My husband and I ordered our wedding cake at Palette along with an order of assorted cookies. (Don't miss out on the cookies!) The cake was so beautiful and brought our vision to life. Kellie at Palette cakes was personable, is an incredible baker and expert level cake decorator. On top of the cake being fantastic, the delivery to Park Winters was seamless. Our guests were equally as impressed with our cake and desserts at the wedding and continue to talk to us about the peanut butter chocolate and vanilla raspberry wedding cake.
I was heading to brunch at a friend's house and my job was to bring dessert. I wanted to bring something from a local baker, so went on Yelp to see what was near me. This charming bakery popped up! The Velasquezes own and operate this great shop with not only beautiful, but tasty desserts. They were so friendly and helpful. I asked them to give me three of their favorite desserts to take to my brunch. The desserts did not disappoint. We had a mini cheesecake, mini lemon tart and a vanilla creme puff. They were beautiful and packed carefully for the drive across town. Kellie has an amazing, professional pastry chef pedigree, which is apparent in all of the desserts on display. I've already decided to order myself a birthday cake from them in May. If you're looking to support a local business, look no further!
Go try all the sweets made by Pallete Cakes, already! Yes, I might be eating the cheesecake in a bowl with additional fruits (considering I don't have sweet tooth this is normal for me), but that one serving cheesecake from Pallete Cakes is amazing! Every bite has an exceptional taste! I got it for my birthday and will be my go to from now on! We also got lemon merengue and fruit tarts which I got to taste and they are yummy! Everyone is very friendly and can help you with what you need or give you enough time to choose! If you are in need of a cake for a birthday or weddings or any celebration, they are your people!
I love this bakery! I go to school around 10 minutes away and I saw this bakery online. The cash register was a sweet lady and recommended the pastries to us. The inside was cute, bright, and simple. I love the accessories of flowers on the inside. It's a little small inside so there's not much room for dining in; there's about 2 small tables. First time here and I'm looking into ordering for events.

What a wonderful cake shop! It was exciting to see this new shop here in Carmichael. I bought a lemon tart and a confetti cupcake. The lemon tart was so soft and sweet, with its decadent marshmallow merengue. The cupcake was decorated with its mound of frosting. Perfect for birthdays. Let's talk about the beautiful wedding cakes. These look amazing. I was so impressed with all the sugar flowers!! Wow! I will be returning to try more.
We cannot say enough about how delicious and gorgeous our wedding cake was! Kellie was already booked for our wedding weekend because of our own fault in waiting too long after our tasting to confirm with her. She went above and beyond and offered to still make our cake and our wedding coordinator transported it for us! Kellie was so easy to work with, friendly, kind, communicative, and oh my word what an artist! I gave her free rein to use her talents and design our cake. I just told her the vibe of our wedding and examples of what my bouquet might look like. Our cake was truly a work of art and everyone raved about how delicious it was! Our top layer was gluten free and let me tell you, a week later when we returned from our honeymoon, still so fresh we devoured it! Will have to have her make us a mini for our anniversary because there's nothing left! Thank you Kellie!

Modern decor inside. All the tables had booked for tasting signs which I get but still, maybe have one for if someone wanted to eat on there premise. Otherwise please support local and give them a try!
Kellie was absolutely incredible to work with. She created my wedding cake and dessert table back in 2022 and my family and guests still talk about how beautiful they not only looked, but tasted. It's honestly hard to believe her florals are edible, they are so realistic looking. (see attached photos) From the very first phone call, she was so sweet and understanding. Palette Cakes was a dream come true! They were amazing from start to finish! The tastings we did before were divine! The flavors they had were spectacular! She did the most beautiful simple white cake for me with a giant bow and our guests loved it! We will definitely keep coming back for our different milestones!

The level of detail was unbelievable, and the sugar flowers were so realistic that guests genuinely thought they were fresh florals. Beyond how stunning it looked, the cake tasted just as incredible. After having lunch at Lido Cafe (in Carmichael), I noticed the Palette Cakes shopfront. It was a couple of shopfronts over in the same nondescript shopping plaza as Lido. I beelined it over there to check them out. Why? Because I do luv a good bakery. As I walked into the shop, there was a gentleman at the counter. He turned out to be the owner, Carlos. Him and his wife own the shop which they opened about a year ago. She's the baker. Their speciality is custom order cakes. Gorgeous, sophistically designed cakes. But they are not a one trick pony. No sirree. They also sold cupcakes, trifles, cream puffs, and tarts. They were all sitting pretty looking divinely delicious in a refrigerated counter. I bought two cupcakes. One was a honey roasted peanut butter on chocolate cupcake and the other I forgot the name of. But it was a chocolate cupcake of some sort with a vanilla type of cream frosting. Those were $4.50 a piece. Carlos told me the cupcakes are cold but best eaten about 40 minutes to a hour at room temp. Sorry to say I had no will power to wait that long. They both got devoured shortly after I got back to my car. Even without the wait, it was delicious. Moist, flavorful cake. The frosting was delicious and piped on perfectly. Sure the frosting was a bit stiff when I ate it because I had no patience to let it settle to room temp, but it didn't take away from the taste. Homemade perfection. read more

Stopped in before lunch to check out the dessert case. Returned after lunch to collect a few sweets. My friend selected the personal sized lemon meringue pie and absolutely loved it. Me and my (now) husband had such a great experience with Kellie and Carlos. From the very beginning, Kellie was communicative about what we were looking for from our wedding cake, collaborative with how we wanted it to look and taste, and it was just a really, really joyful process. At the last minute we also asked for some shortbread cookies for guests to enjoy with coffee before the ceremony started (we had a November evening wedding) and Kellie made it happen! The cake was stunning and I am having a hard time waiting for our first anniversary to sneak into the freezer and eat a couple more bites :) We have also turned to Palette Cakes for cookies and other celebratory treats and always have such a great experience. Adorable shop with nice decor and stunning cake displays. Although no gluten free on the menu, she can do nearly ANYTHING on the menu as gluten free. Easily the best GF cupcakes I have ever had, perfect texture and flavor. Delicious butter cream and sugar flowers on top! We hired Kellie and Pallette Cakes for our wedding cake and desserts in October 2023 and my jaw just dropped at how beautiful the cake was!! The consultations, the multiple reviews, and tasting were all done very timely, seamlessly, and professionally. It is a pretty overwhelming feeling when you initially enter wedding planning, however Kellie was very patient, considerate, kind. My husband and I felt very happy with the whole process as communication was very responsive and we just felt like we could trust Kellie and her expertise! We chose Kellie at Palette Cakes as the dessert vendor (dessert bar and wedding cake) for our wedding at Park Winters, and we are so happy we did. 11/10 experience all around. Not only were the desserts exceptional (I'll get to that later), but it was also just so easy and pleasant working with Kellie. She was incredibly responsive--even while setting up her new storefront in Carmichael. She also offered invaluable advice on table setup, cake design, and menu composition. We felt like we were in capable hands the whole time, which is exactly what any couple wants when they're in the midst of wedding planning. Now, onto the desserts! Choosing what to include in our dessert bar was challenging because every flavor sounded phenomenal. And they truly did not disappoint. Each dessert was beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. We loved watching our guests rave over each item and go back for seconds (and thirds!). Here's what we had: - Cream Cheese Blueberry on Lemon Wedding Cake: We chose a single-tier, 6" cutting cake that looked gorgeous (burnt mauve base with flowers and cherry blossoms made out of sugar) and tasted even better. Guests thought the sugar flowers were real! Mini Cupcakes: - Cappuccino Hazelnut on Vanilla: A coffee lover's dream. - Honey Roasted Peanut Butter on Chocolate: Like a Reese's peanut butter cup. Rich, decadent, without being too sweet. Chocolate Hazelnut Tarts: Like a deconstructed Ferrero-Rocher that just melts in your mouth. Lemon Meringue Tarts: Lemon punches through beautifully. Perfect crust, no sogginess at all. Oreo Cream Puffs: Super light and creamy. Gives you the joy of eating an Oreo without feeling like you're downing a sugar bomb. Salted White Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies: Never thought oatmeal cookies could taste so good, but they can when Kellie makes them. Do not underestimate these cookies! Crazy Cornflake Cookies: Instantly takes you back to times when you were a kid having cereal at breakfast or or biting into a freshly baked cookie at the mall. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, and we're grateful to Kellie and Palette Cakes for helping make our day so memorable. Palette Cakes was included on several of the 'recommended vendor' lists that my husband and I received when we were beginning our wedding planning process. When I saw the cakes on the website and Instagram, I knew I wanted to reach out to Kellie to learn more--her creations are BEAUTIFUL! Kellie is friendly, responsive, and so talented! We really enjoyed the tasting cakes we got to try but loved the lemon blueberry cake with cream cheese frosting! This flavor was perfect and refreshing for our early September wedding :-) Our wedding cake was absolutely stunning and fit in with our summertime and wildflower design. KELLIE IS AMAZING!! I cannot give enough stars for this review. We hired Kellie for our wedding in April 2022. Not only did she do our wedding cake, but she also supplied a wide variety of mini desserts for our dessert table. I am not a fan of chocolate & peanut butter. So when my husband (then fiance) wanted to try it out for a possible wedding cake flavor, I was less than pleased. Kellie's delicious cake flavor was able to completely change my mind! Of all the cake flavors we tested, honey-roasted PB & Choc was my second pick, his first pick. My first pick was her Almond Apricot. We ended up getting both flavors, one for each tier. The dessert table was the talk of the town. We had mini: cheesecakes, lemon meringue tarts, cream puffs (with a delectable caramelized sugar top), and vegan berry tarts. I wanted to surprise my groom on our special day with some tasty getting ready treats, and Kellie was able to coordinate with me and my planner to get some of her amazing cookies in the suite for my groom and his party to enjoy. Her crazy cornflake cookies are divine. Our wedding cake was so beautiful! We wanted a simple clean design with some gold trimming and she nailed it. She was open in communication the entire time and super responsive. The handmade sugar flowers were beyond my expectations. They were so realistic, our guests couldn't understand why I dove right in for a bite! We are coming up on our 1-year anniversary and instead of thawing out a year-old tier of cake (we decided to pass on that tradition), we are getting fresh mini versions of our wedding cake and some of those unforgettable mini desserts! We live pretty far away from the Kellie, but we don't care: SHE IS WORTH THE LONG DRIVE! I reached out to Kellie to make my reception cake for my April 2023 wedding and she did not disappoint! Everything from the consultations to drawing up the cake to seeing the finished product, Kellie is as professional as it gets! As a bride, booking vendors can be a bit nerve racking, but Kellie literally made it a stress free process. She is super friendly, talented, and delivered exactly what I was looking for. We had gotten the Cream Cheese Rasberry with Lemon Flavor Cake. It was delicious and the guests were definitely going back for seconds!
