    Mezzi plate

We came here on a recommendation. Glad we did! Amazing views of the bay! We opted for first floor seating inside with a view. There is rooftop, bar, and patio seating too. We got there at 4pm just when happy hour started. Score!! $5 cocktails (select drinks) and 40% off small plates. Pretty amazing happy hour! We orders non-happy hour drinks - the hibiscus spritz was the perfect summer drink! We order a few small plates - the Mezzi, short ribs, and crab cakes. Delicious!! Service was great! I saw a few pups when we left. The patio is dog friendly! Always good to know!

After a long day of exploring northern Michigan, we were happy to be able to snag a reservation at Palette Bistro to feed our hungry bellies. Located close to downtown Petoskey, Palette Bistro offers views of the lake from their back porch, indoor seating, and a nice front patio. We were seated out front and greeted promptly by our friendly server. We started the meal with the crab cakes, and I decided on a farmer's pasta with salmon as my entree. In between we had fresh bread with a sweet balsamic and olive oil for dipping. Our server was fantastic. Appropriately attentive, and going the extra mile to help grab things for kiddo (like a coloring sheet and mug full of crayons), to make sure that everyone enjoyed the meal. The ambiance is relaxed and definitely a vacation vibe, and we enjoyed winding down our day that way. If you're in the area and need a place to grab dinner, Palette Bistro deserves a spot on your list!

Hosted a group dinner here and had a great experience! The staff was friendly and on point, and the owner--on crutches, no less--even made the effort to hobble upstairs and check in, which was such a thoughtful touch. The pasta was flavorful, and the baked chocolate pudding? Massive! More like a warm, gooey brownie in disguise. Plus, the view from the private room overlooking the bay was absolutely stunning.

Traveling through all the Michigan beach cities this August, we came across this little gem! Parked across the street and got a table on the upstairs patio with a sliver of water view through the trees. Outgoing server Freddie was happy to accommodate with happy hour drinks. I had a canned starcut cider, spouse had an Eucre pilsner beer. After hearing about the forest floor soup, there was no way we could not try this creamy delectable mushroom bowl. Skipping other appetizers, we just split a Caesar side and went on to small and large plates. I ordered the short rib with polenta and was thrilled with this dish. Tender and flavorful. It was the perfect size small plate for my small appetite. Husband had the seafood paella which was gorgeous and loaded with mussels and fish. A short meal without dessert or more drinks, but a lovely experience nonetheless. Recommend!

Cool location right on the water (almost!) - we sat upstairs in a primo spot for happy hour which was nice... super cheap drinks and food. Our Crab Cakes and Feta Dip + complimentary bread service were nice.

We had a very good dinner - everything was hot and fresh and very good service. We sat outside on the upstairs deck which was a very nice atmosphere. We would definitely return.

To start, the atmosphere is beautiful, with the restaurant right on the harbor of Little Traverse Bay. The ambiance inside was welcoming, with the bar being connected to the outside seating. The service was also amazing, helping out with food and drink recs as well as constantly checking in. The food and drink were the stars of the show. We had the ahi tuna tacos, sticky ribs, crispy shrimp bao buns, and buffalo chicken lollipops. There were so many mouth-watering shareable options that we had to just get a bunch of those. Loved every bite! The drinks were also phenomenal. I tried the moon rabbit, which ended up being one of my favorite drinks I've ever had. Gin, ginger, lime, cucumber, and sesame oil - unbelievably refreshing combination, give it a try. Overall this place was phenomenal and it will now be a must have on future trips up north!

It sits right on the water, making it the perfect spot for a nice meal with a gorgeous view. I'll be honest--the food used to be pretty mediocre in my opinion, but I'm not sure what changed because they have seriously stepped up their game! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had the shrimp bao buns, burrata, lobster pappardelle, and the flank steak with grits, and every single dish was a 10/10. The flavors are unique, interesting, and so well done. The portions are also surprisingly generous. It's definitely on the pricier side, but you're getting high-quality food AND a substantial amount of it, so it feels well worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and clean, and the service is always excellent. If you're in the Bay Harbor area, I'd definitely recommend giving Nomad a try--you won't be disappointed!

What we got was a whitefish roll with only a tiny sliver of tuna (and no salmon). How does ANY restaurant justify that??? We pointed it out to our server who apologized and offered to remake the roll. However, the kitchen was backed up by the lunch rush and our time was limited. The "whitefish" roll was very bland but ok, ingredients were fresh -- it's just NOT what we ordered - not even close. If you order a NY Steak you expect a steak, not a hamburger. Substituting other ingredients for some crazy reason is just not an acceptable restaurant practice. Also, while the restaurant itself is decorated nicely with very creative and interesting lighting, they then junk it up with 5 gallon buckets of floor mop water sitting next to your table, or table bussing bins full of plates and my "picky" but telltale sign of laziness: cardboard boxes of ingredients and miscellaneous "junk drawer" items on the counters and stashed around the eating and kitchen display areas -- ultra tacky! So, good food, bad judgement and housekeeping by management, substitution of (or just leaving out) major ingredients, and a tacky atmosphere turns what could be a good restaurant into a mediocre one. Management needs to clean up their act.
