I was looking around on the Snackpass app and saw that Palgong had a promotion for new customers. I couldn't resist. Large oolong milk tea with boba (regular ice, half sweet) - I saw another recommendation to get the normal ice level since if you get light ice the drink can still be a bit warm with all the ice melted. I'm glad I did, since the regular ice here is like the light ice at other shops. The oolong tea is delicious and high quality, and the fragrant qualities balance with the creamer. The boba is a touch on the harder side, but nothing too egregious. There's a good ratio of boba to drink. I would come here again and try out their other drinks and food offerings (their bingsoo looks so good for a hot summer day!) Also note that their prices are lower in store compared to on Snackpass (a large drink in store was roughly the same as a medium drink in the app). With the promotion, it was still a discount and it was a good way to put the shop on my radar. I'll be ordering in store going forward since there's no real need to order in the app as there's minimal wait due to their efficiency.

As an Asian who loves Bubble tea, it's hard to find good authentic Bubble tea places in Ann Arbor. Palgong Tea is a must go place if you are looking for authentic Bubble tea. My goto is usually matcha Bubble tea with red bean. Today, I'm trying taro with red bean and chocolate. When I came today, 50% of their customers were Asian. Keep up the good Bubble tea & good service!

Had an amazing dinner here. the korean corn dogs were fantastic, perfect crunch on the outside and the inside is warm and delicious. it came out pretty quickly for being made to order and the employees were very nice. lots of seating options in the restaurant and outside. overall definitely recommend!

Matcha milk tea with red bean (I added red bean, and it comes with boba), large size

Note: increasing to 4.5 stars- the business has tried to make it right after hearing my concern about my last drink (it was possibly made with the wrong type of tea) :) I have found they can sometimes be inconsistent and their drink quality can be uneven, depending on who is making the boba tea. It also seems to me like there's more ice scooped into each drink now (like each size cup is 3/4 full of ice) but I am not sure if it truly increased. I will update more as I go there over time. I'm sure some of it is growing pains with new staff.

I am always interested in checking out bubble tea shops in other cities because where I now reside, they are ubiquitous, and the bar is high when it comes to drink quality. This location at the Woodland Plaza south of the city is far from the university campus so you won't have much student foot traffic, only those with access to vehicles or public transportation. The inside of the suite was bright and clean. The only thing missing would be sofa seating and the availability of board games to make the environment even more hang out friendly. What makes Palgong Tea stand out from the local competition was the availability of bingsoo (shaved ice) and Korean style corn dogs. The latter is usually sold at food court vendor stands in my hometown and is not part of a boba tea shop menu. The variety of drinks was pretty standard with milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, coffee (iced/hot), and original teas (iced/hot). For my preferred category of fruit teas, the prices were dare I say, inexpensive at $4.25 for a regular and $4.85 for a large. Toppings cost a reasonable $0.55 for each one. My choice was a large Green Grape Green Tea which is not a common flavor that I have seen. Less sugar, less ice, and tapioca pearls were my standard modifications. The end product was okay as a regular sweetness level would have been the way to go. The pearls could have also been boiled longer to soften their consistency. The service was fine although at the time of my visit, only one other party was present so I expected no less because the staff was not busy.

I've been to Palgong Tea five or six times at this point and have found them to be among the most consistent boba shops in the Ann Arbor area. Combined with the fact that they are also one of the cheapest places to get boba, it's been part of my regular rotation whenever I'm in A2. On my most recent visit, I went right when they opened and ordered my standard drink: Black Milk Tea, Large ($5.46) - This drink comes with boba. I have no idea how they keep drink costs so low; most other places are at least a dollar or two more. The milk tea is pretty good quality too, with a black tea taste that isn't overpowered by sweeteners, and a creaminess added by the milk powder. The black tea is pretty strong here - I was really feeling the caffeine an hour or two afterwards. The drink comes default at 50% sweetness which I find to be pretty much on the dot. For the ice - this is the only place among the hundreds of boba shops I've visited where I recommend sticking to normal ice levels. If you get less ice, it all completely melts within a couple of minutes and the drink ends up being a little on the warmer side. The only negative is that the boba is consistently just a tad too firm. It gets firmer the longer you let it sit and within 20 minutes or so, the boba starts being unpleasantly hard. The drinks at Palgong Tea are pretty solid for the area and this shop is the only one in Ann Arbor I go to with any sort of regularity. I recommend it over most of the other places nearby.

The boba tea was just ok but the korean corn dogs were really good. They have a lot of drink options as well as shaved ice. They have a decent amount of seating inside. I'd come back to try more things on the menu.

Place: This is a new bubble place and it is in a plaza. The ambience is very bright and white. There is seating areas/tables that is perfect to catch up with someone or study. Service: The service was good and they recommended the bingsoo (yes omg they have that option) and K-dogs. Food $: The food and drinks were 10/10. So good and worth trying. I got the mango bingsoo and I was skeptical about if it would mainly taste like ice but after trying it was so sweet and had the perfect milky ice to syrup ratio (yes, I am getting it again). Audience: Solo Trip [X] 21+ [ ] Family Friendly [X] Friends [X] Date Spot [X] Recommendations/tips: I would recommend this place and it is in my saved places to go again!

This is the newest bubble tea place in town and they are still working out some bugs. The first time that I went there the two women who were working seemed a bit overwhelmed even though it wasn't that busy. The second time that I went I used there online ordering and they never saw the order so it wasn't ready when I got there. I did get my drink quickly though once they realized the mistake. Their menu is a bit confusing and it isn't clear if you can customize your drink when you look at the menu board. And in the online ordering, I could see customization choices that didn't apply to my drink (e.g., choice of milk was given but my drink was made with a non-dairy milk powder). Their drinks are also very sweet even though I requested a "less sweet " drink. The decor is pleasant and they have a few tables though fewer than the old Espresso Royale. I hope they get the bugs worked out because a coffee/tea place has been needed in this area since the closing of Espresso Royale.

Green Grape Ade

Stopped in with my wife and son, nice atmosphere. I got the combo for a corn dog and ade drink for $9.50, I choose the green grape ade and tasted like a green grape soda absolutely loved can't wait to try this in other flavors. My wife enjoyed her green tea, however, there are many other tea places in AA that serve this, I would stick to their Korean offerings as this is what differentiates this tea place from others. The strawberry Bingsoo is a popular Korean dessert consisting of shaved ice milk with a fruit of your choice in our case we choose strawberry, which came topped with fruity pebbles, very refreshing the fruit dominates the flavor definitely not as rich as ice cream, my kid really enjoyed this along with the chocolate croffle which he loved. Definitely looking forward to trying other flavors.

Mango bingsu
Andrew G.

Got their mango bingsu which was good but could've used more mango flavoring on top and less on the bottom. It came with fruity pebbles on top which I initially found odd but came to enjoy them. Nice quiet cafe with wifi for a Saturday evening to do some work.

I returned to try 2 more options: the Korean corn dog and the matcha tea with boba. Both were excellent. The corn dog was new to me . I ordered it with half sausage and half cheese with spicy Mayo. This is a Unique experience and very rich and indulgent. Perfect upscale fast food, with a modern. Cool ambiance and great service. It is deep fried, full of perfectly melted cheese, yet crunchy on the outside and drizzled with condiments of your choice. Try it!

Lychee bingsoo and Korean corn dogs
Abby B.

This is what Korean corn dog dreams are made of. A friend and I split a Bingsoo - lychee, which was amazing - and had to try the Korean corn dogs. They were crispy and wonderful and I am already scheming for what to get during my next visit. Their drink menu is extensive and I'm eager to try more!

But none of that is why I'm here... I stopped in on my way to work yesterday to get a cup of coffee and decided I'd better write a review about what I got. Many of the reviews below mention the great coffee that Zingerman's provides. But as a coffee drinker of 30 years, I can confidently say Zingerman's roasts the MOST BITTER coffee I've ever had. I guess it's a product for connoisseurs, but I am a little disappointed they don't have a normal coffee that tastes good. They only have burnt tasting, extraordinarily bitter coffees that make a British IPA beer taste watery. What's up with that? Why no mellow coffee at Zingerman's?? Also, if the cream curdles as soon as I add it to the coffee, I'm grossed out. If I want curds in my coffee, I'll dump some cottage cheese in there. What I prefer is a nice, smooth, creamy cup of drip coffee. There's really nothing better!

Admittedly I don't really know where they "mermaid juice" name comes from (I just picture it one of those trendy colorful drinks when I hear that name) but honestly they can call it whatever they want as long as they keep it as delicious as it is! For bites I went with the chorizo potato burrito which was really good. It was also a great value for the price point as it was quite a sizeable portion. I also love a sweet treat so I tried the maple waffles and that was also a great price for the size (two belgian waffles infused with cinnamon and maple, no need for the syrup!). I hear good things about the space itself but I haven't been in yet. I look forward to checking it out, though! But even for delivery it's a very solid option.

The main thing Drip House has going for it is that it is effectively the only coffee spot to sit and study or meet someone right by the stadium (where a bunch of us live and/or work). It is also open into the early evening when a lot of other coffee spots aren't. And we do love an outside seating option. The service has always been just fine and it's a pretty cute spot (not to sound ridiculously nit-picky but while we're here--someone might wanna sheer some of the many dead leaves off the beautiful plant inside though). Also, the banana oat latte they had as a special a couple months ago was delicious. So yummy. Some things I don't love about Drip House: the blue chairs. So uncomfortable. It is expensive and, dare I say, overpriced. The first time I got my $14 piece of ricotta toast, it was delicious. And I figured, fine. It's $14 for a piece of bread with a little cheese and jam but it's so yummy, I'll splurge every once in a while and go with it. Plus, I can't eat tree nuts, so it is one of the few options for me. However, the second time I got it, it was most definitely not worth it. The "whipped" ricotta was just a sad, thin wet layer and there was practically no jam. I get it. It's expensive out here. We're living in the shadows of the avocado toast economy where espresso drinks cost minimum $7 and you effectively can't buy anything for less than $4. But just because you feel like you *can* doesn't mean you *should.* Paying $14 for a piece of bread.... Come on. It's insulting. It feels exploitative. Will i be going back? Yes, because of the proximity and sometimes a girl needs to go for a cute little walk to get a coffee--just to feel something. Would I if there was a competing coffee shop nearby? That remains to be seen. Also the size of the "large" iced drink. Come on guys.
