A good local coffee shop. Stopped in to check out their options, ended up getting a Tiramisu latte- it was delicious but really expensive. This looks like a great study or work spot, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The service was pretty quick. Not a bad option!

What a great spot. Loved the vibes of people working on laptops, the low chatter of other patrons, and the plentiful options to order. I scrapped my original plan when I noticed a "butterfinger latte" on the seasonal menu board. I was not disappointed at all. It was absolutely delicious and I probably should've ordered more than one while I was in town. Alas, maybe next time.

We were in Ann Arbor for a weekend wedding. We wanted a quick start to our day and Black Diesel failed miserably. Our drinks came out at a slow pace but 2 breakfast burritos and a bagel tok over 45 minutes (and counting) to come up. They were staffed with 3 people behind the counter and the place was barely 1/3 occupied. Huge disappointment.

Came on an early Sunday afternoon to work. Atmosphere was very good and quiet and service was excellent. Tried their affogato after seeing it advertised on their social media which was quite nice.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon. The guy who took my order was friendly, but the rest of the staff seemed like a young bunch that were more interested in their own conversations. The interior was spacious and had a lot of seating. I prefer coffee shop ambience to be a bit more comfortable/cozy but that's just my taste. They have coffee, teas, pastries, gelato and some food options. I tried one of their seasonal lattes - I usually like my coffee sweeter but it was too sweet. I also got an almond tart that was dry and bland.

Black Diesel is one of my go to coffee shops in Ann Arbor! There's never a wait and the coffee comes out quick and is always yummy. My favorite drink is the butterfinger latte, which I think was seasonal to this fall. It is so so yummy and tastes just like a butterfinger! The inside is super cute with some places to sit and chat.

Great ambiance and awesome seating design for a small space. This coffee shop is functional for people working remotely while also being a comfortable space for guests looking to relax with a coffee. The barista mixed flavors for me to get the taste profile I was looking for. Great service here and the coffee is excellent too.

We got: - 2 small vanilla lattes with whole milk - pastrami sandwich: I was expecting better bread to be honest, it looked like a cafeteria sandwich in my opinion - large drip coffee It was a good vibe seeing people working and college kids working. It can be hit or miss finding a spot with outdoor seating so early in the season, so I texted my friend and fellow Elite Tiffany S: "Do you know of any places with a patio that might be open today for lunch?" Her reply: "York!!" So off to York we went! I will say that parking seemed a little tricky as it's sort of tucked into a residential area - we got lucky with a spot on the street. They do have some designated parking in front but that lot was full. I couldn't really tell by reading reviews & looking at Yelp photos what this spot was like, but it's an interesting mix of coffee shop, wine bar, and deli. There is also a Ricewood BBQ window and I think a food truck in back. The patio has ample space and I was surprised to see it wasn't super busy. We had just eaten, so we weren't hungry, but they do have sandwiches, cheese boards, salads, and breakfast items. Everything sounded really good, so I would definitely come back in the future. We saw people hanging out and working, so Nate fired up his laptop and got some work done while I sat and read. I loved the murals and art around the patio. Also huge shoutout to the staff - especially the person who informed me that I am eligible for an Ann Arbor District Library card since I work in the city! They were super friendly and kind, which made our experience even better.

The main thing Drip House has going for it is that it is effectively the only coffee spot to sit and study or meet someone right by the stadium (where a bunch of us live and/or work). It is also open into the early evening when a lot of other coffee spots aren't. And we do love an outside seating option. The service has always been just fine and it's a pretty cute spot (not to sound ridiculously nit-picky but while we're here--someone might wanna sheer some of the many dead leaves off the beautiful plant inside though). Also, the banana oat latte they had as a special a couple months ago was delicious. So yummy. Some things I don't love about Drip House: the blue chairs. So uncomfortable. It is expensive and, dare I say, overpriced. The first time I got my $14 piece of ricotta toast, it was delicious. And I figured, fine. It's $14 for a piece of bread with a little cheese and jam but it's so yummy, I'll splurge every once in a while and go with it. Plus, I can't eat tree nuts, so it is one of the few options for me. However, the second time I got it, it was most definitely not worth it. The "whipped" ricotta was just a sad, thin wet layer and there was practically no jam. I get it. It's expensive out here. We're living in the shadows of the avocado toast economy where espresso drinks cost minimum $7 and you effectively can't buy anything for less than $4. But just because you feel like you *can* doesn't mean you *should.* Paying $14 for a piece of bread.... Come on. It's insulting. It feels exploitative. Will i be going back? Yes, because of the proximity and sometimes a girl needs to go for a cute little walk to get a coffee--just to feel something. Would I if there was a competing coffee shop nearby? That remains to be seen. Also the size of the "large" iced drink. Come on guys.
