Well worth the visit even if you don't ski…read more $50.00 for ski lifts/Gondola trip up mountains to visit. A little bit more if you're skiing. Several slopes still open but none is novice. End of season and not enough snow anymore. Fantastic staff here. Their guidance on what to observe where and when to show how warm and friendly they all have been really makes this day complete. The 1960's Olympics museum is a must. I had no idea this was here and it's been not only a fun history lesson but neat to be so close to the elements, buildings, photos, stories and land where the first western USA Olympics took place. What a great experience. Gondola patrons lovely. Lift just to left of the slopes much busier and end of day skiers can be a bit nasty. Over all good experience anyway. $0.00 to park and right next to the Olympic village. You're just steps away from the lifts.

We went for the night tubing, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere alone is worth it--everything is lit up, the snow sparkles under the lights, and there's this perfect mix of excitement and cozy winter vibes. The tubing itself was so much fun--fast, smooth runs and well-organized, so you spend more time enjoying it and less time waiting. What really surprised me, though, was how dreamy the whole village felt. The shops were charming and beautifully set up, almost like walking through a winter postcard. It's the kind of place where you just want to wander, take your time, and soak it all in. And I have to mention the ramen--because wow. After being out in the cold, a hot bowl of ramen was exactly what we needed, and it did not disappoint. Rich, flavorful, and super comforting. It honestly elevated the whole experience. Between the fun activities, the cozy and aesthetic shopping area, and the great food, this place is such a vibe. Perfect for families, date nights, or just anyone wanting a memorable Tahoe experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

But the shuttle never comes, or is packed and can't fit everyone, or is off schedule. A nursery school with kids can organize a shuttle to take kids to a park. But a corporate moneysucking giant can't get reliable shuttles organized to facilitate the actual quantity of people that have actually paid money to stay at the hotel. The frustrating part is that it's so easy. When were buses invented? At least 25 years ago! They don't even have to be autonomous driving vehicles; just hire a few extra college kids for $30 / hour using the $1000 / night the resort charges during peak season. Frustrating!

Very nicely decorated for the holidays and the HUGE REAL gingerbread village was astonishing. The rooms were cozy. Loved the fridge, microwave and toaster (plus dishes) in the room. The robe was a cozy and classy touch. I will say, if anyone is talking in the hallway, you will hear every word of their conversation. I can imagine this would get annoying if the resort was busy. The lobby had a beautiful Christmas tree and complementary hot cider during the day. Free champagne to adults upon check in. The shops between the lobby and rooms are charming- but were never open during our stay, other than the coffee/mini mart. The food in Cascades dining was exceptional. The gym was perfect. Open 24 hrs/day and had some very nice equipment and machines. Did not try the spa as the prices were extreme. The bell hops/valet attendants were "just ok." Not overly friendly or chipper. Shuttle was hit and miss. We stood outside Palisades villages for 40 min in freezing temps waiting. Finally had to call and the female driver had clearly forgot to do our shuttle run. She did apologize. Would come again- especially on the work dime.

Consequently,…read morethere was a significant amount of updating and construction occurring, with many amenities closed. I acknowledge that my experience would likely differ during the winter season. During my stay, the low number of guests meant I did not need to make reservations at restaurants or wait anywhere, which was a positive aspect despite the overall quietness. I am rating this place 3 stars for the following reasons: Pros: -Convenient location for transit to Tahoe City or Truckee, with free and direct routes. -Excellent sales at clothing shops due to clearance of winter inventory. Outstanding customer service; the team was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. -Very affordable pricing; I paid approximately $170 per night for a one-bedroom studio. -Rooms were equipped with a fridge and microwave. -Several food options in the village, although availability varied by day. -The sauna was excellent. Cons: -The gym was subpar, with free weights only up to 40 lbs and both the stationary bike and treadmill out of service. The only notable equipment was the cable machine and elliptical. -The hot tub was closed. -The tram was closed. -Several restaurants were closed for renovation. -Rideshare services to Tahoe City or Truckee were expensive, costing around $30+ each way. Overall, the emptiness during this period was a highlight. However, the timing of my stay coincided with the off-season, during which the facility undertook extensive renovations. This undoubtedly influenced my experience.

We stayed in a studio which had a full kitchen (including a microwave, electric kettle, dishwasher, and stove), a fireplace, and a pullout couch which slept an additional two people. The wifi comes with the room and was fast enough for me to be able to WFH. The bathroom has a tub and there were plenty of towels. Parking is also included and is in a garage. The check-in process was easy (starts at 4pm) and the front desk was very friendly. When we checked out, the front desk was closed (it was before 9am) but we were able to leave the gratuity envelope at the desk along with the key cards. They do recycle the cards and there's a receptacle indicating such. There is a small "gym" with a treadmill and stationary bike (no weights). There are hot tubs available by reservation. Overall, the location is good as it's right next to Olympic Village and the slopes of Squaw Valley. The decor was wolf-themed as befits the name and it's a cozy, homey stay.

Proven Results in Just Two Mornings -- The Video Says It All…read more If you're evaluating private ski instruction at Palisades Tahoe, this is the benchmark. We booked two morning sessions with Pro Powder Guides for our 13-year-old daughter, who had never skied before. Our expectation was simple--safe introduction, basic control, and hopefully a positive experience. What happened instead was a complete transformation. David's coaching was precise, calm, and incredibly effective. The real differentiator was the CALM-TALK™ helmet communication system--live, in-motion coaching that eliminated confusion and accelerated learning in a way we've never seen. And here's the part that matters: The video proves it. By the end of the second morning, she was: Linking clean parallel turns Confidently using her poles Skiing intermediate terrain with control and flow No exaggeration. No marketing spin. You can literally see the progression. As parents, that level of outcome--delivered efficiently, safely, and with total professionalism--is exactly what you hope for, but rarely get. Why this stands apart: Real, visible results in minimal time Technology-enhanced coaching (CALM-TALK™) that actually works Clear, composed instruction tailored to the individual A premium, private experience focused on outcomes--not just time on snow Bottom line: If you want your child to not just try skiing--but truly learn it, confidently and correctly--Pro Powder Guides is in a different league. We didn't just hear progress. We saw it.

One side had a king bed, and the other had a pull-out couch with a table and chairs. Both rooms had their own bathrooms, which was actually a huge win. Ladies... you know how nice it is to have your own bathroom while traveling. He used one, I used the other. Zero sharing. The absolute best part? They are SO dog friendly. They provide bowls and dog beds, and they even give your pup treats. It made traveling with our dog feel easy and welcome. Location-wise, you really can't beat it. It's right across from the Village and the closest lift is the Tram, which is a huge plus when you're clunking around in ski boots. Being that close makes ski mornings (and afternoons) so much easier. We had a mini fridge in the room, and you can rent a microwave for $25 for the stay -- totally worth it for us. The front desk staff was amazing. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They gave great recommendations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even offered road safety tips when we were heading out. The hotel also has a restaurant/bar on-site that's open Thursday through Monday. We were able to eat there one night and it was delicious. My only complaint? I wish it were open seven days a week! Another great perk for skiers: they'll hold your skis behind the front desk, which is such a convenient touch. We can't wait to come back. Perfect spot for a ski trip -- especially if you're bringing your dog along.
