It's done to me I guess because my home store which I considered this had not been ruined yet by ugliness. And then a massive eyesore of ugliness gets installed right by the front entrance when you go in the door. It made me think that we have forgotten that this type of thing eliminates jobs. I wonder how many cashiers and baggers are not needed any longer. Especially those retired people that need a few extra bucks to get them by. I've used self checkouts and other stores but this made me realize how lazy I'd become. It was like my home store was ruined. I will never use them ever. And I hope Publix get this message. It looks like crap and it puts people out of work. It's made me decide not to use them and any other stores I go in either.

Honestly, I had kind if given up on Winn-Dixie at one point as the quality of the product and the customer service continued to plummet. And then Winn-Dixie (and/or Southeastern Grocers) made a decision that they had to revamp and rehaul the struggling supermarket chain. Yes, they gave the stores quite the face-lift. They made the stores welcoming and looking like a supermarket that you would want to shop at. The staff seemed a bit more friendly. But what to me was the best change was the emphasis they put on their meat department, bringing in more USDA Chouce grade beef. You have to remember that Winn-Dixie was once the self-described "Beef People" and it was sad that Winn-Dixie focused more on their cheaper, significantly less quality beef as opposed to the quality USDA Choice grade. Now Winn-Dixie is out to take the market back that they lost. This particular location is clean and conveniently located on 17-92. There is adequate parking and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

The checkout line moves quick even when they are busy and they have more than one checkout clerk unlike Walmart and Winn Dixie. The store is very clean and organized. They also have a small seating area and restroom if you decide to eat-in versus going back to your car or the office. I described the cashier and her friendly, chatty friend who was standing alongside her. I got caught up in their playfulness and failed to get my change. The manager genuinely apologized and even shared that the employee had on a previous occasion been told about having her friend being there when she was working. The manager also told me to come get my money. She then told me the days of that week she'd be working since I was unwilling to return that same day. I didn't make it back that week but when I went days later the lady working customer service said that she didn't know a manager by that name. Well, of course, I say NP and that maybe she's a weekend only manager. I asked to have my receipt back as I had written the manager's name on it. After, a few more days, again, I go back and again customer service doesn't know the manager of whose name I was given. All that long story is to say, if you shop at Winn Dixie ensure your items ring up correctly.
