Picked up a couple pizzas and some appetizers from this place. Drove it home only to find out one of the pizza has the wrong ingredients. I called them up and they informed me I had to bring the messed up pizza back. So I drive another 25 minutes and bring their pizza back. I asked how they were planning on compensating me for my troubles. Their answer... I was being compensated by them making me my pizza. I was in the south suburbs in Frankfort for a romantic getaway with my better half and we were not leaving our pool suite for one minute, so obviously we needed to order some good delivery. After some wine, cocktails, swimming and unmentionable activities - we were craving some food to really hit the spot. We called and made an order for one sinfully fat-ass meal! We ordered a small half sausage and half pepperoni deep-dish pizza, an order of fried mushrooms, 1/2 slab of ribs (came w/fries, slaw & garlic cheese bread), and a dozen hot wings with hot sauce and bleu cheese. The phone call order process and credit card payment via phone was seamless - the lady that took our order was very friendly and patient to our detailed order. She even threw in most of the extra sauces we wanted for free, voiding the annoying 50 cent charges. The food arrived promptly in about 45 minutes. The deep dish pizza was decent - the cheese, toppings, and sauce weren't layered in that classic Chicago-style manner. I felt that the "deep-dish" aspect of it was just the thicker crust and bread which was quite unpleasantly hard (that's not "what she said") from being baked in a bigger pan. Either way, it had filling slices, with a moderate amount of gooey cheese, a moderately low amount of pizza sauce, and supple amount of meat. The presentation of the pizza was top notch - it looked very appealing before we took it apart to devour! You can see it in the photos section of this listing. Sadly the presentation ousted its actual quality and taste by a bit. Still, it was definitely 'good enough' as food was the not the focal point of my evening (for once). The fried mushrooms were as good as they get - hot, wet steaming mushroom on the inside - Italian herbed breaded crust on the outside. Yum! We dipped these in hot sauce, ranch, and even a special garlic mayo they included! The wings were seasoned breaded and fried, and though they weren't sauced per se, we were able to toss them in the included hot sauce and when dipped in the bleu cheese, they were yummy in the tummy - I had like 8 of em'! The 1/2 slab of ribs had a moderate amount of meat on them, I've had meatier ribs. They were not too dry but the meat was not exactly falling off the bones either. They put such a supple amount of BBQ sauce over them that we were able to toss half our chicken wings in the sauce to make BBQ chicken wings. The ribs came with some good fries that had gotten a tad soft (understandable with delivery) and some good garlic bread that we added cheese to for 50 cents. The small side of cole slaw included helped have something fresh to bite into in all that greasy yummy mess. Overall the deep-dish was good enough to eat and enjoy, but nothing to brag about. It was nowhere near the best in Chicagoland, and don't even think of comparing it to Gino's, Giordano's or Lou Malnati's! The fried mushrooms were yummy as they usually are, the chicken wings were very good (especially when complemented with hot sauce, BBQ sauce, bleu cheese, etc.), and the ribs were above average. When staying in for the night and craving some nice greasy, indulgent food - this place really can hit the spot. I highly encourage any couples staying at nearby Sybaris or are in the area and want some affordable delivery to check this place out. We ordered a ton of food (it ate like 2 separate dinners for me and my GF, and still we had 1/2 the pizza leftover) and it came out to about a $40 bill + tip, but when you take into account that we ate 2 meals out of it and still had 4 slices of pizza to take home for leftovers - it was a pretty solid value! So really we ordered enough for 3-4 people to eat big dinners with. I would order here again! read more

Last night I picked up a pizza. While waiting, the manager was belittling his employees, referring to them as dumb, and dropping the f-bomb! He was also waking around with pizza hanging out of his mouth! He was mean and cruel, and completely unprofessional. I could hear him yelling at his cooks in the back, as well. The employees up front were teenagers- and, as a parent- I'm sickened that they are treated this way! We went there weekly, but will never be back again! My family and I ordered two pizzas from them a couple weeks ago. After the pizzas hadn't showed up for an hour and a half (reasonable is their busy) we called to check on them. They said they were coming out of the oven now. Not even two minutes later the delivery driver knocked on our door to drop them off. (That was quick) All good except pizzas were freezing cold. We called them to let them know the pizzas were freezing cold. They let us know they would remake the pizzas or put a credit on the account for an order at a later date. That's good business! However, one star for these folks as we called them today to honor the credit. After a 20 minute interview about our order and questioning whom we talked to we asked for a manager. He was too busy. They said the best they could do was 50% off. Probably so they wouldn't lose money and make a small profit. Well guess what Palermos in Tinley?? There seems to be an ongoing theme to the reviews about bad service, extra wait times and cancelled orders. I think they need to be held accountable for their actions..and quickly I would have given this no stars. Our meal this weekend was probably one of the worst take outs we had in a very long time. Parmesan chicken and eggplant with no cheese, baked mostaccoli soupy in the container with no cheese, wet soggy and cold food. And a bug on the top of our lid was the best part!! Bruchetta was stale bread with unripened tomatoes and Italian dressing. The manager or whatever it was, was rude and sloppy looking loud music from the back and dirty conditions. Do not eat here!!! A call to the health department and finding out who owns this location are our next moves. I hope the word gets out and we can hold these people accountable for horrible service and inedible food! read more

This place REALLY hits the spot if you're craving a dinner or late night chow down feast of epic cheesy and fried proportions! My bf and I had a great delivery experience with Palermo's, we ordered the food with very specific instructions on extra sauces, and little personal preferences on how we like our food, and they are probably the first delivery place ever to not mess up our order! They remembered everything we asked for and then some. The deep dish pizza was off the cheesey-fo-sheezey, and they way the packaged it kept it piping hot when we unveiled it at our table even after traveling thru 15 degree weather outside. The ribs were saucy and tender, the fried mushrooms were every bit as scrumptious as I knew they would be, their wings were fried to perfection with a little hot sauce on the side, their cheesey garlic bread and the garlic dipping sauce were phenomenal too. Oh boy, let me tell you about this one... First, and I acknowledge its just me, I don't like their pizza. The sauce is too sweet and gives me shits. Everyone else likes them, shits or not, so more power to them. But they ran out of sausage. Really? I don't know if you know this, but sausage pizza is mostly a Chicago specialty - you can't even get it in other parts of the country. HOW THE HELL do you run out of your most popular topping? And then, AND THEN... We call them, and they said yes, they have sausage this time, but they won't deliver anymore today. Should have been our sign. Two hours later, an hour after they told us it would be ready, 40 minutes after they said 20 more minutes, they won't even respond to our inquiries anymore. And I know why. They still haven't put it in the oven. Edit: So it turns out a cook walked off mid-shift. The amateur help filling the gap are presumably doing the best they can, given the circumstances. So, you may know by now that I am a pie fanatic. Yep, I will stalk a pie in an alley if its the bomb! Having quite the za tour this round during the holidays, I have to say that Palermo's stands out of the 6 different pies I had from different restaurants. The crust is cooked to perfection. This is your average hand-tossed style. Not overly thick to overfill you and not so thin that the ingredients fall off the slice. Just right. The knockout punch to your taste buds come from the cheese on this pie. This pie had complete coverage. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Also, the sauce has a nice sweet taste to it that brings you back for more. The trick with many sweet sauces is that Americans' love their sugar. Sprinkle a little in the sauce and you'll be defending your stock with dough rollers! There are a ton of pizza places in this area. It can be quite flooding in the cranium to pick the right one. If it is worth anything; I suggest you stop reading pizza reviews and order your pie from Palermo's. read more

This review is for the Tinley Park location. The pizza is GREAT. I would give 5 stars for the food. Some of the best pizza in town. It's the service that is terrible. Palermo's please upgrade your phone lines! When you call, the phone lines there are awful. They often can't hear you, and it's not my phone line (I've ordered from my work line), it's theirs. Not to mention the people answering sometimes have difficulty understanding spoken English which makes it a frustrating experience. So then I tried ordering online figuring that would be easier... NOPE... I get a phone call a half hour after I placed my order online saying they lost the order online and need to me re-order over the phone. My first order I asked for Thin Crust and got a Deep Dish. This place is delivery or carryout only and perhaps I should just go and pickup my order as the delivery service is slower than molasses. Each time they say "45 minutes to an hour" and three times it's been 1.5 hours. I live about 1 mile away from their building. Don't make promises you can't keep - hire more delivery drivers if the ones you have can't keep up. You food is good... but your service really needs work. read more
