah's section, you're in for a good time ;) so gorgeous. Red Robin nailed it here.

I have not eaten at a RR in eight or nine years, but I was I NE Columbia, SC today around lunch time so I decided to stop in with a friend at the Village at Sandhills. It was not very busy for lunch on a Friday. I went with a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The best thing about the burger was the bun and toppings. All were very fresh and tasted good, especially the cheddar cheese. The burger itself was pretty tasteless. It was pretty round and looked like it had come on the back of a truck prepackaged. The fries tasted good but were not exactly piping hot. I am not surprised to see other reviews here are mediocre at best.
